  1. Update!~ Here's some info on some wsop event satellites :club:Full Tilt Poker: offers 10 weekly satellites to a $2000 package consisting of 3$500 WSOP buy-in chips and $500 in cash. There does NOT appear to be acontractual requirement for you to use the WSOP buy-in chips so you might beable to sell those chips to another player without running afoul of the "termsand conditions" contract of the satellite tournament (please confirm will FullTilt Poker). Also offers a weekly satellite to a $1500 package consisting of a$1000 buy-in to the Ladies event and $500 cash for women ONLY.Bodog: offers 20 weekly satellties to a $2500 package consisting of a $1500buy-in to ANY $1500 buy-in WSOP event PRIOR TO the main event, and $1000 cash. You are required to play a $1500 WSOP event and wear a "Bodog" logo while youare playing if you win a package, and you are required to sign a "terms andconditions" contract document before Bodog will wire your buy-in to Harrah'sEntertainment. You can win as many of these $2500 packages and play as many$1500 buy-in events, but you may not combine the packages or add additionalcash to enter $2000, $2500, $3000 or $5000 buy-in events.PokerStars: "SilverStar" VIP players and above can use special tournamentcredits, known as W$, to buy into 9 events with buy-ins ranging from $1000 to$2500. At this point, NONE of those 9 events have confirmed ESPN TV coverage, though the chance of having 1 of the 9 events (Event 2, $1500 No Limit on June27) picked up for TV coverage is fairly good. PokerStars will require you tosign a "terms and conditions" contract and wear a "PokerStars" logo during thetournament if you choose to buy into any of those 9 tournaments with W$(PokerStars will have monitors at the WSOP to ensure contractual compliance.) You can accumulate W$ by playing WSOP "Level 1" satellites, with buy-ins rangingfrom $2 to $80. You can also buy W$ at a slight discount from various online"poker currency traders".Absolute Poker: offers online satellites to the $1000 buy-in event on July 10and the Ladies event. Package consists of $1000 buy-in and $500 cash. You arerequired sign a "terms and conditions" contract document, which requires you towear an "Absolute Poker" logo while you play at that particular WSOP tournamentif you win the online satellite.

  2. I hope you citizens of WA can play hold'em in casinos at least because what else do you have left now? Play money cash games? BULLS#IT!I just tipped my 40 for my peeps in WA :D looks like i'm going to half to x20 my playing online before this happens to all of us. I hope this really isn't a trend to start up now, starting with WA :club: I'm gettin paranoid now.

  3. Thanks alot for the info Jsull! This is exactly the info I was talking about. That's good to know bodog are running these $50 sats for wsop events. I wish I would've seen this thread earlier before puttin the 50$ I deposited on bodog because they have a sportsbook and UFC 60 was playin that night. I never played poker there, but I think I'm going to have to for the WSOP Satellites.Any other sites or games you guys know of?add to the list :club:

  4. Hello everyone, I haven't been here in ages! I hope the long time members on this site are doing well and the new ones are doing just as good.Playing a wsop event in 2005, a $1500 NLE was a great experience and time for me. I met a ton of pros, but I don't think that it was a wise choice to enter it because it was my whole bankroll pretty much! I went there with 3k and 2k was my bankroll I had made from $100 playing poker.Anyhoo.. I great way to get into WSOP events would be to enter a Satellite and try and get through to win an entry. Especially for people that don't have a $100,000+ bankroll. So I made this thread for people to post sites where there are Satellites for WSOP events (OTHER THAN THE MAIN EVENT) that they can register for. If you could also post the time and date of the event with time zone that would kick arse as well. Since there are tons of poker sites out there, this will help alot!p.s. when we get alot of info on all of the satellites running, I will repost it all in order of what site and have it all nice like. I might even post it on a website if that's even easier. Hmmmm I wonder if there is a site already out like this. :club: I'll start off..PartyPoker - $2 buy in WSOP sub qualifier - 1AM - Everyday

  5. I feel your pain iveyfan, since this is why I haven't been around here very often, which also sucks since I left when they charter member was in effect and I've been a member since the begining. So no hook ups for my arse.I miss the vets!

  6. Good luck with the poker bot you've outsourced to India. To answer your question, send him a book. They print those in other languages now, right?
no, I'm not planning to do any crap like a bot. I want to show him how to play by giving him a easy and discriptive site. Then after he learns the basics, I'll direct him to a poker site to play for play money until he understands the game. He doen't want to play poker, I just want him to understand how the game is played.I talk to him via messenger and it's kinda hard explaining how to play the game word for word, I site to show him the basics would be great especially a site with pictures and easy to understand.
  7. I'm werkin on a little poker program with someone and it would really help, if he knew how to play the game, because he doesn't really know what I mean when I'm telling him about blinds, position how it's actually played. This would make the process on making the program way more easier. Since he lives overseas it's hard for me to tell him how it's all done.Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

  8. I'm sure you all have a home game that you all play at, and it's somewhat has a poker feel to it with poker decorations and knick nacks. I wanted to add something to my buddys room and wanted it to be something kewl and different from all the rest of the stuff.Any idears? This could be a thread we could all direct people to when they post this topic up. feedback appreciated

  9. I will constructively say that you do lack knowledge of some very fundamental ideas just judging by your post. You are obviously getting emotionally committed to every pot you thnk you deserve to win
I would prolly think that too if I read my post, but I mainly wanted a quick answer before I go to bed. I don't become emotionally committed to pots, I just wanted to put in perspective the level of play in a higher level of blind. I play tight aggressive and mix it up every so often when needed. You pretty much have answered my questions, and I have a couple more questions to ask you. I pretty much have been just frustrated when I get cold cards for very long periods of time and there is nothing I can do other than move. How long do you wait until you move to another table or another seat?
You have really not played enough to really understand whether you are even a favorite in these games.
I think know my percentages pretty good. I have been playing NLHE for 3 years now, so I have a pretty good idea if I'm a favorite or not. Of coarse NL and L play like night and day. My everyday BR is set up pretty much how you said though. 20xbb and if I lose 40x BB i'm out!tanks again for input
  10. You have not been beat by terrible play you have been beat by variance.
That's the word I was looking for :-) Thanks for correcting me. The thing is I have this rare condition where my body doesn't produce any luck whatsoever so I have to rely on just skill most of the time. You and I know that doesn't work more than half the time so, I'm trying to find the best way to make an extra buck. My bankroll range is in the 2/4, 3/6, but I sit down with at least 20x BB. How many times the BB do you usually buy in with? Thanks alot for helping out too. There is casino where I live that has 3/6 but it's the lowest table they have. I was just thinking there would be a little bit better play on a 3/6 than a 2/4, because it's one up and alot of new players wouldn't start at 3/6 they would want to start off with 2/4.I'm pretty much stuck at the casino while my brother does steelwork, and I play poker for 10 hours a day, so I have the time an patience to play limit and just sit there waiting for the good hands. :-) Does that factor in at all while playing? More time on your hands to play? All this thinking started when this guy capped it with me and 5 other people I had AA, and there was a 8 on the flop and he called it all down with a K, 8 ,with a 8 on the river. Hands like that that get me as well as anyone else.... dats Poker!
  11. I'm in Minnisota right now for a month and the wifi at the hotel sucks so bad I can't play any Sng's which is my strongest game. I couldn't play any poker at all actually, because the connection would always time out and I was just wasting money. I mostly went too MN with my brother because he is on a out of town job, and it was a good opportunity to get some live play in. I found out that in Minnisota that they only have limit cash games and only NHLE tournaments, but they only have tournaments every so often so what better time to improve my limit game then now?Limit is one of my weaker games I play and I've been playing mostly everyday I've been up here. So far I have only been playing 2/4 and I have really been thinking about if I should've just started at the 3/6 table instead.Reason being is so many times I've been beat by terrible play and terrible call downs and suck outs that I'm wondering if I should just begone with 2/4 all together. As far as my experience for playing limit, I would say I'm pretty knowledgable of the game. I have read several books about the game but my live play I would say I have had around 30, 10 hour days under my belt.Any advice you can give me would be great, and I would greatly appreciate it, and thanks for your time.

  12. I figure I'd post this in the strategy section and get a serious answer rather than a half arsed answer in the general section.I've been on the road right now and have been staying at a hotel close by a card club to play poker. They only have limit hold'em so I've been really trying to get my A-game down for limit but it's definately my weakest game right now. My main interest is the NLHE tournaments they have twice a month and I've been trying to prepare myself for it now.So I have stopped all the limit hold'em playin and studying for now and switched it back to my best game I play NLHE tournaments. Only thing is the Wifi connection they have at the hotel blows so I haven't been able to get any practice in. Whenever I try and play a game it's like paying my brother 20 bucks to kick me in the nuts.... it cost money and it stings for a long period of time. Especially when you see pocket aces, kings being folded because of the connection.Right now the only tools I have to work with are Poker Academy Pro and a couple books I brought with me. So I was wondering what advice you could give me, givin in my situation and a crappy connection.any great sites I should peep? any help would be great, and mucho appreciated.

  13. Do you fend off boredom by doing a little "gun cleaning" under the table?

is it a smart move to try to limp into a lot of pots early while the blinds are small with marginal to bad whole cards, in hopes of flopping a monster? Or should you just stick with your normal tight aggro game?
Stick with your aggreso game, limpin into alot of pots, you shouldn't waste your money doing that since you can use your money in far better ways in the tournament. Basically you shouldn't put yourself into that situation, because it usually just leads to trouble.
