  1. Knowing effective stacks would be nice here. Youre the fave against this guy so getting the rest of the money in isn't a problem. But depending on the scenario, you may want to push because you might be better off winning $6.25 outright in the pot outright. This is a net gain of $4.75 minus rake. So +$4.45. It depends on how big of a fave you are here and how big your effective stacks are. If he would stand pat and you drew and held an 8 or better, you would be only a 1 - (34/46)(29/45) = 52.37% favorite to win. With the rake, thats barely an even proposition. Definitely jam here and get him to fold if possible.

  2. This is real marginal. You have 4.5 outs...3 outs to win and 3 outs to split...and will have position on the river. You have to be pretty damn sure he has it to fold 6th here...the pot is getting pretty big. Folding is probably best against straightforward opponents, but calling isn't a horrible mistake either...because we see that we probably get $4 on the river if we hit our boat.

  3. I think I would probably cap this preflop for the exact reason you mentioned, he probably doesn't think your as strong as you are. I would play 4th exactly the same way raise then just call his reraise. I definetly throw a raise out on 5th. If the villan happened to have started with aces in the hole, he hasn't made two pair so we're in the lead now. We also took the lead from any smaller two pair. A straight is very unlikely because he probably wouldn't have done so much betting and raising on 3rd and 4th without a pair. A flush is also unlikely for the same reason. The only hand that leaves us to worry about it trips. He probably wouldn't play rolled up jacks this hard against only an 8 showing from our hand. No way he playes pocket threes this hard. He can't have trip nines as two nines were door cards on 3rd. This leaves trip 10's as the only reasonable holding we can't beat. We're ahead of so many hands here I think we have to raise it. If you know the villan to be aggresive a check raise here is perfect.
I think you mean raise 6th...He doesn't get 2 pair til 6th...and I agree with that line of thinking.
  4. I didn't buy pokertracker for stud but i accumulated 900 MPPs since yesterday so it must be around 3600 raked hands.
Ok, well, you should be rolled up quite a few times then...heheit happens about 1 in 425 hands if you were curious.Just don't get too burned out on this game :club: And if you do, pick up O8 or 2-7 TD...we need more traffic in those sections too, bud...lol
  5. yes but only to see if I can make a better two pair or get lucky and hit trips on the river, if I don't I'm dumping it.
This makes no sense....he made 2 pair on the river? So no call? She has to have the case 3 to beat us probably. Easy call on river.
  6. with it being 3 handed and there is a bet and a call on 4th already and you can put in a double raise in...you shouldn't wait til 5th...build value now. Well-played. And how many hands have you played so far...you have posted multiple hands when you were rolled up...I am jealous.

  7. bet 6th. After check-check, it looks like you might be way ahead of both. Seat 3 probably hasn't got the flush, and Seat 1 is less likely to have trip 2's or a boat, since you hold a 2. In worst case, you'd have outs to beat him. Make them pay to draw...
I wouldnt say way ahead...but yeah, youre probably ahead. Bet/call 6th. Crying call on river....that one just sucks. Actually if you have a decent read...you probably could even fold river. I dunno if I would have the guts to do that though.
  8. I'm primarily a stud player, and this is a pretty good site I was given when I first began. I usually check the stud forum a couple times a day and answer questions with what I feel is the correct answer. Good luck and welcome to what I feel is the most profitable game on the internet right behind plo.http://www.studstrategy.com/
Yeah, I have ran across this site too...definitely will get your foot in the door with this game.
  9. "They say an Indiana State trooper was also inside at the time of the raid, but he was not arrested."Yep, justice is blind.
No one was arrested for just playing there...they only arrested ppl for other reasons. Now if they didnt ticket him...that would be blind.
  10. I also have a bit of a problem with this comment. If QueenBee is a somewhat decient player she shouldn't be raising knowing she can only win half the pot. Given her board, if shes got a low, shes got the best low making a pull play a better option. Just calling "pulls" the others with inferior holdings into the pot because they only have to call one bet. While raising runs the risk of folding the table back around to the original bettor thus negating any 6th and 7th street action and basically choping the pot after 5th, minus of course the rake lost because the pot is larger than it was on 5th. Unless, or course some long shot draw were to hit on 7th. The only time I raise when I only have a shot at half the pot is when I'm last to act and think I have it pretty well locked up. Say first to act bets, 4 people call, I'm last to act with a very strong low, I go ahead and raise. Conversly, if I'm 2nd or 3rd to act with the same hand I just flat call pulling others in. So many times you see a 4 or 5 way pot turn into a heads up pot, because someone with a nut low and nut high decided to keep raising each other and drive everyone else out of the pot.
Youre right...I am wrong from a true equity perspective...we don't want them to fold to the bet and raise if their hands are worse than ours. But I know I am going to be frustrated when I lose this pot a third to half of the time 4-handed. And nice EV calcs...Aces up is doing better than I would have guessed here.
  11. So here's a tricky part of omaha that I'd like to discuss. I call any full house with the three cards lower ranking that the two cards as "inverted" KKKAA or 55522, etc.Resorts Casino, East Chicago. 11PM on a Friday night. Limit, Omaha 8 or better.6 callers before me in the big blind, look down at: KK36 out of the big blind.Check, of course.Flop comes Ah-Kh-As.
It is better known as an "underfull"...and with 6 to the flop...with the ace being the most powerful card in this game....You can argue a check/fold here. Since you have an emergency low draw you could argue seeing this to the river. Given your position, I'd lean toward folding.
  12. I don't really get this hand (but I want to learn)...We're thinking of capping the river and turn because we have the nut low, and we think we have the hi?Do we think one pair is ahead here enough? I mean, are we worried about being quartered at all?The river, I realize helps up by now beating a lot of two pair combos he has, but I'm still scared about being 1/4.
Heads up with a bunch of preflop raising, AA2 is strong with the low arleady made. Of course we are a bit worried about being 1/4ed...but thats when we stop raising, and just call instead. We have to get a raise or two in here postflop to figure out though. I am most likely 3-betting that turn, btw.
  13. Raise or fold the flop, calling is horrible. This is a perfect situation to go for a promotional raise. You want to get rid of hi-only nut flush draw and other A5 hands.
Given typical opponents, I don't think the nut flush draw will go anywhere...even if they have no low....ppl are dumb.
  14. I think this is a bad place to check/raise unless you think queen bee is aggro enough to 3-bet, which i doubt, considering her board. The pot is too big for anyone here to fold to 1 bet probably. You want your check/raise to possibly thin out weak draws. Check raising for value is pretty marginal here. You probably have >25% equity...but not a ton more than that. I rather lead out, and have her raise...making the other two players having to call two.

  15. i 3town the turn and raise the river for sure as played. 2p should bet the flop, so you're probably tied for the high on the turn at worst and have the low 3/4 draw.
Definitely. You have a monster at the moment considering the flop was checked. Worst case scenario is youre up against the "hammer" probably. And even then, you have a decent chance to get half. A lot of the time that raise is another A7 here...which you are usually ahead of in equity at this point.
  16. Yeah the dynamic in this game changes drastically when it is multiway. Easy PF fold. Post flop...you can call down here with your possibilities, but it's still risky. Raising the river opens you up for a 3bet that you are obligated to call, so thats risky too. And this is why we just fold these types of hands preflop...makes our life tons easier.
