  1. I setup a private stud high tourney on PokerStars. Starts in 30 min. Look for Uwda's $20 Tourney - password 2plus2. Come out and play!
  2. Here's a really good article about poker. It has a lot of stuff about DN, and even some mentions of FCP. Enjoy.http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/arti.../050711fa_fact1

    wipe standing up...

my roommate saw me and didn't stop laughing for about an hour.I honestly had no idea it was an ususual method...
  4. OK. Only because someone posted about peeing sitting down. There are only about 3 people in the world that know this, and I can only confess such a thing amid the warm embrace of the FCP family.Until I was a freshman in college....I wiped my a** standing up
  5. Just read a great article in the New Yorker about poker . I went on at length about DN, FCP, his blog, etc. At your newstands now....
  6. I think you can make a good argument for slow playing aces. Sure, they can get busted, but right off the bat your an 80% favorite, so why not try and get more money in the pot? I saw none other the David Sklansky do it on TV last night. If I had gone all in on those hands, I would have ended up with some blinds and a couple of bets. The reason some people never slow play them is they just can't stand it when they get beat.On an other note, what handcoverter do people use? I've never used it befoe so excuse my ignorance.
  7. Slow played them both, and poor TnTfan was on the receiving end of both beats.PokerStars Game #1953249394: Tournament #9111507, Hold'em No Limit - Level VIII (200/400) - 2005/06/22 - 21:38:02 (ET)Table '9111507 30' Seat #2 is the buttonSeat 2: Cassell (11040 in chips) Seat 3: seminole28 (13630 in chips) Seat 4: NikiJ (6310 in chips) Seat 5: TnTfan (3020 in chips) Seat 6: whitedawg (2980 in chips) Seat 7: prestigetgs (4887 in chips) Seat 8: Leovirg (6700 in chips) Seat 9: uwda (3750 in chips) Cassell: posts the ante 25seminole28: posts the ante 25NikiJ: posts the ante 25TnTfan: posts the ante 2
  8. Yes, that's right. Lots of books will tell you the odds of making a staight after you've got 4 connectors, and I understand the math behind that. It just gets way more complicated if you've only got 2 connectors with 5 cards coming.
  9. Can someone help me with the math to calculate the odds of hitting a straight before the flop? I understand the basics of calculating odds based on unseen cards and outs, but if I've got 9-8, I could get a straight by getting 5-6-7, 6-7-T, 7-T-J, etc.
  10. Remember this guy?http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...pic.php?t=14231Ever since his post, I've been reading his blog with morbid fascination . He's the poster-boy for underage internet poker geek. In his latest post (5/31), he shares his own unique kind of flame out. I've heard of a lot of different kind of leaks, but "Grammy took my stake" is the most pitiful one yet.Check it out here:http://www.livejournal.com/users/momoney22/
  11. What happens when the poker craze dies down? There's a lot of easy money out there right now, but you gotta figure that sometime in the future, poker is going to go out of style, and all the fish that we love to complain about are gonna go spend there money elsewhere...
  12. I've used a couple of odds calculators on the web, and I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can answer.1. They all calc the odds in relation to other hands. That's great, but what about the odds independent of any other hands? That is, AA wins x% of the time. 2. The odds for AK (suited) against 22 are 50.1 (AK) and 49.9 (22). Wow. That's sure not the way I would play it. I think of AK as a pretty strong hand, and if I play 22 at all, I fold if the flop doesn't get me a set. Am I missing something here? Thanks,J.
  13. I've always gone by the philosophy that you should never show your cards unless you have to. I don't show them if I lose on a showdown (and I'm after the winner), and I don't show them if I win without a showdown. However, I see the pros do it on TV. Sometimes, they'll just show one card, sometimes both. Sometimes, they'll show when they had the nuts, and sometimes they'll show when the were on a pure bluff. It seems to me that they're giving info away for free. If you show after a pure bluff play, the other players at the table now know that in the given scenario, you're willing to bluff,
