I know the standard BB for moving up in limit is about 300 BB's, does the same hold true for NL...or should more be alotted?

I don't want to get into an argument about this, but this just seems insanely large. I've always believed that 1000x the Big Blind was more than enough if you are a good enough player.

I don't want to get into an argument about this, but this just seems insanely large. I've always believed that 1000x the Big Blind was more than enough if you are a good enough player.For a good player, 1000x BB is probably sufficient. 1500x is the rule. Your talking 20-25 buy-ins. I personally prefer a little padding, though my game could probably use some work.

actually i don't have a HUGE bankroll...just put in 50 bucks on Full Tilt. Taking it slow, playing .05/.10 now and wondering when to be 100% safe to move up to .10/.25...I know it's micro shit but I wanna play it right

10X to 20X the maximum buyin is what most people agree on. dont think in terms of "times the big blind". think of it in terms of buyins.basically, you want minimum 10X max buyin and always buyin for the max. generally, you want closer to 15X.-if your game is 50bb buyin structure, you'll want close to 20X bankroll-if its 100bb game, you can do with less, perhaps between 10-15x buyins-but more is always better
