Your hand was made stronger on the flop, but there are still several overs that could kill you. He may have had Ax clubs or he could have had two small clubs and knew that your straight would be beat by his flush. He may have had AJ. I wouldn't put him on pocket Q's and a call preflop, but something like AJ I can see a call with. You said he was getting more aggressive, however he's been passive for almost the entire hand until you make the bet on the turn. In my view, when people hit something good they will regress to there old method, because it's what they know, so he may have gone passive with two pair. Did you show down? What were his cards?
