  1. I wish I would have known that only 3 places paid. Well, I still probably would have still played. It definitely was a cool experience.
  2. As I mentioned on Friday evening, I was invited to play at the Maxim Borgata Invitational. This was a $200 buy-in tourney with 120 people entering. There were supposed to be a lot of celebrities playing who were attending the party later in the evening. One of the dealers told me that P Diddy, Carmen Electra and Howard Stern were possibly going to play, but not for sure. None of those celebs showed up, but there were a few celebs there. At my starting table was Erin Ness. She was really cool, saying she just came in from Vegas and the WSOP. She was very cool and played very aggressively.
  3. Maxim Borgata Invitational yesterday. My first tournament with A buy-in of $200 or over. I'm really busy now but I will post a full report including some of the notables who played and how I fared. I had a really great time and will post all the details in the next day or so.
  4. That is definitely going to be my philosophy! However, I believe that the blinds will be escalating very quickly so I may have to accumulate some chips early or be super short-stacked. Thanks again for your well-wishes!
  5. I will be in full concentration mode. I am really worried that I will get distracted if P Diddy is at my table. <sw>
  6. Hey everyone! I am a regular lurker on the forum and I used to play in the weekly Negreanu Opens in the beginning of the year. However, I have been very busy as a prop player and sharpening my tournament skills. I really enjoy observing this poker community. Although I feel that I am a part of it, most of you do not know me. Anyway, I feel as though my skills have really improved and I was invited to play in this tournament at the Borgata tomorrow. The buy-in is $200 and there are 120 people in the tourney. Supposedly, there will be some celebs playing in the tourney (P Diddy, Carmen El
  7. I just began playing on Poker Mountain. Today, out of cyberspace, comes TJ. He came to my table, played for a half hour. A person or two jumped in and out. I actually had some cards and took a few medium sized pots from him. I was up on him about $40 when he drilled me. I flopped a set, but there was a straight draw, which he caught on the turn. The board never paired, and I knew he had it, but could not release my set. He pulled me right down the road and I lost about $35 on that hand. Anyway, I did it because he certainly liked to bluff. He didn't chat at all, but who knows. Anywa
  8. in a 20+2 rebuy and add-on tourney at pokerstars.I really just began trying to improve my tournament play. Generally, I play 5-10 or 10-20 HE. However, I decided that I wanted to improve my NLHE tourney skills. In the past week, I have fared pretty well in a few MTT. It seems like the bigger the tourney, the more I concentrate and the better I do(also, placed 4th of 1864, all on pokerstars). Anyway, the reason for my post is not to brag. I haven't won anything and I know that many on these boards have done much better than I have. The reason that I am writing this is to ask for advice. Which b
  9. I posted this as a response to another post. However, I wanted to get some opinions on what you guys (and girls) think about this. Any suggestions. I am a relatively experienced poker player (5 years playing 2 years hold-em). Just looking for opinions on what works for you. In other words, I feel that I can win consistently in live games, whereas I feel that I often fluctuate when playing online. No real question, here. Just trying to stir up conversation and looking for some comments/help. Thanks. here is a portion of my post I mentioned:You really summed up how I felt after a 5 hour
  10. You really summed up how I felt after a 5 hour session at the Borgata in AC last week. I live about an hour away from AC and play quite often. Poker has actually become a part-time job for me and I was getting tired of the commute back and forth to the casino 2-3 per week. So, I began to really concentrate on the online game for the past month or so. This past week, the only game I could get on (VERY LONG WAITING LIST) was $6-12 limit. I will play anything from $4-8 to $10-20, depeding on availability of the games. I sat down for 5 hours, played in a total of 10 hands that were not my bli
  11. Wow, smash, you seem like a real player. I wouldn't want to run into you at the tables.
