  1. Uncharted 2 as good as advertised?I actually never got the 1st one even though I thought the demo was great, I might get the 2nd.
Every review I have read has been very favorable. ScrewAttack has said it's a game worth buying a console over like Halo was for the original Xbox.http://www.ScrewAttack.com/VGR/Uncharted2
Toys R Us is having a buy 2 get one free sale on games right now. I'm going to pick up Fallout 3 GOTY, the new Batman and maybe Madden 10. I finally opened my copy of Soul Calibur IV and I'm loving it but I'm having trouble figuring out all the moves.
I also find that SC4 has a very high learning curve. You can't go wrong with Fallout 3 the game is almost perfect. Batman and Madden 10 are more of rental games than buyer games. Batman: AA is sweet, but it's one of those games that will be played till it's beat and then never again after that. Madden...well it just isn't what it used to be.
  2. Thought about getting the MW2 console but probably not going to just because I've still got more than enough space in my Elite's 120GB HDD.I will however, be buying the Prestige Edition of the game with the night vision goggles, just because, haha.MW2 is looking extremely sick btw. I haven't been so excited for a game release in quite a while. Check out some of the Multiplayer coverage from IGN if you haven't already done so.
I thought about purchasing the MW2 console since it comes with the 250 GB HDD. Microsoft has stated that the 250 GB drives will not be sold separately to the public which means they can probably be sold on eBay for exorbitant prices.oh and congrats on the kid byaaatch
  3. re-watched the first ep again. It was ok. Not awful. The Andy/gay stuff was over the top and isn't close to real, but it still made me chuckle. That's the thing I've always had with the show. Most stuff is real solid, but when they cross the line of reality of what a real person would say or do, that's when it gets iffy for me. Like when Michael stole the mic and gave the toast at Phyllis' wedding and was saying all kinds of stuff and doing things...nobody in their right mind would do that.
I do know a few people that are fully capable of doing exactly that if given the chance.
  4. I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode, although I wouldn't rank it up there with the best. The interns making fun of Michael, and Michael trying to recant his disclosure of Stanley's affair were golden. As for last season I have been re-watching it over the past week on DVD, and find it very enjoyable. Dwight's Christmas wrapped desk is still the best prank by Jim that I have seen.

  5. Sigh...looks like I'm going to have to send in my 2nd Xbox 360 in less than a year for repair.I sent in my 360 Elite back in February because of the red ring of death. Because I did not want to go a long time without my system, I purchased an Arcade version. When I got the Elite back, I sold it minus the 120gb on Craigslist and kept the Arcade. Now the Arcade (which is about 6 months old) has gone to shit too. The system will not recognize any discs in the disc drive. After some googling I found out it's probably the laser that needs to be cleaned. There's actually some tutorials on youtube on how to fix it, but it would require me to open up the console obv. and since it's still under warranty, I figured I might as well send it in to microsoft instead. I put in the repair order online today so I should be getting the pre-labeled shipping box sometime in the middle of the week and then expect to get the system back in like 2 weeks or so.This whole shit's really pissing me off man. I've always been one to defend the 360 against all the PS3 fanboys, but having TWO brand new systems go out within less than a year of buying them is completely unacceptable. I do commend Microsoft for fixing it free of charge but still, it's total bullshit. Now that the PS3 Slim was recently announced with a $299 price tag I'm strongly considering buying that. I probably won't get rid of my 360 once I get it back because there's still a few 360 exclusive games that are worth keeping the system, but I may be doing most of my gaming on a PS3 from now on. Plus, I just purchased a 42'' LCD for my room not too long ago so the Blue Ray player on the PS3 is a big incentive.
The PS3's are only marginally better in the console dependability category. My HDMI port went out on mine in a little over a year, and Sony wanted $150 to fix it. Also, PSN is complete joke compared to Xbox Live. About all my PS3 is used for anymore is as a DVD/Blu-Ray player. However, those are my experiences, and you should base yours on the types of games you want to play. For me my 360 (which has also red ringed on me) gets about 95% of my gaming time with the other 5% split between the PS3 and Wii.
  6. the new DLC Chapter for Gears of War 2 along with 7 new multiplayer maps came out todayalso Marvel v. Capcom 2 is due out tomorrowthe new DLC for Fallout 3, Mothership Zeta, is due out next weekas for PS3 (and other systems) game reviews I go with www.gametrailers.com, www.gamerankings.com, and www.screwattack.com. ScrewAttack has a video series on it called Buy It, Rent It, or F' It. They play the game on the video and tell, from their perspective, what the game is about and whether it's worth your time. Like all reviews however they all need to be taken with a grain of salt.

  7. My friend came over last night to blaze and play video games. We played Nazi Zombies on Shi No Numa on my 360 for the most part getting to level 15 (personal highest.)He also brought over his PS3 which we didn't really play but he left it over at my house so I'm probably going to game on that for a little while. He left me with KillZone 2 and MGS4. I've never played either, so any suggestions on which of the two has a better single player campaign? Is MGS4 one of those games where I have to know the backstory of the 1st 3 titles to know what the hell is going on?
I have no experience with Killzone whatsoever. As for MGS4...yes the story builds from the previous games, but it's not necessary to know it. Also MGS4 isn't your typical shooter. The basis of the game is stealth...ie...firing your gun isn't always the wisest decision.
  8. If I'm playing on a controller, I have to use the D-pad. IMO the analog stick is unintuitive for fighters.Garou: Mark of the Wolves comes out on XBLA tomorrow morning. Going to pick that one up.
I find the D-pads to be clunky and like the precision I can get with the analog stick...different strokes for different folks I guess.
  9. Installed COD2 just to go through the Veteran campaign on it, because as far as I remember I didn't complete that, so that's what I'm gaming.
If I remember correctly...good luck, that is supposed to be the hardest Veteran mode on any of the COD's.
I have completed the game on veteran, and I can verify that it is the hardest of them all. It took me over 4 hours just to finish the final level. I yelled every curse word I could think of trying to complete that game. All in all it wasn't worth all the stress it caused me, but I can at least say that I did finish it.
