Don Frye once talked about his days fighting tournament style and how the third fight is what really separated the men from the boys. One of the more interesting aspects of 3 Fights A Night tournament style is that it hugely emphasizes a certain sort of character and ridiculous toughness that one-fight-every-5-months stuff does not. NFL refs should all be required to take public speaking classes or, conversely, public speaking classes should show videos of NFL refs announcing a call as what not to do. What makes football great isn't the athleticism or the strategy. Its the total accountability. Everything anyone does will be recorded and is subject to review.
