Maybe I agree, but just based off your cards it's very unlikely a 2 :ts helped you so I like the play.

I like the raise, but I'm just calling the 3 bet and hoping to avoid being beat by a boat.

i think we can raise 4th bring open ended with 3 to come, but im not great at stud so maybe nothe never folds 5th when you catch a 2, but i dont think he checks 2 pair or trips either. youd think he would bet a pair of Aces or Kings, but if he's as tight as you say maybe not.by 6th, your straight is pretty well concealed, as you would have to have exactly 8-9 in the hole to make it. it looks more like you might have 2 pair or a flush draw and a pair, and he probably thinks his bigger 2 pair or 3 aces are good. i want to raise 7th atleast once just because i dont see him checking 5th with 2 pair or better, and your straight is pretty hidden, but i hate calling a 3-bet, so i could go either way. plus, people tend to bet 2 pair on the end when it seems their opponent is drawing for some reason, i guess hoping they caught 2 pair also (and not their draw) and will call.

cap 4th and bet 5th to disguise your hand better and for metagame (these plays are largely even strictly in terms of EV). i also cap 6th as you played it since both of you were apparently underrepping your hands on previous streets.by 7th, it's obvious that he has trip aces at least and either has you dead or is drawing to beat you. c/c.
