  1. Agree, a teleprompter would be more entertaining than those clowns. LOL'd at Cada Eastgate sumo bit when Eastgate could not get up though.
  2. Don't have the hand history since it was 5 years ago, shortly after I first started playing. 3 handed at FT of a 1$ 1700 player tourney. Get it all in the middle preflop with AJ vs chipleader AK. Flop JJx. And that led to first ever win. Never forget it. Sadly, it made me think I was good at the game, a misconception which the poker gods have been correcting ever since.
  3. wow - is the BBC turning into Fox news? This poor bugger in the UK gets his rear handed to him by the BBC interviewer.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8BCnX8LIIY...player_embedded
  4. Geez, I guess it being above average in California is buggering up the rest of the world. See here:http://www.populartechnology.net/2010/01/g...ng-in-2009.html You're not alone, see above.
  5. Too late, they "lost' the "corrected" temperature data.....
  6. You said fallacious - now I want to go wake up my wife. aahh, never mind, where is the lube...I think you are mixing apples and bananas though. Totally agree that a temperature on a specific day is not predictive of the global trend. But it is also not a probabilistic event either, like the fact that 72 is a dog to AA on average. It is indicative of the actual result for a point in time. And if enough of these points are grouped to represent the global temperature, over a long enough sample of time, and they keep going cooler rather than hotter, at some point in time it can be taken as pr
  7. So this is how its done - Thank you for sharing. Sounds like the only danger you faced all day was making sure you did not get 2 outered on your set of 5's with all the money in the middle. Very smooth chip accumulation. Good luck at the way to the FT!
  8. Serious answer: Let's not interchange the terms "theory of global warming" and "global warming" here. To most, "global warming" means the earth is supposed to be getting hotter. And every observation of colder than normal temperatures is obviously just a single datapoint in an extremely long time series. But a colder than average temperature observation, while just a single observation, is nonetheless still a data point against the theory that the earth is getting hotter. The collection of all these data points (i.e pure and not manipulated or not included as the case may be by the IPCC c
  9. Well I don't think our friend VB could disagree with this line of logic, part of which he is on the record now as agreeing with (i.e point number 1).1. It is now settled that the science is not settled - the current climatology models have little to no predictive capability.2. Billions are being spent to combat a doom and gloom forecast from these useless models3. That result is retarded. For fun though, whenever we notice how friggin cold it is, beyond what is normal, we like to complain about this extreme cold and emphasize point number 1. This riles some folks up for some reason.....Now whe
  10. And with that, all the love was lost............Did not even begin to start the grouphug dammit.
  11. We may as well have some fun, there is nothing left to argue over now that the science is really settled.....Group Hug!
  12. Oh my God, we are in complete alignment. Tell ya what, now if you could just convince the bonehead politicians to stop buying into this crap cuz it is the flavor of the day, then you really would deserve a Nobel Prize for preventing crimes against humanity.
  13. I think the manufactured temperature graph was called a "hockey stick" for a reason....At any rate, glad to see you on board now in stating that the climatology field is currently pretty hopeless.
  14. Now this is what I have been waiting for (well it will hopefully lead to what I have been waiting for), when the AGW folks start turning on one another. This should be goodhttp://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdel...happy-new-year/
  15. Great feature, but do you think Phil would be pissed if he knew you were sharing stories about him?But since you are dishing, have you ever seen Phil show anyone mercy at the table? Like not taking all of some fish's stack near the bubble when he has the nuts. I think I know the answer but curious nonetheless. Also, does Phil have a stance on climate change? Would you classify him as a liberal or a conservative, or no real political affiliation? This is a great thread idea you have introduced btw.
  16. Was just starting to look at flights to AZ for spring break. I think I will put that thought on hold for a while until see if the hysteria dies down or heats up even more. So totally agree that air industry as a whole will feel the pain of this. Also agree with Bob that the hysteria is misplaced.
  17. May Santa bring you all a nice run of triumphant flips deep in the Sunday Million.
  18. Some are, and they have pretty much gone mute, which leads me to conclude either 1 of 2 things have happened.1. They make have had a paradigm shift without a clutch.2. They have lost internet service due to the snowstorms on the east coast.
  19. But seriously though, the debate seems to have really tapered off in light of what has been found in the climategate e-mails and notes. Would be curious to know if some (any?) of the pro Man-made global warming crowd on this forum is now starting to doubt that the science is settled, in light of this new evidence.edit - vbnautilus is in da house. What say you?????
  20. We had a Climate Change rally in town today. Here is a pic of the protesters....
  21. Hmmn - wonder is Obama has to land in this chit on his way home........http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/weather/12/19/w...ther/index.html
  22. Holy Crap! Was this actually played on the Weather Network? I always figured those folks were on board the AGW propaganda train. To see the network founder come out with that is very strong indeed.
  23. Now this is just plain funny. Poor Algore. And this was reported by a treehugging newspaper perhaps tires of tree sap?http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/envi...icle6956783.ece
  24. Oh, those Russians............http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdel...global-warming/
