strategy 4 Posted December 19, 2010 Share Posted December 19, 2010 One of the factors that helped lead to the mess though is that same bonus culture where people in financial institutions in an attempt to make millions for themselves took on massive risks that in the end would have bankrupted many of the companies without gov't intervention.bad incentives are worse than none at all. can't disagree.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaz_de_Franceexample of a government-run company that fell victim to bad incentives. their traders were supposed to be hedging, but instead took on more risk.I think incentives are fine as long as they're carefully managed. doing that on the government side...
