  2. The recent move from FCP to PokerStars was eye opening for me. The growth in player numbers and product offering from two years ago has been tremendous. The PokerStars owners are raking it in hand over fist (pun intended). Being the greedy ******* that I am I got to thinking that there must be a better way to make money at poker than by grinding out the $1 turbo SnG's. Anyone here feel like pooling some spare change and taking a run at PartyGaming? I believe their growth has not followed the same trajectory as PokerStars simply because they are not allowed to compete in the single largest mark
  3. Interesting point. However poker, while a cuthroat game, is curiously a game where etiquette tends to be demanded. Think of the last time you were at a casino and someone tried to throw in a string bet. Half the guys at the table, even those not in the hand, will jump all over the offender.I expect that the poker site could make it mandatory that you maintain a certain image quality of yourself. If you agree to play on the visual poker engine then you also agree to respect the visual poker etiquette. Abuser could be freely flamed and reported to support. Then again not everyone who plays is pla
  4. Is this the future of online poker? I think so.http://venturebeat.com/2007/06/14/heycosmo...-em/#more-19322My thoughts:PRO1. This will be a neat application with potential for wide adoption.2. Full Tilt should licence this. Imagine playing against Phil Ivey and having him stare you down. 3. An interesting feature allows spectators. I could see myself paying $5 to watch a final table on Stars featuring DN.4. Elimination of bots and to some extent collusion issues.5. Tourney like the Neg-O would become even more enjoyable being able to put faces and voices to online friends.6. MAY be less intimi
  5. FCP shut down so like all degenerate gamblers I went in search of a fix. Found it on Poker Stars. I will miss FCP, especially playing as the one armed guy (he was luckier than the rest for sure), but Stars does have some advantages. I registered for a 45 man SNG - went to make some coffee - and came back to find the tourney on Level 2! On poor old FCP I could mow my grass waiting for SNGs to start. The end of an era. Fun while it lasted.PSBob if you are reading this I got booted out around 10am EST while playing a $10 SNG. I know you are really busy and you did warn us so ignore me at your ple
  6. Thanks.I also stuck out the wait for the SNG - and ended up taking it down.Nice to go out on a high note.
  7. What sucks is I have a free 90 minutes and wanted to play a SNG on FCP but no one is there!None of my credit cards work for PokerStars. Will the Instadebit option transfer over?
  8. A smart man. I suspect you own a business...For all practical purposes it will boil down to the amount of money involved. I suspect that the rights holder would be able to receive compensation and/or punitive damages but whether the amount awarded would be worth the cost and energy of litigation is up for debate. From my perspective I too would be fairly pissed at being in Tony G's position, however I do not believe he thought through the situation completely before signing on the dotted line. Now he really does have to resort to guerrilla tactics to save the day. Hope he wasn't planning on pla
  9. I'm in.Only the top 27 count so I shouldn't drag the team down!
  10. I knew this chick that would disagree with you there - but that's a story for grown ups.
  11. I was playing and had A5h in the BB. Checked to me. Flop had 1 heart. Guy bets big. I fold. I was thinking that if I assign half an out to my backdoor flush draw then if I had gotten all the money in the middle and made the nut flush that would have been the worst beat possible. Then I started thinking that wasn't true. There must be worse beats. Then I got lazy.Anyone.
  12. I agree with your take on this - thanks for the support.I totally agree that founding an organization like Cirque takes an extraordinary amount of skill, work, dedication and yes, luck. Winning this will not change his life in a material way but it would no doubt be a tremendous accomplishment and bring a great deal of satisfaction. Not many people are able to succeed at the highest level in more than one area.
  13. 10Guy Laliberte1,232,000Up $132,000View_history I believe he is the founder and CEO of Cirque du Soleil and is worth billions. Some people have all the luck.
  14. I always find that travelworm www.travelworm.com has the best hotel prices for Vegas. It's usually better to rent a car and just use valet parking. If you end up getting trashed and can't drive back to your hotel then find some friendly person and ask if you can share her room.
  15. Am I missing something?I have MSN Messenger running - what next...
  16. It's certainly going to make for some interesting picks in the last round - I can see myself agonizing over whether to take Luke Richardson or Sandish Ozolinsh - not that it would probably make any difference....
  17. IN(If I can - I've been lying on a beach for the last two weeks and missed this)
  18. I have been an occasional poster and long time member of this forum and have come to realize that most of the people here have a pretty good grasp on the fundementals of the game. I venture that one would be hard pressed to find too many FCPer's that haven't at least skimmed HOH and SuperSystem and in fact I expect that many of you have read every book ever written on poker. This is not true for the population at large.I find myself playing in an underground game once or twice a week. There is a rotating cast of characters, probably 30 strong, of which one or two may have cracked a book with on
  19. The moron bit is a little over the top but nonetheless I have to agree that I would have mucked my 8 high flush facing an all in bet however . . . the whole point of the story was that Dweezil showed me his hand BEFORE I had acted.Reading for comprehension is good.
  20. True. Buddy didn't have much game. Also true. I am a much higher form of life than him though I'm sure there's someone out there who appreciates whatever redeeming qualities he may have.Word of advice. If taking money off of hapless losers (or in your case just reading about it) makes you sick you might want to go hang out at the Dr. Phil forums instead of here with this bunch of gamblers.
