Vegas Trip - Need The Forums Help

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone -- I am taking a trip to Vegas in the near future and I wanted to know if anyone can recommend any casinos for daily NLH tournies that have a reasonable buy-in. I am going to go on each casino's website but I figured that good experiences from other forum members would carry more weight when making a decision. What casino did you play in for NLH tournies and cash games that you enjoyed and which should I avoid and why??Thanks to everyone in advance for their help

I haven't played many tournies in Vegas, but everytime I've been there I've played at Harrah's for their cash games. They usually spread a good deal of 1-2 games that are incredibly tight and soft. The best time to show up is around 10 pm and play until 6 am if you can still function around then. A lot of tourists/fish/drunks. The rake is 4 max, and the dealers and poker room manager are some of the friendliest I've ever experienced. They also serve free red bulls, and I've read that they are the only poker room in Vegas who do so. Definitely worth checking out.

I had the exact opposite experience in Harrah's poker room, although to be fair I was there during the daytime. Lots of regular rocks, no action whatsoever. All Vegas Poker is the only link you need to research your poker trip to Vegas, they've got everything you could ever ask for.

I was just in Vegas last week.I played 1/2 NL at the Venitian and liked it a lot (made over $500 in 2 sessions). Maximum buy in there is $300.I also entered a tourny at Caesars Palace they have a couple times a day. It's a $70 buy in. They have them at 9am, 3pm, and some other time. I won the tourny for $500.(obv brag post)I've also played 1/2 NL at MGM in the past (max buy in is $200). I think after this trip, I like the feel of the Venitian room better.

Mirage has nice mid-range SNGs. Flamingo has a twice-daily $60 buy in. Both beatable.
Yeah. Use it.

I was at Harrah's earlier this year and played in one of the more bizarre, drunken, retarded $1/$2NL games I ever played in. If I had caught two hands in 4 hours before the plane left, I could have made a couple grand. As it was, I sat through one of the more persistent runs of 9-2 I'd ever seen. Other than that, it's a fairly tight game.

Don't play poker during the day. Just don't. Action is all night. Get sleep and see some sights.

MGM is legendarily bad. I made a ton in the $2/$5 at Venetian.Walk around. If the game sucks, don't sit there, MOVE. There's like ... 10,000 poker games in town. Be assured that you can crush one if you can find it.
