moving up in rebuy tournaments

Recommended Posts

so my next question to you guys is...i've been playing at my local casino pot limit rebuy tournament now for 8 weeks. My first 3 times i didn't really get anywhere. Then i thought about my play more got a strategy for the tournament and familiarised myself against the players. So the next 5 times i've been i've come 5, just off the final table, 6, 5 and 1st. 3 final tables in a row in fields of 35-50 i think shows i'm doing ok at the minute ... (the final table cashes) i take enough money to normally have 5 re buys. i find this works well and i'll get my stack going within this time. when i've got my stack going i am yet to lose it in the buy in stage and play through with it until the knockout stage.so on other nights of the week the casino offers a £10 rebuy with the same players basically. im thinking about going to these nights but i would be kinda hesitant to have 5 re buys if i couldn't continue my results. i've made some calculations and i'd say i'm around +200 overall. and + 350 for the last 4 visits. So i'm thinking about giving a trial to the higher buy in...have any of you been in similar situations in your games, knowing it's exactly the same players and structure that you have done well in but just a step up in cash. just wondering if so, how you found the transition?

If it is the same players, you should have the same results, but DON'T PLAY SCARED. Also, make sure that you are really outplaying the field and are not on a lucky streak before you risk the higher limits if the money is significant to you. And never play for money you can't afford to lose.
