Happy Birthday!

Recommended Posts

First new topic by me and it's in the bad beat forum .... NICE! And, as an added bonus, it's way too frickin' long and no ones gonna read it, but therapy is required so here we go.Yesterday was my birthday and it started out good as I arrived for a Satelite for the upcoming ME at the BC Poker Cahmpionships to discover that it was already sold out ($140, 1 in 20 get a $2700 TICKET). Put myself on the waiting list in 4th spot and had a seat 40 minutes before the start. Got an end seat to boot .... which was goot!3rd level, havingt only played one hand previous, get 9's in the cutoff and raise it 4X, BB calls. 8 high flop I go all in, he calls, his 10's take it, I'm ghandi. So now you're saying, that's it? Created a post just for that? Well no, actually ....Immediately after busting I phoned my regular room and got myself on the list for the $20/$40 Kill game I always play. I was fifth when I phoned and fifth when I got there ... pfffffffffft. Spent $100 on Carribean Stud over the next 45 minutes trying to hit the miracle Royal for the $120K jackpot. I'm always blown away by the people who play that game risking big bets on the absolute worst table game .... I just bet the min hoping for the unnatainable.Up to 4th on the waiting list ... seriously considered leaving as I walked the casino floor looking for people that owe me money LOL!Started watching a BlackJack game with 2 guys playing the last 5 squares and running pretty good. Decided to take the first 2 squares and put $200 on the table. I used to play tons of BJ but haven't played in about 18 months after discovering poker.Table continues to run very good, scary good at times. I'm continually cursing myself for not betting more than $20 per square (I did double the bets 3 times over the next hour and lost two of them clean including one where I doubled down both against a 6). Anyways, turned that $200 into $1100 by the time my name is being called for a new $20/$40 game opening up.Sit down with that $1100 and a way we go .... 9 handed, everyone is a regular except for one I've never seen before, tough table to say the least. Uneventfull for the first hour or so and then the reason for this post happened .... hopefully you're still here to read it ... Hello, Hello? Anybody there? Kill pot, $40/$80 .... UTG owns the kill. He checks his option, I'm on his left and raise with 8's. CO calls (his first hand, just posted), BB calls and UTG Kill owner three bets, I call, CO caps it and BB calls. All four of us are good players who play aggresively and are capable of anything. The limp reraise by UTG obviously had my attention from the get go. $550 in the middle.875 flop, two hearts, top set for the birthday boy! BB leads out, UTG raises, I threebet, CO calls, BB calls and UTG caps. BOOM! AA or KK confirmation just received! $1090 in the middle.Turn brings a beautiful 5 spade, birthday boy sitting full! BB and UTG check, I bet, CO raises, BB folds and UTG threebets, I, of course, cap the motha! Another $960 in the kitty bringing us to $2050 total.Since this is in the BB forum you know what comes on the river, UTG hit his two outer Ace. He bet, I just called knowing my full house was beat. Of course that Ace was of the Heart variety so Mr cutoff proudly raises his now made Flush only to see Mr Aces Full threebet him. Another $160 to me to see his hand so I fold face up (getting **** from the dealer .... SHUT UP! .... LOL!).I immediately yell seat open and take my last $350 to the cage. There's no way I could sit there and watch UTG stacking those $2500 in chips for right beside me. I've taken some bad ones before and I pride myself on playing my A game every hand and not letting the chit from previous hands affect me but I instantly recognized that the rest of my chips would be at serious risk if I kept playing so I left.Actually started to feel OK this morning as I took out all the $$$ that I had in my wallet .... after suffering the beat and losing such a huge pot it was uplifting to only have lost less than $100 for the day. That was such a big pot it felt like all of it was mine, thus, when I lost it also felt as if my roll had taken a huge hit. Putting my cash back with rest of my roll helped a little.OK, that's it .... if you're still here at this point I thank you, but you may want to look for some therapy too!Happy Birthday Loser!
