I'm willing to concede that I don't understand what the program is doing. All I was trying to say in the edited portion of my last post is that when I am in the big blind and the entire table folds to me (I know, find a new table) that pa has shown me 5 board cards. Where do they come from? I think they are probably just random cards generated by Poker Ace. I don't know why it does it, and upon further reflection I really don't care why either. Guess I just jumped the gun on what I was seeing before I fully thought it out.

When the hand is over, pa shows what your opponents mucked AND the board cards. Haven't you noticed that it shows ALL five board cards even if only 3 or 4 were dealt? Not only that, when the entire field folds to the BB, I've seen it show all 5 cards that were NEVER dealt. Seriously. That is the scenario that caught my attention. I was playing on a weird table that either had 6+ callers, or the table was walked preflop. When the table was walked, it would show the blinds hole cards and all 5 board cards. Thanks to this thread I decided to try out PA HUD. It is sooooo much better than GT+. Not to sound like Tritz..... but does it bother anyone else that it shows you the board cards whether they were actaully all dealt or not? I'd love to know how it does that since it isn't written to the hh (the undealt ones). I haven't noticed it doing this on party, but it does it almost every hand on stars.

made it to the 3rd break. 42 players left. sitting on about 34K in 22nd. cant seem to get any cards, growing my stack very slowly but keep droping down in place. don't really mind, this is way, way better than i expceted already

down to 80 players, so i'm in the money now. up to 28k in chips, but down to 12th place.

guess this is just a brag, but i'm playing my frist mtt on stars,10 + 1. started with 925, now down to 137 and just hit the second break. I' in 4th with about 25k. wish me luck or flame away 8)

or is this really, really easy to understand? he's only talking about hands he has shown down or have been shown down. Otherwise, he wouldn't have the data to make the analysis or even care for that fact. He is saying, when he hits his hand this is what is happening. Not this is happening wheter he is involved in the hand or not.

I assume you are on party, so in PT go to File --> Auto Import Party. The second tab is labeled 'Ovserved Hands', there is a checkbox that is labled 'Do not import observed hand history files at this time', this is on by default... turn it off and then follow then start the timer. Hope this helps and good luck!

And, for gt+ i set the color to change to green once i have 100 hands against the player. Not a very big sample, but enough to see that they are playing 80% of the hands and are passive post flop. I'm interested to see what others say about this. Obviously aggression may be way off due to a cold deck after 100 hands, but the vpip has to say something even with a small sample if it is over 30%.

On party you can observe a table and PT will accumulate stats for those players without you having to actually sit and play. Stars on the other hand... you have to play for the hh to be written so that PT can read it. I don't know about the other sites. Check out the stickied PokerTracker for Beginners thread in strategy. There is a link to an article on bet-the-pot.com that has a section about using PT to find fishy tables on Party.

Stop playing limit poker... switch to nl where people will respect your raises and you can really punish them for their draws. No way the guy makes runner runner straight on you when you have a set of jacks in nl. i hope i don't really need to put this but... [sw]
