mx957 0
a kill pot happens when in limit you win 2 pots in a row over a certain dollar amount. You then post a blind (and the normal blinds are posted as well). If it's a full kill game the limits are double i.e. 2/4 becomes a 4/8 game. If it's a half kill it goes to 3/6. You will see a puck on the table (called a leg up button). It will be placed in front of the winner of a qualifing pot. If the leg up button is already in front of them the button gets flipped over and it becomes a kill pot. That person post the new big blind as the normal people post the regular big and small blinds. If the kill pot person is one of the blind spots they post the new big blind only.
redster 0
also happens when you scoop a pot in eights or better
iggymcfly 0
There's different qualifications depending on the poker room you're at. I actually played in a 5/10 game where any pot over $100 automatically made the next pot a kill. Once it went up to 10/20, it would usually stay there for 6 or 7 pots before there was a small enough pot for it to go down.
