Funny ketchup. Good work by all
I got nothing much to offer. Took a new job out of the branch, finally. Now a bsa analyst. It’s kind of some of your dream jobs, minus the salary. I have a cube, can work with ear buds in. I get a spreadsheet report with most of my work on it every morning. It’s enough to keep me busy all day. Too busy. No more screwing around half the day. I can kind of come and go as I please. Anywhere from 7:45-9am and as long as I get my 8hrs in and get my work done, i’m good. Wouldn’t mind working one day from home. We’ll see.
My phone doesn’t ring and nobody talks to me. It’s a new feeling, but so far, so good.
Still doing lots of work at the new house. Coming together nicely

Good job with the kids, Brvy. I was never good at that stuff. Fortunately my wife isn’t playing that crap. She has shown me the light. We still spend and do stuff, but after we save some.
We are going a tad overboard with the new house, but it kinda needs it; so, that is that.
Stay flush with cash, Napa. That’s my new home ownership advice. Especially if you like shit the way you like it.

You can tell that Zooey having kids and Jake Johnson getting big famous have hurt the show. Just doesn’t have the same energy as it did in its prime. Megan Fox is pretty awful at acting.
Is she back? I am only one episode behind this season
Even Cici is just acting so weird. The three guys were the staples. Relationship/daddy Schmidt ain’t cutting it. Winston is the highlight at this point

On a whim I started watching "New Girl" on netflix and I gotta be honest...it's making laugh a lot.
This final season has been thoroughly unfunny. But it definitely used to have some solid laughs

I’ve noticed that certain tequilas (I hate tequila) have interesting bottling. From skulls, to sombreros to dia de los muertos type characters.
Otherwise, get something they will know and appreciate. Overpaying for a bourbon you are aware of when they like SoCo and Dr Pepper isn’t prudent.
I like this stock the bar party. I have already stocked mine myself, but I could always use more.
I am Team McGee when it comes to house repairs. Don’t sink half he cost of the house into renovations for something you won’t be in in 3 years, but you have to make it livable, and most any upgrades will help in resale value. Just don’t overpay for a clunker. Stick to your guns and let the bubble burst. Although, it’s not really a bubble, more an inventory problem.
I’d say we are gonna drop at least $40k into our Reno once it’s all over, but that includes new sprinkler system, mucho sod, fixing the leak in the pool skimmer area, heating the jacuzzi ($3k fix) $2k to trim our 3 oak trees, fixing or removing our screen room, etc etc etc. we blew out walls, moved toilet, made a huge master shower, laid all new awesome flooring, redid the other bathroom, pressure cleaned the roof. Just tons of shit you don’t realize you have to do. But we are going for perfect, not just acceptable

My first real date was dinner at Olive Garden ( I had the NY strip) and a movie. That movie was Joe vs the Volcano.
I did not try to kiss her. Later on, we went to prom and I finally got the balls to ask for a kiss or two and she surprisingly agreed. We weren’t going as bf/gf.

Brvy, you’re a sweetheart, but there is zero chance I would ask for any help. Haven’t as of yet. I am not a fan of asking for things. I also am too old to help someone move or do a day’s manual labor. I will help someone move something, but not everything
Strat, it definitely is a labor of misery and love. Once everything is
the way we want it, I think there will be a deeper sense of pride than if we hadn’t done anything. That being said, a contractor and his people are doing the heavy lifting. We want it done right. We don’t really want to test our skills the first time out on our shit.
Napa, I wasn’t going for the weight joke, because, you know. But I wasn’t sure if you saw the FB post and wanted to mess with you about knowing your horsey’s name. My tubby ass ain’t getting on nothing but a Clydesdale. And even then, not likely. I’d feel too bad about it.

You know what I miss? Weekends. For about 10 weeks now, every weekend, we have some sort of project, whether it was moving, fixing up, cleaning, etc the old house, which is no longer ours, thankfully, or working on the new house. Landscape stuff, moving the rest of our stuff, now we are in full construction zone mode, only having a queen bed in a guest room to live in. Once the floor goes down, i’ll have to move everything from the garage to its proper place
Still a ton of work to be done on the house, Tons more landscape stuff, and that doesn’t even include throwing multiple pallets of sod in the backyard, I still have multiple things to chop down and pull from the ground. There is no end in sight.
Sigh. Some day, my weekends will be mine again. Maybe once summer is over. But the house is gonna be cool once it’s done.

put it on the poll, Essay.. Guy who uses "don't be afraid to mix in X"... douche or no douche?
It was a tad douchey, I’ll admit. But he seems to be trying to hard to make it a personality driven show and has strayed so far from what they used to do.
And dan acts like he’s the arbiter of comedy. He barely cracks the top 3 of funny on that show. Mike is good, billy is good. Let’s not kid each other, all of their funny, the looks like game, the song parodies, most of that is the fans, Mike, Hoch, etc.
The show used to make you think, talked about societal stuff, dabbled in analytics, while having fun. Now it’s all about going for a laugh a minute.
Maybe just the local hour is shitty now. Their “show meeting” or whatever.

I don’t listen to the main show much anymore due to time, but the local hours really have been annoying. Just trying way too hard to be funny, do bits, rag on Cote, etc. it’s too much at this point. Don’t be afraid to mix in even a hint of actual local sports talk.
Plus, before they even said anything, I thought he was being rude to that Cuban mafia writer.

Always good to have a sounding board and to talk things through, out loud. It helps me.
Don’t ever get rushed. It’s a lot of money and a huge commitment. If it isn’t meant to be, so be it.
I didn’t even know we were looking for a house, but my wife had alerts set up on certain neighborhoods we knew we liked, along with price ranges. You’ll likely end up finding your own house.

I’ve been a a regular since 2009, so I got that going for me, which is nice
It’s funny, when they moved to mornings, all of us on here swore up and down that dan was miserable, and he was strident in his denial of that, claiming he has a great life and he isn’t unhappy
Now he readily admits that he was miserable, and that he made this switch for everyone else, not himself, which is exactly what we said
Much like dan, our greatest joy is in being right.
Wonder if they are playing the hits because they are headed to Sirius and are going to lose their library???
Dan and crew really crap on Hoch for being an attention whore and marketer. I like Hoch’s cheesiness. I also laugh at Cote’s clunkers.
Death metal hockey guy wasn’t THAT funny. I like surfer dude better.

Did manual labor at the new house yesterday. Demo day. I am too old and too fat and too out of shape for that mess. 7 hours of work, pulled up a poorly laid, cheap laminate floor. That part was easy, minus all the bending over. Pulling drywall of the wall was not as easy.
Other than that, nothing interesting of note to add. Lots of work to be done on the new house from not until eternity. Gotta be out of the old one by April 18th, if everything goes smoothly with the sale. We didn’t want to live in a construction zone, but it’s definitely a good problem to have. Better than carrying freight for two houses for months on end

This place had been good for the 3.5 years I worked here, but we just got bought and it was gonna get real, so i’m Glad I got a chance to make a move. Still a 10 minute commute, work in a nice little downtown area with lots of bars, breweries and restaurants All good. 2018 has been good to ole Ron so far
