chach2046 0
so i have a weekly game at my house, its only a $20 buy-in. my problem is of 9 or 10 rotating players about 6 of them have no idea what they're doing. i mean honestly no idea. i saw two of them going at it big bets on the flop turn and eventually and all-in and a call on the river. the guy that went all-in turned over ace high, the caller showed ace high with a higer kicker. WHAT???!!!! now i know this would have been a brilliant play (calling), had he been an experienced player, but thats not the case here by any means. now that doesnt leave much room for a player to make moves and ive tried playing tight until i get to the money but that doesnt work either as i usually end up going up against 2 or 3 monsterous stacks after they've knocked out the other novice players at the table with hands like ive just explained. please help me. give me a strategy, let me know if one even exists. i know what id tell myself..."just dont play in that game". unfortunaty, this is the only cash game around here. i really hate playing in the local bar tourney just for fun. thanks for any imput guys. :wall:
Wilderness 0
Really the only thing to do is play ABC poker. Play only the good hands, don't chase your draws when not profitable, etc. In a game like that, with a bunch of players who have no clue, what you CANNOT do is to try and be tricky, make moves, or bluff. You just can't because they will call you down and never even realize that your betting was representing the flush that hit on the turn. All they'll see is that they have a pair of 7's and it looked pretty.
