  1. feeling the loss of Daley pretty significantly. D hadn't been quick on the puck and they're getting trapped. We will see if the adjustments they made today in practice work. He's also putting the lines back to how they were. Crosby guentzel hornquist. Kessel Malkin Kunitz. Bonino rust hags. Cullen kuhn sheary
  2. No OT in Washington. One way or another....
  3. i disagree. But in the end, your and mine are just amateur opinions. Refs get things right such a huge percentage of the time I'm willing to defer.
  4. I agree with you and fwiw I think the NHL has lost the plot on goalie interference. BUT.. regardless of nurse, independently of that in fact, kesler held his pad, talbot couldn't close up and that allowed the puck through. To me, that's literally the definition of interfering with the save. his move, which had nothing to do with nurse knocking him down or even holding him there, prevented the goalie from making a save.
  5. on the kesler holding the pad goal?
  6. and it's probably costing me big in hockey pools. I was leading a few that I'm in because of Nashville.
  7. After the oilers got jobbed, I couldn't be happier for them to bounce back with a great game, regardless of what happens.
  8. I miss the days of anthems before movies and at the end of broadcast days.
  9. i did Encounter a 12 ft python loose in an apt. But still better than a raccoon.
  10. evrything from rats to snakes. But on a couple of occasions I've come face to face with angry raccoons in zero visibility smoke in attics. I'd like to not do that anymore.
  11. Read this without getting a little teary... https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/joey-moss-edmonton-oilers-wayne-gretzky-hockey-nhl-playoffs-2017/article34850919/?ref=http://www.theglobeandmail.com&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=Referrer:+Social+Network+/+Media&utm_campaign=Shared+Web+Article+Links
  12. because leaf fans only make the drive a couple of times a year. And let's be realistic, while there my be 30% leaf fans in buffalo, it's not all of them. Would 19,000 people make the driv from Toronto to buffalo for every home game? My bet is there would be plenty who would skip games here and there. And you're also comparing apples and oranges. Sens tix are far more available than leaf tix. If you can't get or can't afford a 250 ticket for the ACC, you might drive to buffalo. But regardless, the drive to kanata is shite. My ex lived in Gloucester and that was a hellacious commute.
  13. I bet you that, if the ACC was halfway to Barrie, a lot of the bay streeter season ticket holders would be represented by empty seats if they had to make that commute to watch a game. Which is not to say there aren't a million rabid fans who would take their tickets and make that drive in a heartbeat, but location is definitely a factor in empty seat land.
  14. i didn't realize until I watched them how heavy the oilers can play. Anaheim plays that game well, but I thought that, if they get sucked into that game, the oilers speed will shred them. Meh, I could easily be so wrong it's the ducks in 4. But i WAS the only guy that thought the preds could beat Chicago. Of course, I also thought calgary would beat Anaheim. Lol
  15. they need to improve in the face off circle.
  16. i truly think the leafs were a tougher matchup for Pitt than wash is. Sure, no letang, but Daley and Schultz are doing fine. And Malkin was just back from injury. This time, sid and Malkin are flying coming into this. Pens have one under the radar injury that may be significant but we will see. Kunitz will be back, Hagelin shortly.
  17. 6 for 8 in the first round Ott over NYR in 6 Pitt over wash in 5 Nash over stl in 7 Edm over Ana in 6
  18. he reminds me (not technique wise, but results wise) of Hasek: he lets in the odd goal that he should probably have, but he makes some saves he probably shouldn't. And, considering past goalies, he's been plenty good.
  19. if the leafs pursue some top pair/second pair d, these guys drop to depth players anyway.
  20. Happy birthday Dale. If that is, in fact, your real identity.
  21. One thing this series has provided to leaf fans: a positive dialogue regardless of outcome. -win the series, celebration and rightly so -lose the series, take solace in the fact you were supposed to lose but acquitted yourself well in doing so, and put a check mark in the 'experience' box It's like an emotional free roll for the downtrodden and beaten up leaf lifers
  22. Happy birthday Steve and Danny. You're a cute couple....
  23. a big reason was that werenski got up and was making his way to the bench. If refs think a player is really badly hurt they will whistle it down regardless. In fact you can sometimes see a player from the other team telling a ref to blow it down.
