Omaha, Nebraska Poker Room

Recommended Posts

I am going to Omaha, NE in a few weeks. I wanted to see if anyone can tell me about Poker Rooms in the area. I have seen that Binion's (Harrah's) Horseshoe in Council Bluffs has a room, but I am interested in finding out about any other places to play as well. Any commentary would be appreciated too (nice layout, tough 3-6 LHE, etc.).

Wish I could help, what takes you to Omaha?

I didn't get any replies to my post for over a week. So, I stopped looking at this forum. On a whim I checked back tonight. I went to Omaha for a job interview. I was able to make it to the Horseshoe. The poker room looked nice, but they only had Hold 'Em (which isn't bad, but I like to play Stud sometimes, as well as Omaha). I went on a Tuesday night, so they may have more games spread on the weekend. The lowest limit they had was $3/$6. I only brought $200 to gamble with, so I went and played Craps.
The 'Shoe is gonna be your only option, I believe.
It looks like I may be moving to Omaha. I'll know for sure towards the end of the month. Do you have any comments about playing at the Horseshoe?

Cool. I live here now but may be taking a job that would move me all around the western part of the country. I haven't been there to play yet...actually, I'm going tomorrow at midnight as that's when I turn 21. From what my friends have said, the NL games are soft. That's pretty much all they play.

Bring a coat, were entering the 2nd season of the 2 seasons we have; summer and winter.3 casinos here. Harrah's, Horseshoe, and Ameristar. Harrah's used to have a small poker room with 9 tables, but i think it shut down when Horseshoe opened. There is a poker room at WinneVegas casino in Sloan, IA and at the river boat located in Sioux City, IA. Sloan is about an 1 1/2 hours north and Sioux City is 1 3/4 hours north. The only room I've played at extensively was at Harrah's and the LHE games were very juicy. I haven't played there for a while, (bought a house, traveling w/ work) so that's why I don't know if it's still running. Anyway, if you have any questions about Omaha, I'd be happy to answer them, just PM me as I don't check the forum very often. Most people that come here like it for the people and it's an easy place to get around. You'll hate it for the property taxes, extreme weather changes, and lack of professional sports. If you have kids, the schools are pretty good. There are some issues in Omaha with gangs, but the crime rate isn't high. It's not bad place to live, but there are definitely better places to live.
