  1. I think this is a spot where I like 3 betting on 3rd. With 3 cards five and lower we figure to have the best hand so I like throwing in a raise there. If I remember right I've heard, or read somewhere, razz is a game of pushing small edges, which would fit this situation. Raising here is also going to hopefully get a few marginal hands, that could take the lead if we hit a high card on 4th, out. Speaking from playing Razz in the .50-1.00 H.O.R.S.E. games on stars, I also think might get people calling 3 bets with hands as bad as 8 or 9 low, such as the guy showing a 3 up. 4th and 5th stre
  2. First off the way you played it you need to raise more if your going to take that route preflop. Being out of position for the rest of the hand is not favorable so I'd be looking to just take this down preflop. With such a small reraise you giving really good odds on a call and getting called just about every time in my opinion.Early on in a tournament I like just calling and seeing the flop. You need to build a stack to make a deep run and I think calling offers the best chance to do so. Smooth calling preflop will also help to disguise the strength of your hand. If you hit top pair on t

  4. Position stats would help alot here. Have both players been active from late position or are they raising any. Without knowing anything about position I think a fold is in order. Wth an M in the 8-10 range I don't think a call is neccesary here. Facing a raise and a reraise your've got to figure your at best in a coin flip. You still have enough chips to find a better spot to get all your chips in.
  5. Yeah, all in all this is about the worst i've played a hand in about 2 years. I became so preoccupied in busting the maniac it totally blinded me to everything else that was going on in the hand. Honestly I got so caught up I saw K9s and before the manic even raised I knew I was calling him if he raised and didn't even think to stop and re-evaluate after another call. Ofcourse after this blind disregard for anyone else in the hand prelfop I didn't think about anything else after the flop and went broke when it was no where near called for. Hopefully my stupid mistake can be a lesson for so
  6. I was orginally posting it there, but then I thought a mistake was make preflop and wanted to get opinions.I actually went with $5NL
  7. Yeah, sorry, the hand sent me into a whole new level of tilt for making such a dumb *** mistake, just needed to vent I guess
  8. Someone please tell me I had no choice but to go broke here so my mind stops trying to think of how I could've possibly got away from it. Down to 30 in a 6 handed tourney, 2nd in chips with 9500. Chipleader is two to my right and has me covered by about 800. Blinds 75-150, total maniac who has been playing every hand makes it 550, he only has about 2k left after the raise. Chipleader calls, folded to me in the BB with K9s. This is a power house hand against the orginal raiser, hes literally pushed all in 9 of the last 10 hands. With this in mind of course I call. Flop KK8, check to the
  9. IMO I think we need to raise here at some point in the hand, either on the flop or on the turn. Just calling gives us no info of where we are at in the hand. I really like raising the flop because we are in positon with two chances to hit the draw. If he reraises you can be pretty sure your beat and either fold, or if your getting odds chase the draw. Raising the flop also puts pressure on the two flat calls, who are prob in with pairs or draws. You might even get one of them to laydown like a KQ fearing you for the straight.Assuming we did raise the flop and just got called I think you c
  10. This was pretty much my thinking for a call. If I win this pot i'm up to a little under 70k and back in 2nd place. Before the hand I was sitting in 11th with right around the average chip stack.
  11. Down to 38 in a $5 tourney on UB, allready in the money, blinds 1000-2000 200 ante. Its folded around to me in the cut off, with 36300. I raise to 7500 with AQo, button folds, small blind pushes for 23610. So at this point the pot is 35110, and its 16110 for me to call. Up untill two hands earlier i'd had a top 3 stack so i've been doing my fair share of stealing pots from short stacks. With that in mind is this a good call to make getting 2-1 odds?
  12. I think a continuation bet is in order, somewhere around the 500-600 range. I think you'll get called by enough hands you dominate like an AK or AJ that is not worth hoping he bluffs the turn with a hand like KQ. Assuming you do wait and he does bet a KQ, unless hes really bad I don't think your getting called if you raise, or that he'll bet on the river assuming you just flat call.
  13. With the fact that you said he has been playing some what tight and not making many steal attempts I think you only push big hands in this spot. You still have over 10x the big blind if you fold, so your not that bad off that you need to just start pushing. I think any hand you push when not somewhat short would be a no brainer push here. On the other hand though, you gotta gamble at some point if you want to win. This is a good spot to just pick a hand and roll the dice, if you double your above the table average and don't have to worry about the blinds as much. If you take this route I

  15. Thanks for the insight, I think your right trystero that the earlier questionable laydown got to me. The AJ I know should've been an easy laydown but I think I let my stack size factor too much in the decision, I didn't want to get blinded off, but I defently chose the wrong time to just go with a hand.
  16. Two tough hands out of the blinds in a $5 tourney on ultimate bet.1st hand blinds 200-400, with i think a 50 ante, in the big blind with about 4500 in chips left. Were about 5 spots out of the money at this point. UTG, who has about 12k, makes a rather large raise to 1875, folded to middle position player who pushes all in for a little over 6k. Folded to me in the big blind with JJ. After an UTG raise and a reraise i'm not thrilled with calling off all my chips with JJ. After much thought I ended up folding figuring I could find a better spot to put my chips in and knowing i'd be in steal
