That is a clear and present raise, probably to .08 or .10.The one thing I noticed running through the hand histories was a lack of aggression from you, preflop or postflop. Maybe it was a function of the table you were at, but when a table is playing a certain way, you should play the opposite. Thus, if it's playing prom night virgin tight like that one was, you need to get more aggressive. If it's playing fast and loose, you need to tighten up. Table analysis is as important as analysis of your own play. Did you raise more than once in that whole run there? And it was the minraise with KK? (as said before, badbadbad)One more note.. on the first tournament hand, when you raised AI with 17.5BBs with 22 from the BB.. take your flop there with 5 limpers in front. With 22, you really don't want multiple calls, and you're likely to get them there. Setmine, fold to a bad flop, realize you still have a level to play with.

  2. LOL Hi.. Name's Kendren. Been at another forum for the last few years. Still checked in here now and again... XXEddie knows of me, I think. Never been much of a strat poster, never felt my vast $5er and .25/.50 experience would help anybody. Thought I'd chime in on a couple questions here recently, though.I hope to chime in some more around here.. OH and O/8 have always been the redheaded stepchildren around here. Keep fightin the good fight!

  3. its also funny nobody voted for bet out when that is clearly the second best choice.
Truly. I voted check/fold. It's the classic trap... sure, you got the nuts now, but any low is freerolling you. Leading out will earn you much more information, and possibly give you control of the pot. But with the pot size, c/f is the best option.
  4. I agree with you, we want to get as many chips in there as possible. We'd also like to possibly fold out someone with a better hi right here on the flop, otherwise you're getting your chips in hoping not to be quartered. While I would like to see a pot on that flop after the action, I can see an argument to build the pot by flatting. But to me, pot>>>>>>>>>>>>>>call>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>fold. Minraising doesn't figure in there. :club:

  5. Wouldn't a raise there pretty much make me committed for all my chips though?I was already in need of a double up.Thanks for commenting everyone :)Oh, and tilt is wearing off!:PokerStars Game #25686502471: Tournament #144057490, $10+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Level XIV (800/1600) - 2009/03/06 22:39:48 ETTable '144057490 239' 9-max Seat #7 is the buttonSeat 1: Packerbcker (36636 in chips) Seat 2: Acekob (11470 in chips) Seat 3: kidDYNOKILLA (67556 in chips) Seat 4: qwert007 (14825 in chips) Seat 6: rockhound24 (7855 in chips) Seat 7: Jonas Seger (21561 in chips) Seat 8: BigFernando9 (17879 in chips) Seat 9: n0ob1z3d (90418 in chips) Packerbcker: posts the ante 150Acekob: posts the ante 150kidDYNOKILLA: posts the ante 150qwert007: posts the ante 150rockhound24: posts the ante 150Jonas Seger: posts the ante 150BigFernando9: posts the ante 150n0ob1z3d: posts the ante 150BigFernando9: posts small blind 800n0ob1z3d: posts big blind 1600*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to Acekob [Js 6s]ZekSeven is connected Packerbcker: folds Acekob: raises 9720 to 11320 and is all-inkidDYNOKILLA: raises 9720 to 21040qwert007: folds rockhound24: folds Jonas Seger: raises 371 to 21411 and is all-inBigFernando9: folds n0ob1z3d: folds kidDYNOKILLA: calls 371Acekob said, "time to suck out! See? Feeling better?
  6. :club: I would think it would be fairly obvious why. What are you hoping to accomplish? If you're trying to control the pot, why are you raising? If you're trying to fold A8xx or A5xx, why aren't you potting? You've reopened the action to the flop raiser.. if the better or the raiser 4-bets, are we calling? If we are, why not try to gain control, maybe fold the flop better, and pot this? If we're going to fold to a 4-bet, why did we raise at all? Idiocy.
  7. In my experience in $5 FTP STTs (which is about all I play), you have 2 types of player that will do this out of the BB. They'll call your PF raise with ATC, and lead at any flop (I saw it on TV!), and are willing to fold to a pop. Then you have those that have seen those players, and think you'll pop them with your decent hand while they're sitting with a monster. By your description, if you've figured him for loose, I'd cal him the former. Raise the flop to 700, I'm not enamored with an all-out shove. If he wants to play for all his chips, you still have enough left behind at this level to make a decision. My first instinct when seeing the action was "Utter bluff". 80% of the time, leading out in this manner is weakness.

  8. If your numbers are at all true, you have to be up against a set here. l/c/c pre, 2 bets each called on flop, popped the turn when FD presents.. EDIT: I could see calling down to check your sample numbers. I wouldn't call that bad play. But I'm certain we're beat here.

  9. If you arent getting it in here in a 3 dollar sng, I would recommend not playing PLO. Against said opponent Id high five the monitor then click call all day long.Jeff
Or high five the dog, your mom, your Chewbacca figurines.. whomever, just get it in there. wp, forget the guy who berated you as a fish when you hit against his set.
  10. You're way ahead of CO, so all we have to worry about is MP1 and MP2. To showdown with them we are only risking half our stack and there are only 2 hands that bother us. I really can't find any reason to fold here. I reraise all in and make MP1 & 2 risk their tourney to come along.
I disagree with this. If CO has an A or K and one of the MPs calls with any pair, we're not in real decent shape. pokenum -h ah ks - ad 8c - 7c 7d Holdem Hi: 1370754 enumerated boardscards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EVKs Ah 490367 35.77 852162 62.17 28225 2.06 0.3688c Ad 247890 18.08 1094639 79.86 28225 2.06 0.1917c 7d 604272 44.08 763359 55.69 3123 0.23 0.442Worst case, one of them has us destroyedpokenum -h ah ks - qs 5d - ac as Holdem Hi: 1370754 enumerated boardscards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EVKs Ah 79536 5.80 1276004 93.09 15214 1.11 0.063Qs 5d 182114 13.29 1184333 86.40 4307 0.31 0.134As Ac 1093890 79.80 261650 19.09 15214 1.11 0.803So to say you see no reason to fold here, is silliness. 11. Heavenly father, please watch over Daniels Mom in her hospital bed and give her strength to pull through. Be with Daniel and his family in these hours and give them courage to remain hopeful, and hear there prayers as they turn to you God. Daniel is a good man, God, and loves his mother and speaks of her like no one I have ever known, unabashed honor and love. Please be with him as he deals with this time in his life and watch over your child as only you can. In Christ name I pray to you, amen.
I haven't prayed in a long time, but I'll take this and run with it. Beautiful.Keep your faith, Daniel. We're all with you.
  12. My impression of low-stakes players is that they're usually pretty passive, and I'd be surprised if the typical villain at this level would c/r with less than AJ.
I agree with this, you're not going to find too many at this level raising that. You're more likely to be getting raised by air than a weak ace, and neither are very common. And if they're going to raise the flop with Ax spades, why would they not 3-bet shove the turn? Spades make no sense here.
