  1. that's a good question...lol...i guess the whole dynamic changes. i mean, i'd be more inclined to put him on a higher flush at that point..i've made some crazy lay downs lately, due to the money playing a role. like i said earlier, it's probably my biggest fault/leak at the moment...separting the idea of the monetary value in order to just make the most profitable decesion...i will get over this soon.
  2. tell me this...what if i did bet 400, and he goes all in...?? do you call? fold? i really wanted to avoid this as well, because i felt he could pull this off.
  3. yeah, true dat...i really need to stop thinking about it in terms of actual monetary value...that's my biggest fault...i just started playing regularily again at the start of the year, after 7 years of just occasoinally playing - so i'm still adjusting to that whole "holy shit, that's like a week's paycheque" etc....i probably played about 50 hours in the past 7 years, and i've already passed that in 2010...
  4. i should note that villian and i have the biggest stacks..everyone else is hovering at the 200-600 level...
  5. i completely understand all this..and really, it usually easy to put into practice...but when you are stuck for 300, and actually got it all back and then some...and a chance to build on it more, you really dont want to lose it on a @#$ river card.. ...so yeah, i f@# up on this one....he took about 3 min to fold...he had AK, with A hearts...it would have been so sick to see him insta call with AQ of hearts or something like that...
  6. so is a shove on turn completely nuts? cause that's what i did...i made up my mind that i was not going to let him draw to the flush/full house...i should have just be the pot...
  7. Villain has me covered. I have about 1400, with 800 in. Originally bought in for 300, then re-bought for 500, and built it to 1300 pretty quickly, when i actually got nut flush over small flush...anyways, this hand comes up. I'm on the SB.UTG +2 raises to $20UTG +3 calls $20SB calls $20 - 7 8 - is this a leak? should i be folding? UTG + 2 is aggressive, and has a semi-wide range...BB calls $20Flop ($80)K J 3 SB checksBB checks UTG + 2 bets $40UTG + 3 foldsSB raises to $200BB foldsUTG + 2 calls $200Turn ($480)5 SB (hero) ?The pot is now so big, and if villian doesnt have me beat alr
  8. I agree, that i definitely should have re-raised all in at that point...BB didn't have enough money, and most likely it was a coinflip or i'm dominating him....yes, i know, i played this hand extremely bad. i dont even want to post the rest of the hand cause y'all are gonna trash my play even more...lol....but i will....once the turn came, i went all in, utg+2 folded, and button called with 3-4 offsuit...bb later told me he had a/q..oh well, we learn from our mistakes huh..utg+2 had flush draw that didnt hit on the river had he called..not like it matters...
  9. ok i know, the limp is horrible...but i'm sure, there may be some times where it's OK to to flat in the SB against 2 other limpers with A/K...but I'm not going to defend the play...it would have worked out much better...anyways, on with the rest of this miserable hand...Flop ($80)A 2 5 Hero checksBB bets $40UTG + 2 calls $40Button raises $100Hero calls $100 BB foldsUTG + 2 calls $60Turn ($420)5 Hero?At this point, I guess I should have commited on the flop and got it all in....?? In a way, I wanted to see what UTG did. Once he called, it was pretty obvious he was flushing. Thoughts on f
  10. balance..lol..i know, i should have raised...but, being that BB did anyways, do you think i should re-raised, given his image? i still have horrible position regardless..
  11. So i'm playing my 2/5 game that i started this year....its actually been great...making good part time profit..just waiting for the inevitable bad run to come...anyways, this hand comes up:UTG + 2 ($500+)- calls $5Button ($250)- Calls $5SB (hero) ($500+) A K - Calls $5 BB ($200) - Raises to $20UTG + 2 - calls $20Button - calls $20Hero - calls $20I really think I should have raised. Any thoughts? Here is my reads on the players:UTG + 2- good player, but a bit loose, his range here is suited connectors, pairs, definitely nothing over JJ+ based on preflop. Button - loose player, very wide r
  12. So do you think calling>folding>shove on river? Or folding>calling>shove? How about the rest of the hand? If u dont mind commenting a bit more..
  13. That's definitely a possibility....but being as far as i was in the hand, and with that odd river bet, would you give up? a c-bet would have to bet that flop, unless they are super passive...that's my thinking...anyways, i insta-called. i put himon a-k/a-q, with a big diamond...he mucked...i really think i should have shoved, just in case he had something like a-10/a-j/q-j, that i couldn't beat but he couldnt call..not sure if i would have called/raised river if i didnt make a pair...but all those combos, would most likely check from BB...especially with the image i had (for the time he sat
  14. dammit...i knew something was up...lol. i swear i had it at hearts..fixed now..
  15. i completely agree with this. i was hoping i wasnt the only one thinking this. the flop check is what made me decide to barrell. if c/raised, im folding, and if villain bets out on turn, depending, i'm most likely folding.....so on with the hand:on turn:BB checksHero bets $80 (too small in hindsight)BB tanks for a minute, and callsRiver $3608 FINAL BOARD Villain bets $165Hero?At this point, i'm thinking he either hit 88, or, he has air. HIS bet made no sense to me...
  16. I agree with you. Terrible flop. 9 timesout of 10 i check behind. My reasoning, for betting, is i felt i had a really good chance to get both to fold. SB was cfolding ALOT on flops, and he would normally bet out if he caught a piece or even a draw. I should mention that he kept saying that he needed to get back to even..definitely tilting.BB, is kind of the wildcard. His check on flop led me to believe he had nothing..so i wasn't betting for my draw, i was trying to take the pot away. Any aggression i was going to fold, unless the c-raise was the min...then i guess i could justify goin
  17. Ok, i'm in a live 2-5 game, in for a G. I'm at about 600, when this hand comes up. I've been playing tight, and the villain, whom recently moved to table 30 min ago, has folded every hand pre-flop. He has me covered.UTG - foldsUTG + 1 - foldsMP1 - foldsMP2 - foldsMP3 - folds Cutoff Hero (stack is $600)- calls $5 9 8 (i know probably should raise, but really, other than for taking the betting lead, that's all it was going to accomplish at this table, especially with SB state of mind)Button foldsSB (stack is $500ish) - calls $5BB Villain (stack is over $700) - raises to $25Hero callsSB call
  18. So i agree, if i should C-bet on this flop...especially with my holding, that has no showdown value if un-improved. But, what if i'm check-raised...do i continue depending on pot odds etc?
  19. the button's all-in was considered a "short" raise, as per the rules in the game i was playing, and therefore, when it gets back to me, and had the BB not re-raised, i would only be allowed to call....they said it has to be at least double the bet to be considered a raise...
  20. at this game, it's sometimes incredible how stubborn some ppl are...22-66 is def calling...and mayb two overs as well...just to hope i dont fire on turn....not all, but this guy was in that category for sure...but i'm not saying he was going to call for sure..
  21. well, i guess i did the donkish thing...i re-raised his turn bet and he folded....i had to meant to raise to 175, but i didnt realize my stacks in front were 100 stacks and not 125..which i had stacked them previously...i was chip shuffling 50, which i ended up pushing with the 100 stack...so it was a 150 min raise..i've been making stupid mistakes like this lately, since i started playing again...not putting the right amt in, etc.anyways, i doubt cause it was a min raise that he folded..a few of these players, tend to check raise flop with air, or fire turn after checking to raiser on flop...
