Local casino, 3/6 with kill making it 3/12 spread.I sit down with $60, husband and wife sitting next to each other opposite me (never seen them not lose several racks)First hand AA I raise, everybody folds but she callsXXX flop, she checks, I bet she callsx on turn, she checks, I bet she callsx on river, she bets I raise she callsturns over somethin like 7 5 suited for two pr on the river.Over the next 20 minutes I get, QQ, JJ, 10 10 and AK suitedthe betting went almost exactly as with the first hand, I was down $60 in no time, called for another $60 over when he says, "welcome to the world of low limit poker and my wife" I replied back, you can keep your wife but keep playing like that and I am going home with your chips.About 4 hours later they were down about $600 between them and I left the night up about $450, I hear they are no longer welcome as they got caught colluding.

You all are what make this forum such a great place to post and learn.Any advice going down the stretch? -
I am at work so cannot watch except through these posts, whats the payout ?Keep up the good play

Leader board still not updated

If I am playing for position then I would probably lay it down hoping that they dont end up with a chopped pot, its always easier to let other people knock each other out, If this had happened after the flop I might have a harder time letting go.

There are some pretty good payoffs on the on line tournys these days, Just wondering if anyone here has hit it big, or not so big.My best to date is,Paradise poker $2 buy in rebuys first hour (every night 11 pm PST) I played this on thanksgiving day two years ago, it lasted 4 hrs, I had 2 rebuys and the add on for a total buyin of $8, I took 1st place for $1395.This is still my best first place prize to date.

Mine was at a local casino, $30 buy in about 40 players (top 4 pay)I was pretty much blinding out, I had one $500 chip blinds were 300/500.I had one hand to play before I would be the BB.I had K 10, called all in, flopped two pr and tripled up, couple hands later K 10 again went all in again several callers (starting chip stack is only 1000, so by this stage of game lot of short stack players) again I pick up pot.I ended up playing only 6 hands the whole tourny, 3 of them were K 10 and I won the thing.Another one I really liked was at the same place just the other week, we had agreed to cut in a 5th pl so they take 20 off 1st and 10 off 2nd.I ended up HU with chip leader, I had three $500 chips he had everything else, he looked at the payouts and asked "how come I have to give up $20?"Tourny director says "you gotta win it first"I was all in first hand and double up when I got trip J'sI went on to pull ahead and beat the guy.....very satisfying.

I sucked out early to send squirrelbone home early, then followed him myself about 10 minutes laterwhat happened at the wednesday tourney that some people are requesting a doover? -
I am all for the do over, especially as the leaderboard has not been updated yet, and while you are at it, how about changing the time to 9pm PST, traffic around here is just terribleMoving the tourney to Friday is flat out stupid! What we should really do is just have a DO OVER on this past week's tourney. We should just act like it never happened and erase it from everyone's minds. In fact we should hire that hypnotist guy from the TV guide channel who makes all those people act like whacked out movie stars to make us forget it. I'm sure spademan will second this  -
Its cheating, the idea of the game is to take everybodys chips, by checking down a winning hand you have allowed your wife to keep chips that she otherwise would have lost, in a tourny that very well could make the difference of making it to the money or not.

And that is how I wished I played it, this was a no limit game, (last nights DNC) I called because I just could not put him on KQ (no raises) turns out he played it better and trapped me good. Thats poker.I did get lucky earlier when in similar position with 10 4 (again BB with no raise) I get a flop of 6 8 4, I bet, get one caller, turn is a 4 I bet my trips caller goes all in and I call, he turns over 7 5 for the straight, I get a 10 on the river and SQUIRRELBONE is going home early, sorry for the suckout squirrelLimit tournament, I check because the texture of the flop is likely to give opponents odds to call. If it's bet behind me in last position, I go for a checkraise to face the remaining two players with two bets cold. If it's bet immediately behind me and called in both places, I smooth call to see what the turn brings.No-limit, I bet pot or thereabouts to find out where I am and avoid giving any gutshots a freebie. JT is a very likely holding among limpers, as is QK, so if I'm raised, I get away and live to play another hand. This strategy has enabled me to break even for two years, and I think it will at least ensure you mediocrity over a large sample size. -
Not a bad beat story and I am not telling what I did till the end, just trying to get input on how people play hands, without telling them what all 5 cards are before hand, afterall its easy to say "hell, you shoulda folded or shoulda raised" when you already know what all the cards are, but its not so easy when you dont. This is going to end up as a bad beat story isn't it.I'm assuming you played the hand perfect but were outdrawn. -
I bet out 150, had one callerTurn card was a dud, 3c I thinkI bet 150, other player went all in..............what do you do ?Often we get someone post "should I have played it different" but they give you the results so its easy to 2nd guess when you know what the flop/turn/river are going to be.So lets try it this way.Still in first round, blinds 25/50You are BB, 3 callers no raise, you have K9o, you check.Flop comes 9 K Q,You are first to act, what do you do ?I will post what I did and the turn card later. -
Flop was rainbow, also this was only a few hands in so did not really have any read on other players betting patternsstill need more info...Do the players that are still in see a lot of flops? TAG's, LAG's???Is the flop a rainbow?Guest a guess, but I check... -

I got to play Phil when he came down to a 2/4 limit. He said he was only staying for half hour but he was real nice to everybody answering questions etc.I did take one hand from him for $8, may well end up being my only claim to fame.
-
Not my night tonight, time for me to go look in the mirror and do a Hellmuth, till next week good luck all
-
Just sit Phil at one end of the table and put a mirror at the other end
