    but it was soooooted
  4. I'm always at odds of what to do with A + high kicker with multiple people limping in. Anything lower than AT I usually fold. 22 to TT i usually call and play for set value. JJ+ I usually raise. AJ - AK im not sure what I should do. If an ace hits postflop, do i play ultra aggressive with the risk of running into two pair on a board of say A 9 3? Because I might easily be up against an ace + lower kicker. I raise mainly to weed out people so it makes my decisions easier post flop but I admittedly don't think that's a good reason.

  7. Assuming you have no reads, I like it. Any standard raise pretty much commits you anyways. If I felt like he would ONLY come over the top again with hands that beat me, I might pop to 2500 and leave myself the safety exit just in case he had AQ, trips, etc. But since this is a 4.40... standard. And you might get called by QJ, QT, flush draws, etc.

  8. My original thinking on checking the turn was simply to keep the pot small. If he has a small hand, I'm not going to pick up a lot of chips anyways, but if he has a fairly strong hand (granted most of the time he doesn't) I'll be throwing away a lot of chips. I figured if he checked the river, I'd value bet it, or maybe induce a bluff. If I bet the turn, I get rid of a lot of hands that I have beat.Anyways, I called. He showed down 99 (Caught me completely unexpected). Looking back a day after, easy call. I guess I started double thinking the call based on results. Thanks for the responses.

  9. I guess another question would be: should I be openshoving this hand from EP?My own thinking is that I can get away from this hand if someone goes over the top and still have 1100 to play with.. but AQ is really only dominated by 4 hands so its probably fairly weak tight thinking. And the fact that I'm considering a call at all probably means I should have been openshoving this hand anyways since I'd rather be picking up blinds then getting called by a hand such as J 10, etc. (although it also allows me to get a flop versus weaker aces such as AJ, AT, A9 even if they call)As a side note, I feel my ability to play the short stack is probably one of the best parts of my game, which is why I feel like I COULD get away from this hand and still have a chance to get back in it.Anyways, I instinctively felt I was dominated (maybe it was how quickly the all in button was hit after I raised, I'm not sure) but convinced myself to call anyways after going through it "logically" (putting him on a range, etc.). He called down with QQ. Is it POSSIBLE to get away from this? Or do you really just got to take your chances this late?Range I put him on: AT+, 77+, KQ.. (too wide?)
