I agree.....I stand by my intial point about folding......my second option is to push. I would never call a 3rd raise.

Good point.....but this situation is not even a clear cut +EV situation thus I avoid it.marginal/bad...I dont care the diffenence and avoid them...just me. I dont make a killing at poker (unless I go on a rush) but I make a modest amount. My point is its not worth it in the short term (1-3 years) to play those hands. You know the odds of this situation playing out but do you know the odds of how many times you will find yourslef this sitution. The more difficult you make poker the more your gonna lose. I could support my self with the way I play.......will I ever get rich probaly not..

I disagree. I normally play 1-2 NL Live. The more marginal situations you get yourself into the more you lose. I am sure we both agree on maximizing profits and minimizing lossess. This is how you do it....avoiding the marginal situations and exploiting the great ones. The point is not to even get yourself in those marginal situations as there really no need for them. Waiting for a better oppurtunity is a poker concept not a tourney one. If you feel like your forced to make a move in a cash game somethings wrong.....(at the limits were talking about). Theres really no need to take this

I'll conceed the tourney comment....however the flopped set and implied odds are off.......if you trust your reads. 99/1010's not gonna pay you off but can bluff you out of the hand. Only hand here that pays you off is KK/AA mabey QQ. One issue I have with players who use math as a predominat reason to determine their decison is they dont factor everyting in. Yeah your gonna hit a set 8.5 times......do you factor in the times he gonna hit his set as well. Not to mention if your read is wrong and he has some weird hand. 7/8s. Using math as your sole reason as to make a call is wrong IMO.

No offense but you may want to think about this situation differently. It appears the detail concering your thoughts are geared towards tournement play rather than a ring game which IMO is not a great way to play a cash game. Although I dont mitigate the importance of stack size's in a cash game (help determine likely holdings) their relevance is not as high as it would be in a tourney (if your bankrolled right you dont really worry about if you have to rebuy). When I'm in a cash game I really dont care who has me covered. IMO Its an easy fold. In this situation who cares about implied odd
