  1. Allright guys... Now lets just try to keep this place civil...Its extremely hard to stop the flame wars that happen all the time on this forum, just like they do on any other. Now I have a number of friends who left another forum, a rather large one at that, just because it wasn't what they wanted. There are a LOT of threads in General that could be moved to Strategy/Online Poker/Hold Em etc...This is one way to find the content thats important, whenever I have a post want quality response too I will post it in nearly any forum but General just for this reason.I will be "cleaning up" the general forum for the next few days, It's been a hectic couple of weeks and I'm working on something right now thats tying up 3-4 hours a day. Lets all remember why we are here, or why I hope we are all here. To get better at Poker! We aren't supposed to be thinking about what "mistakes" we're going to be making in our posts while we're writing them because people will come pick them apart...
Thanks, doubt it will help much though. Oh, and by the way, i love this thread, at least someone hasn't came in to argue about gummy bears....Que Justblaze........
  2. Not to be critical of this (but i will anyway) but....I enjoy coming to this forum and of course the ocassional argument, but take a look at many of the threads around here. While a forum is a great place for the disucssion of ideas, it seems that most threads just turn into pointless long winded arguments, then comes the name calling, and the original point of the post is completely lostTake Smashes last update for example. Smash clearly explained that he was on tilt and explained his process. Then justblaze comes in and states his opinion poking fun at how everyone appears to kiss smashes ass, other people hop on the "my opinion about something completely off the subject" and away it goes.Just wondering if i'm the only one who finds this annoying. Is there really a need to argue every single point in every single thread?if it's just me i'll shut up.

  3. Yeah, i got something like 25 bucks a while back and blew it all. I was free and it wouldn't let me cash it out, so i played some high limit table and lost it real fast, i had to go to work anyway and didn't want to get my hopes up all day about getting to play.

  4. My wife doesn't mind me playing, but it's important too balance time for both. Take it from me, women hate being neglected :D I'm not allowed to play online for real money from our bank account because i lost $200 one night playing completely drunk. It was bad, I looked at the hand history and i was capping bets preflop with like 7 3 os. Anyway, I sneak money in here and there and play very small limits, but I have had good success playing live. I'm pretty sure as long as I keep winning, she won't mind me playing at all. Also, it works out great. She doesn't want to come watch me play because it's boring, and i don't want her to watch me play because i know she won't be having a good time. I'm one of those guys that actually cares about that stuff :)We cool like that yo.

  5. calling a raise preflop with 2 3 is a gutsy move, but it is something I have done once in a while, just to see if i can get lucky. That's not really a bad beat, just a loose caller who got what he was looking for. He know his 2 3 was a worthless hand, but he played it for a reason, and hit that reason.Sry.

  6. i'm registered on poker mountain as "Solinar" but thinking of changing my name to "JohnCrapper" because that's my handle on most other sites.I only have one rule for poker$$$$ -- Standard Tournament Play -- $$$$ Go all in, in the dark, pre-flop, 1st hand. You'll be a millionare in no time.

  7. Good post, but as opposed to the other 9,000,000 posts that are just long winded arguments, this post does not need to be argued with or commented on. I know it's ironic that i'm posting this, but seriously, let's not argue this post for once please, just follow it.Thanks.

  8. I'd have to go with Mike the Mouth. While he may be a great player (and he is, his winnings prove it) i just get embarassed for him. While trash talking is one thing, he just takes it a bit to far and just ends up making an ass out of himself. I hate watching him play, just my opinion.

  9. I knew this would get slightly heated after just reading the thread title :)This is pretty hard. If you are talking about the best main event player, it's probably gotta be Harrington and then Chan. I mean, making the final table in 03 & 04? Sheesh, those fields were huge and he made 3rd and 4th?On the other hand, Chan made 3 in a row and took 1st 1st 2nd, that's crazy as well. Doyle might be great, but as far as main event performances go, these 2 are tops.

  10. The obvious play is too forfit the game. Head over to the bar and get a head start drinking!Just Kidding, just throwing some flare in here...It's pretty obvious that pushing is the best play. Arguments could be made for min raising, but i doubt that is the best play, time to make a stand. Definitly don't call or fold.

  11. Nothing is wrong with spreading the word about this site and Poker Mountain. The more people that come, the bigger the community grows, the more revenue Poker Mountain generates, more etc...etc....I say tell everyone. I enjoy playing at Poker Mountain, their philosophy of starting everyone with a decent amount of play money and only having low limit play tables and tourney's attracts the kind of players I enjoy competing with.I say, spread the word!

  12. IMHO, the show just can't hold my attention. If others like it, great, but i saw this episode, and was forced to change the channel after the dude got all beat up and his chick (matador's daughter) came in, saw him all bloody, and made him feel bad and acted like she was the one who was hurt and he is just some huge jerk.Gimmie a break, even all bloody and bruised, i'd still have to clock her one.

  13. This show is actually quite retarded.First of all, it's Game Show Network, everything always has to be over the top on this channel. As crappy as it is, Many of the "second tier" pros have to be enjoying this poker craze. Heck, i'd love to be on a tv show just once in my life!btw, by "second tier" I mean that non "big game" players. I seriously doubt Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Doyle, Chip, Barry, Chan, etc... would ever play poker on the Game Show Network.
