  1. So I was watching train spotting the other day, and I noticed that Margarat was the underaged jail bait that Renton sleeps with. Also, Tommy, the square guy with a girl friend who ends up trying heroin and getting aids was Vorenus on Rome. I kinda freaked out a bit.
Yeah, nice little boobies in Trainspotting. Pretty sure I pulled it when I was 16.Not much a stretch but I think this season is going to end really badly for Jimmy, cliffhanger stile till next season. Too many things stacking up against him: Manny, dead wife, heroin, Nucky coming back with the vengeance, etc.
  2. Lol live poker. The slow play and discussion of "strat" tilt me so much.
I LOVE listening to 1-2 players discuss strat. Music to my ears. Its a constant reminder of how badly they misunderstand the game. Sometimes I even like to get involved and just say things that are completely wrong. It can be fun.
  3. How is this unfortunate? I think DN/everyone has to go in with this attitude. Otherwise you shouldn't be playing. Why did the British players have such a strong WSOP this year? Confidence. Jake Cody got off to a great start. The other players feed off it. It doesn't come off (at least to me) as cocky just confident.
I really didnt mean it in a shitty way, I just understand the enthusiasm and then to come up empty handed is unfortunate.
  4. Then next week it's WSOP time!!!!! I am absolutely going to smash/mangle the tournaments this year. I'm more prepared this year poker wise, having played mixed games at Aria, and then the run in the high roller tournament. I'm expecting long days, every day for about 6 weeks which means I won't be doing P90X like I did last year. I'll try to get some exercise in when I can, but my focus is going to be on winning, and there is absolutely no way I won't be winning. There are three high profile events this year that will get my extra attention: the $25k NLH Heads Up, the $50k Players Championship, and of course, the $10k main event. Have I mentioned yet that I'm going to crush this WSOP? Willing to take 3-1 on a bracelet bet and also willing to make bets on player of the year points. Let's gamble!
This seems unfortunate now.GL in the ME.
  5. I have no problem with Phil Ivey but what he is doing seems awfully disingenuous of him. I think if he was honest about it, "Im doing this to protect my own interests", most people in poker would side with him anyway.

  6. This game is a mystery to me. I understand which hand wins but the mechanics are weird.

Deuce-to-Seven LowballIn deuce-to-seven lowball (sometimes known as Kansas City lowball), in most respects, the worst conventional poker hand wins. Straights and flushes count against a player, crippling the value of a hand. The ace is used only as a high card. Therefore, the best hand is 7-5-4-3-2, not all of the same suit. The hand 5-4-3-2-A is not considered to be a straight, but an A-5 high, so it beats other ace-high hands and pairs, but loses to king-high. A pair of aces is the highest pair, so it loses to any other pair. The rules for deuce-to-seven lowball are the same as those for ace-to-five lowball, except for the following differences: The best hand is 7-5-4-3-2 of at least two different suits. Straights and flushes count against a player, and aces are considered high only. Before the draw, an exposed card of 7, 5, 4, 3, or, 2 must be taken. Any other exposed card must be replaced (including a 6). Check-raise is allowed on any hand after the draw, and a 7 or better is not required to bet.No-Limit and Pot-Limit Lowball All the rules for no-limit and pot-limit poker apply to no-limit and pot-limit lowball. All other lowball rules apply, except as noted. A player is not entitled to know that an opponent cannot hold the best possible hand, so these rules for exposed cards before the draw apply: In ace-to-five lowball, a player must take an exposed card of A, 2, 3, 4, or 5, and any other card must be replaced. In deuce-to-seven lowball, the player must take an exposed card of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7, and any other card including a 6 must be replaced. After the draw, any exposed card must be replaced. After the draw, a player can check any hand without penalty (The sevens rule is not used). Check-raise is allowed.
  7. For those that have read the books, I cant recall, is A Dance with Dragons the first or second of 2 books that are running in a parallel timeline? Im trying to decide if I should reread A Feast for Crows. EDIT: It is the second book. And I think I will just read a summary (anyone know where I can find a good one?) As I recall Feast wasnt as good as the first 3.
