76clubs 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Author Share Posted August 4, 2006 Players have to clear waivers..and then they can be traded. I suppose Javy cleared waivers..so the O's can trade him. Something like that.If a team claims the waived player (the red sox most likely claimed lopez) then the waiving team can either:A: let him go to team B for free.B: Work out a trade with team B including the player.or3: pull him back permantly, which means he must remain on the active roster for 30 days.
