I talked to solo319 a bit because I was looking at taking a 3 day wkend to KC in Oct. and here's pretty much what he told me:"I would say the best place to play NL is Harrahs Just because of the pure volume of players although the Argosy or Ameristar are both great option also"GL and if you discover anything of interest post a mini trip report if ya can.

Well, It has taken me a while to allow the pain of my experience to subside before I reported but here goes.......Let me start by saying, in my limited exposure to B&M poker rooms, Ameristar KC is a totally class operation. I really felt comfortable there from the minute I walked in the door till the moment Quad 5's cracked my flopped nut flush on the river. I arrived too late to sign up for the tournament and decided to play $2/$5 NL. Bought in for $200 and played TAG for about an hour. The hand I busted out was the first hand I had a decent starting hand (AK :D ). I was in the cut off and raised 4x the BB. Button called and the limpers following folded. Flop came 5 J 6 :D . I checked, button bet $25, I raised to $75, button came over the top and put me all in, I of course called. Button flipped over his set of 5's and I was feeling pretty good.Turn came 7 :club: , river 5 :D. Well that was all she wrote. I gathered my belongings and exited the casino. In spite of the crushing defeat, I will go back to Ameristar as soon as I can. A very satisfying experience overall.*L*T*

BBFIDTS :club: Thanks for the heads up. It's looking kinda doubtful that I'll head down as originally planned. But it's nice to know they've got some donkeys that'll pull the cart by pushing their set on a flush board.
