  1. is he well known in poker comm? Ive never heard of him before.
  2. I was hopeful to watch an England-France final, but this above makes up for it
  3. nice work John!!!! unreal stuff, this tournament continues with the great drama
  4. you're good Wayne. I rarely win in WC bets, I really need to lay off when this comes around.
  5. you+I both! which did not play well when i started watching the game poolside/beachside, because the 2nd biggest community here after Cuban is.... Russian
  6. i got france futures, once of us is going to be unhappy on tuesday.
  7. Ive been rooting for those teams too, but now Im thinking an England-Russia matchup might have a lot of tension behind it too, all the fans there. But I still hate the way the Russians made it this far, esp the garbage win over Spain. I would be excstatic with a semifinals of Bel-Fra-Eng-Croatia. Ive loved the way all 4 have played this tourney, all deserving. but first, England needs to finish this.
  8. I now feel your pain John, Wish I was still watching the Canadian feed, these commentators are not good. The woman who throws in the comments every 3 minutes sounds disinterested and her analysis seems forced. It turns out, I was better off listening to the Spanish feed at the pool bar yesterday for BRA-BEL
  9. You had me at the White Shadow, you lost me at musical. I don't love any country enough to sit through a musical from 1972,
  10. beach/cubans/latin music give it away? too obvious of a joke if I say Cape Cod? ya, north Miami
  11. Pretty solid DannyG jinx here... https://www.680news.com/2018/07/05/ontario-refugees/
  12. Im all good with the first part, not so sure that D is better than I think it is.
  13. I think things are better in the dressing room Dale.
  14. I spent most of the day surrounded by people in USA colours on their bikinis, shorts, and tank tops, and the whole time was with Latin music on the beach, coming out of tents with USA flags draped around them, with the occasional Cuban flags. You gotta love the diversity around you sometimes!
  15. Happy 4th of July my American friends
  16. agree with a lot of what you said John, but Im not sure south americans are the masters of embellishment. If I recall correctly, the Brazilians were never like this, or never like what Neymar does. Even Mexico seems a little crude with this stuff, especially when you watch their club teams play. The one country that really dissapointed me in my lifetime was Italy. Their Serie A and then in turn their national team became divers and soft play, and in time, it hurt their ability to win on the international stage. When I used to watch a lot (10-15yrs ago), Serie A became more and more about d
  17. well, these appear complimentary to the player+contract. It appears he is a better puck mover than I would have guessed. I saw something late last night from a Carolina guy who I follow for adv stats, and it was not as complimentary, but still 'ok'. I find that many mistake points for meaning not a good puck mover. I think points are often a by product of usage, and most D get their points from the situations they are allowed to play in. While I dont think De Haan is a 40-50pt D, it doesnt mean that he couldnt be 30-40 if they put him on the #1 PP. Now, they wont do that, because there ar
  18. Also, I might be making too much of his past 'top prospect' situation, but to me, this seems like a really reasonable signing, both in salary and in term. I really havent watched De Haan play at all, or really noticed him. Is he a good defensive D?
  19. Hmmm, didnt see that coming at all. The lefthanded part makes sense, and I suppose its still possible they trade away a D. I wish they would hold onto Faulk, and just ride this lineup. Nothing wrong with keeping this ridiculously solid D depth, if the right deal isnt there. That said, I sure would love to see Faulk+Skinner turn into a top 2 lines C+?.
  20. come on Dale, you're better than comparing players stats based on smaller samples of pool nights.
  21. Cousins to GSW is just video game stuff at this point
  22. I kind of agree with you Steve. Even Brazil (well, mostly Neymar) has become this flopping/diving crap. Uruguay seems to be ok, though Suarez has issues with not spitting on people. France is always my rooting interest because we have family there and long ago they had 2 Armenians on their team, and I was rooting for them, and they won it all. Since then its been pretty dry. Also, have a soft spot for Uruguay, cause they were the first country to recognize the Armenian Genocide. Ya, if you didnt know by now, I choose my sports teams in the strangest of ways. Go Whalers!
  23. Its the first sport I ever played and fell in love with, and I see a lot wrong with football/soccer today, but at the end of the day, absolutely nothing beats this tournament in terms of drama, because nothing else comes even close to being this important to so many people in the world. What a game today between Belgium and Japan. You want to initiate someone into soccer, show them this game to see what can be so much fun about it,
  24. Luke Schenn 1yr deal, $800k JVR 5yr deal, $7mill/yr Now thats a trade!
  25. This ROR trade is a weird one for me. I really like his game, and Im a big believer in getting the best player in trade, but wow does it seem like StL gave up a ton. And then add to it that they signed Bozak, and now IM wondering....does this mean they are splitting up Schwartz, Schenn, Tarasenko? I thought that was a pretty great line, maybe Schenn at C isnt what they really want. ROR with Tarasenko+Schwartz, Bozak with Fabbri+Schenn? Steen 3rd line? More I think, more I'm liking this trade, in that I think both teams gave up a lot. I still think in this situation Id rather be St.Loui
