  1. He actually had AAKK DS with the nut flush draw, which left me around 22% to suckout on him, obviously not good. Considering that he is agressive and it is 5 handed, I figure that I am toast if he has 77,44,22 or an overpair with a higher flush draw. Those are the only 4 hands that have me beat as I am roughly 60% versus ONLY an overpair, having two pair, trips and flush outs. Id say about 90% of the time its standard that anyone who plays in my game makes a continuation bet regardless of the flop (thanks to doyle). With this in mind, he is going to bet with virtually any hand post flop. All things considered, I thought the odds of him having one of the four hand types which I mentioned would be very unlikely, when you consider the chance that my bet will get him to fold anything other than an overpair with the higher flush draw, or a set, I feel that my play is justified. I play a lot of PLO/LO8/PLO8 so I understand the game a great deal... can you guys really just put him on a monster hand like that though? Its not like he was playing tight, or passive after the flop.

  2. we are playing Pot limit omaha high in a home game. Im dealt 97J8 which obviously is a pretty good starting hand. Now while I am only suited one way I do have position. Anyway, some agressive player raises it up the POT and I call, having position on him. Everyone else folds. the flop comes an innocent little 742 with two diamonds, giving me top pair with 3 overcards and a jack high flush draw. He makes a standard continuation bet. I re bet 3/4 of that pot, he thinks for less than 2 seconds and says all in. He only had a few more dollars left so I called it. Question 1) Is this a good flop for our hand in most situations?Question 2) what do you put the player on, who is going all in and raised pre flop, with that sort of a flop.Question 3) In your opinion is this generally a + EV situation to go all in with my hand on this flop, in a shorthanded (5 players) situation?

  3. since this is an online poker, non DS small buyin tournament, This is an instant all in push on the flop in my opinion. If you check they bet, and you obviously have to go all in with this massive chunk hand. Two overs and the nut flush draw is a beast. If you check and they make a standard continuaton bet, they are not going to fold to your all in, or at leas they shouldnt (asumuming they have a pocket pair/pair like you are puting them on. I like your play and strongly encourage this sort of agressive play after the flop. Had it been a deepstack tournament against very good players I would CR all in knowing that I am 50/50 or the favorite over their holdings if they call. If it was a deepstack tournament with low quality players I would usually just call and hope to hit the flush and double up.

  4. Hey everyone how have you all been doing? Im personally doing great right now. I just got back into online poker after taking a break for a while. I cashed out a while back and am now primarily fooling around, but Im working on building up some more $$$ to take to the casino when I go in june. Im going to Turningstone on june 20,21,22... so its going to be a good time. Right now im just hanging out on FTP as Ralgoth, playing 2/4 Lo8 and loving it. Had a few nice cashes, but missed out big on a 5.2k payday and only got $381 (9th) It was very sad but im certain I will have a big score again soon. As far as the casino goes, if anyone wants to meet up at Turningstone just let me know it would be nice to see someone from FCP. Im going to go play now, just wanted to say hello to the forum since I have not posted to everyone in a while. Good luck although most of you dont need it lol

  7. At a friends house. We were doing dealer's choice, which revolved around primarily PLO8 and Stud no qualifier mixed with some No limit holdem.Anyhow, I had this sick hand come up which I was generally pleased with my play and, I dont know I just want to bring it up. I had KJJ9 one suit. The tightest player at the table, who will not raise unless he has at least AA with low cards to go with it, makes a standard raise. At this point, I'm certain he must have AA2X or AA35 something on the lines of that. Maybe even suited.Flop comes down 10107, which I can assume missed his low hand. So I bet 3/4 of the pot on the flop. He calls the bet. And at this point I am almost for certain putting him on AAxx because he does not call here with just a runner runner low draw. I cant put him on any range of hands which include a 10 or a 7 because I know, from everything that he has done in the past, he will not play a hand like 78910. The turn card comes a 3 putting a flush draw on the board now. At this point I figure well he must have a low draw now, but he probably doesnt want to gamble with AA and a low draw if he knows I have a 10. Well so again I bet 3/4 of the pot and he raises. Calling on the memory bank of his play style, his hand selection, and his style of play, I could not put him on a hand. He had never slowplayed a singe hand in Omaha and constantly attacks people who do slow play in omaha because of the dangers. So naturally I trust me read (which has served me well for my entire poker lifetime) and push all in which at this point is not much more at all. It ends up that he had A4107, which for him I thought to be an extremely loose play. He basically plays like a rock and went against the style hes been playing for 3 years of poker. I was actually shocked. Anyway, he took the pot as I failed to spike the jack on the river, and it was shipped to him. I dont feel bad about making the wrong read on someone. I looked back into his hand history, what he plays, how he plays them. We know each other's games pretty well. I'm still very surprised, it was a good play. I still dont feel bad about the play though. Because I watch DN make blunders all the time, its OK when I make them too.Had another sick little hand... dam was it juicy. I had A35Q Flop comes Q104. (Plo8) guy bets 1/2 the pot. Second guy calls. I call. Turn is a 6. Guy bets the pot. Other guy raises the pot, I go all in, they both insta call. 1010K9 vs QQ6J. So im shitting my pants, just praying for any of my billion outs to come. It didnt come, QQ won the pot, and I felt sick. But its OK. It just sucks because I was running so hot last week. I made $800 in one week of playing .50/1 Lo8 /Stud variations and .50/.50 PLO8/NLH/PLO and I bought new tennis shoes, re strung my racquet, bought a few nice meals, and bang, I lose $600 of the profit this week. At least ill be going to Turningstone casino on July 16,17,18 which will be extremely exciting!!!

  8. Sorry to say, but you are the donk. Anyone who knows anything about poker knows that you don't bluff a calling station, and you don't try to outplay a fish. You wait out a fish and wait for them to make mistakes, then you capitalize on them. Plus, your going all in just to steal the blinds and his raise? Risking so much of your stack like that? Only an experienced player recognizes and respects a tight player's raise. Personally I hate the play of just going all in. It is essentially saying "I have nothing, I am only doing this because I think you have nothing and can't call." I pick that **** off every time. Its the worst play ever. Even a fish can spot this one out, and he had a correct read on you, so I applaud his play. And the fact that your angry makes me laugh. On top of that, you manage to yet again get yourself into a losing situation with KQ dominated by someone's AK. I was hoping to read something like "I flopped a set of aces, trapped someone into going all in on me drawing to only a gutshot straight draw, and it came on the river. We were both top 5 in chips and it was a $5,000 event" THEN I could see your frustration... but please grow up, you got legitimately outplayed.

  9. After my first "real downswing" a few months ago, I finally hit my first "real upswing". Been playing for close to 3 years now, and I have seen it all. Anyhow, this sick hand came up. I had AK 4 handed one off the big blind. I limp in. The button raises, SB folds, BB who is TAG raises. Generally at this point, I put him on 99,1010,JJ,QQ,KK,AA,AQ,AK,KQs I am generally at this point LAG, but my raises are respectable because I'm not MANIAC style. Button is loose passiveFlop comes QJ9. Good flop for me in most cases, but since TAG is in the hand, I am slightly concerned. Tag makes a continuation bet, which is obviously made after any flop. He bets $15 and has about $68 left. I have about $120ish. Almost instantly I'm just like "whatever, if he has a set, then F it all I have 4 outs, I cant put him on a set here unless he got really lucky. Plus I'm thinking that if he has a set, then he would check it because I was clearly going to bet. Then after the Button calls or raises, he can make up his mind since we both clearly have good hands. Either way, with just one bet in front of me, I cant just say he has a set. So I go all in. Button folds. TAG thinks for like 2 seconds and calls. Before he shows his hand I announce "straight" he flips over JJ.So I'm like "I'm sorry" (because I know it is coming) the turn card is obviously a blank, and the river is a blank. So im like DAMIT!It was so unfair that I did not suckout on him, but then I realized that the Button player had not burned, and instead only turned. So I called him on it. He corrected his mistake, and this time, the 10 fell on the river. He was brutally punished.Anyhow, thats not how it really happened, the burn and turn was correct. But did anyone see that movie Lucky you? It was pretty good I thought. I just wish DN would have said one word. Or any of the pros for that matter!Anyhow, I'm running really hot now. I'm up almost $900 in about 30 hours of poker at .50/.50 PLO8, PLO, NLH, STUD8, STUDREG and LO8. Wish I was playing higher stakes. Hopefully when I go to TURNINGSTONE IN JULY 19,20,21, I wont hit a bad streak!!!

  10. my best advice is, don't chase draws unless you have the odds. never check call with OESFD, go all in with them on the flop... sometimes on the turn if you think the person is going to fold. But at the stakes you are playing, im assuming your not playing high or medium stakes poker... at the stakes your playing, just play tighter than the people around you. At low stakes poker it is rarely the one who outplays everyone as much as the person who waits for cards. Sad but true. Keep up the good work, and also. I find it is good to decide if you want to specialize in tournament poker or cash game poker. Until you become very highly skilled, it is not going to be easy to be good at both.

  11. I thought those heads up matches with Dreamclown were limit not NL... which would be completely different, meaning that having a short stack does not just mean picking a hand to go all in with. Although I could be wrong.

  12. people who say "nice hand" are *usually* losing players. One of the first real lessons you learn in poker is that you do not encourage your opponents. You dont compliment them, and you dont talk to them unless it is to gather information. Unless it is in a social environment where you are just pissing money around to friends.Anyhow, yeah like the post way above me. What the hell do you say when you suckout. Sorry? Thats why I dont say "nice hand" I have never said it. And I want to slap people in the face who say it at the table because it is very stupid.

  13. I have abused my chat SO MUCH at the CASH GAME tables. So much.... and the worst I ever got was a warning. I think it depends on how much you contribute to their site. I for one have contributed over $10,000 to FTP at least...Although none if it was sexist or racist. Just stuff like WTF were you doing in the pot. Are you Fing retarded? You Fing suck at poker. What the Fing hell, how can anyone get that lucky. Grab your ankles, Bend over. Or after I win a big pot I say "Punished, slaughtered"Not once did I use any racist stuff though.

  14. In my room, next to my computer, I have a bottle that I relieve my liquid wastes into. I have a bucket for when I have to take a dump. I also have a refrigerator beneath my computer (which is on a table) and a microwave to the left side of my monitor. I find that this is the best way to deal with any problem that comes up. And yes the refrigerator is stocked well with energy drinks, because sleep is for the weak. If I'm only playing a 24-30 hour session, I generally will just wear a diaper, however if I plan a longer session, I will use the bucket.
