I get your point about Hellmuth being more consistent, but that doesn't necessarily make a great endorsement for his book. I've got both Negreanu's and Hellmuth's books, and I find Negreanu's way better for the beginner (Power Hold Em Strategy). Perhaps the whole small ball strategy is a little too much, but the beginner tourney strategy is easy to apply, and with a few adjustments, easy to win with at small stakes. Hellmuth's writing is just plain bad, and his book is a bit of a loser IMO. I don't take anything away from him as a player, he's one of the best, but he's sure no poker writer. I
