checkymcfold 0
"what should i be thinking?" is the key question here.ok, so utg+1 is LAG, BB is LP. our choices here are raise, call, and fold, obviously.folding is (i hope obviously) not really an option here, at least on the flop.calling is saying "ok, i've made the choice to play my low passively with the hope of catching 2p, a running flush, trips, or a wheel and keeping as many people in as possible."raising is saying "i have a pair and the nut low, i want to isolate and increase my chances of getting 3/4 or scooping this pot."you could easily make a case for either of the latter two options, and most of the time, i'm going to probably lean towards a raise because we're only getting scooped by a four card hand, a2tp, or a24x that catches a 6-9 outer scoop on us. if bb is super loose passive and not going to be folded off a better but still weak high hand, then calling may be the right play, but most of the time i think you're going to get at least 1/2, likely 3/4 of this pot, and can go ahead and fire away. there are also image-related benefits to this, which i know i mention a lot, but in a sh game, you're going to want to get paid off as much as possible and the more we raise, the more that happens. troyomac 0
This is a tricky spot, but long term I still agree that raising has more value because we do 3/4 more often than we 1/4. Also we are just assuming opponent has A2xx here, sometimes he'll have hands like AA4x or even worse if he's a lag. Us raising gives him a chance to either fold and we scoop the pot right there, or he calls and we freeroll, also he's a total LAG, he might not have anything. The more I think about it, the more I think raising the pot is 100% correct. Chamonyx 0
I want to play this heads up but would prefer to keep the pot small. I normally prefer big bets/raises but here a min raise will force BB to decide to commit half his stack or fold without maxing the pot, even if Vilain re-pots. If Villain does repot then it is a trickier decision - and I can get comfortable with either folding or all-in.
