  1. OK you professional gamer-type people...I have a question regarding Nintendo 3DS. I'm sure I could find it through Google but you guys are often quicker. If there are three different 3DS's in my house can all three race against each other in Mario Kart 7 with only one game or do they each need a game in their system?
If I'm not mistaken (It's been a few years) but I think the original DS allowed you to play some games with limited multiplayer (ex: only certain maps could be played with 1 copy) but you could race with only 1 copy of the game. But I have no idea how the 3DS works
  2. look at the previous page in this thread. was $98.99 last year.O NO DEFLATION
It was $70 over the summer. A friend of mine bought it and I borrowed it from him. I watched Season 1 and 2 on HBO Go the rest on the DVDs. They had some special features but I didn't watch any of them. But if you haven't seen the show, I'd say its a great investment of time and money even for $100.
  3. so haven't written in here for a long time. Just finished assassins creed 2 the other weekend and really enjoyed it. I had played the first one and got so bored with it didn't finish it at all but the 2nd one was awesome. Also just picked up battlefield. honestly wasn't planning on buying it but my neighbor talked me into it. For me playing with people I know is much more fun than playing by yourself. Haven't played the story mode and honestly doubt I will, hell I didn't even play the story mode for Black Ops.
I have Battlefield also for PS3. I have been a huge BF fan going back to BF 1942 and I really love what they've done with BF3. The online multiplayer is very good. The singe player is very similar to any of the CoD Modern Warfare ones. I'm playing it just because, but it's nothing special so far
  4. The only complaint I have is that they didn't show any of the battle scene. One of the reviews I read said that its possible since its a on a TV budget, setting up an entire battle would have been a stretch if they couldn't do it the right way. It just kind of jumped and they were like look who we captured. As someone who never read the books I was very surprised this episode

  5. I think this is meant to be sarcastic, but I'm too dumb to get it.AmX online only lets me pull a 24 month history and it appears I have spent $62,044.12 on this card in past 24 months. All of these expenses are spent on things I would have bought anyways, I just used the AmX instead of my Debit card.I guess this could be a 'dangerous game' if you don't have the discipline to pay it off every month. If you treat it like a debit card and only use it for things you know you have the money for then it's a win/win scenario.
I have my card set to automatically pay off each month directly from my checking account
  6. 12/02/2010 Thur YOUR ANNUAL CASH REWARD IS $679.11On track for about $600 - $800 again this year.If you are not doing this you are stupid, that is all
I got the Discvoer Cashback rewards, I got the card last April and for the year got about 1.2% cashback. I haven't used it yet, but I'm probably going to use it for a gift card. They have $25 giftcards for $20 so if you want to take that into consideration in increases the % slightly.
  7. Yes. Definitely Slot Machine. I think from a pure EV Calculation this is not a great investment. However, there is a fair chance that I'd be willing to do more than one such project like this in the Future and the experience that I can get is pretty unique. The value of that experience might be worth the investment.
True. It sounds cool that you will get to be a producer of a movie which could show at Sundance.
  8. I have a Friend who is a well established Actor. Many credits on his IMDB Page. Titles you'd recognize. He sent a guy my way for a Film they are working on together. Very low budget Feature Length Film. They had me review the Script. I've read many Screenplays, so I can see how they translate to the screen. I'd call this an "Intelligent" Script. Reminded me very much of the Screenplay for American Beauty. Similar feel. Character and Story Driven, easy to shoot without need for special considerations (Location, props, CGI, stunts, other special effects...)The investment is what I'd call Low/Moderate. Nothing I can't handle. I could write a single check for the amount and if I lose 100% I wouldn't be hurt at all. I'd be credited as a Producer and get 20% of the project (gross).Plan is to get it shot/edited and in the can this summer and then hit the Festival Circuit late this year or early 2012 - Sundance of course being 1st choice.I'd estimate that there is a Very Good to Excellent chance of the project being completed. Also a good chance for some budget overruns. There are some items that I think are under budgeted. I'd likely be first in line for them looking for additional $ to plug those holes if/when they arise. I know this going in and would plan accordingly.I'd say that the chances for any return at all on my investment will be low. Always a chance that if it is screened at one of the big festivals, it will get picked up for distribution. At that point, even with a limited distribution, I'd make many many (many?) times my investment. Very much a high risk of losing a low investment with a slight chance of huge return. Why are they considering me if the $ is so low? Partly because of the relationship. But my friend is already "investing" by taking a minuscule fraction of his standard day rate for his cut of the Film. The other guy is young and not yet established and doesn't have many $ contacts.Thoughts?
It basically sounds like you are playing a slot machine. Theres a good chance you get nothing back, but there is always the possibility of hitting the jackpot. You say the investment is nothing you can't handle. If the amount of money is not going to affect you now or in the long run then how is this different then taking your money to the casino other then you will have a movie at the end, which might be worthless.I hope that makes sense. Just trying to give you something to think about
  9. Outland--a downloadable game on XBox. The game play is kind of like Metroid or Mario, with an art style reminiscent of Braid. I like it, but I fear it's getting too difficult for me, and I won't be able to finish it.LA Noire--played an hour's worth, really want to stay home from work and play a shift.
Got it yesterday and love it. Its just something so different and the missions are pretty interesting and make you think a little
  10. My PS3 got hit with the YLOD a few weeks ago and I've tried repairing it a few times but it'll only last for like 30mins before it dies again. So, I've been looking to getting a PS3 slim. I'm considering exchanging a Boost Mobile Motorola i1 phone (I bought for $350 from Best Buy) that I used for 3 months for a PS3 so I've been checking around on Craig's List to see if anyone would exchange.I found a guy this morning on CL that said he has a 3 week old 320GB PS3 slim that he wants to exchange for a Motorola i1 phone and he left his cell number on the listing and said to text him.I text him and he says that he needs this phone because his wife broke the one he had which was his company's phone. I gave him all of the info on the phone and I asked some questions regarding the PS3. I asked what it comes with and he said he would include, COD Black Ops, Killzone 2, two controllers, and all original cables and the original Playstation box.I told him that I need to test out the PS3 before we exchange and he said that's fine and that I could come to his house to test it. I'm taking my brother in law with me as I don't want to get ass raped alone. It obviously sounds like a really good deal for me and I really don't care how this guy got a hold of the PS3.Can you guys suggest the things I should test out on the PS3 before I complete this exchange? Can the slims have YLOD also? Does anyone know how to check to make sure the casing hasn't been opened and that it is the 320GB version, or when it was originally manufactured? Am I crazy to think that this deal is legit and I'm not getting screwed here? Too me, as long as the PS3 is the 320GB version and in good working condition I don't really care how old it is. Also, I'm sure that if it is actually only 3 weeks old that I'd be able to tell based on the controllers as the joysticks are typically tighter when they are new and won't be worn out.Any suggestions would be appreciated.-Asimo
My PS3 died last summer. It was a system from launch day. I called up Sony and sent in my broken system and got a refurbished slim for $180.
