  1. Don't really know/care... and I haven't noticed ElkY at that game in a while.I didn't really post here to talk about him, and I don't think it's really anybody's business about the specifics of his poker-playing. I only mentioned him to explain what the hellll I was doing sitting at 10/20.Why do you ask?

  2. So I'm playing with a friend of mine a couple nights ago, around my normal stakes ($2/$4 NLish) even though he plays much higher, so I agree to sit at $10/$20 NL with him for TWO rounds... just for shits and giggles. (I REPEAT: I follow BR management... 8) )Anyways, long story short, I get KK 5 hands in, end up taking down a $1200 pot with quad kings against someone with ... 8 high. My biggest pot ever, woopdy friggin do.That's just a side story: I've rolled up to $2k on stars since I've stopped cashing out recently. First, understand that I have zero, I repeat, ZERO interest in taking on any game above $2/4 or $3/6 NLish for now, until I get my BR up to where it's supposed to be. ZERO. Interest. However, what I am posing is a question for anyone who has experience with the $10/$20 NL on stars, since I'd guess there's a few of you here...Is it really as soft as some people say it is?? I know I know, there's some good players and some bad players, but overall, what has been your experience in it? My friend is a consistent winner there (to say the least) and constantly talks about how soft the game is.Obviously, my brief (BUT GLORIOUS) stay there means absolutely nothing... this is really just a question out of complete curiousity. It's just amazing to me that some people will sit with $2k at a table and still be that damn bad.Any info would be super-spectacular.Thanks!-hoosierAKs

  3. We all had a little time to hang out before heading back to Wynn for dinner and I had a chance to talk to Chadwick and his wife Holly a little more. Now, this is what blows me away: I have been an MTV reality show freak for years and have watched almost every season of Real World and Road Rules. Something about Holly and Chadwick looked familiar to me when he finally let me know that they were both on Road Rules!
YES! I was thinking... Chadwick and Holly... Holly and Chadwick... why does that combo sound so damn familiar...f*ckin' awesome.
  4. I sure am enjoying this thread.  I love when people get flamed and then feel they can prove their worth by beating someone in a heads up match.  You got flamed not cause of your skill or lack-there-of in poker, but because you wrote something stupid and or are an idiot.
Alright Smash. NY 27k, best 2 out of 3 heads-up. Winner takes home the 27k. That's the most I am willing to put up. Take it or leave it.
    So...? What's happenin'?

  6. I had a chip lead late in THREE huge PS MTT's tonight (NL, PLO, LHE)... ended up finishing 30th, 30th, 15th.In the NL, the key pot was my AK v KJ v KJ, turn Jin the LHE, 22 v KJ he bets out at a ragged board, i call him down to the river, river Kin the PLO... well that one I just choked. :x yeah that's frustrating. and yet not once did i hit anything, or any dumbassery of that sort.

  7. Had a hand late in the $10 NL I just busted out on...had chiplead and KK in SB... yeah yeah national anthem goin off in my head, then...short stack UTG raises all-in UTG... yay.slightly bigger stack re-raises all-in in MP... mmmmk.then, 2nd place in the tourney (only a little behind me) RE-RE-raises all-in....I sit there with my KK, wince, and fold. Then, I REALLLLY wince when it shows:UTG: JJMP: Kh2h (wtf?!)Big stack: TTFlop: JhTh3h...Kh2h flops the flush, JJ flops top set, TT flops middle setKh2h holds up...With THOSE HANDS, I was in FOURTH PLACE on the flop.Wow.

  8. the biggest pot i have ever won playing NLh live games is 1052 dollars. hugeeee. playing 2-4 nlteneight
Mine's about 300 less than that at the same stakes. $1000+ in 2-4 is insane, I thought $700+ was ridiculous. And yeah I was nervous with this flop, but not too nervous when the diamond came, since I knew he couldn't be drawing to the nut flush, so unless he had a set AND the flush draw, there's no way he'd stay. Then again, he stayed with bottom set on this board... so what can I really say.If the board paired, this laptop isn't in one piece right now, I'll say that much.NH
  9. 3) Telling me that I don't understand variance is a joke. I have admitted many times that a fair share of luck was involved in my tournament success this year. At no point did I say that I expected this to be the "norm", or anywhere close. Only a moron or major egotist would expect such continued odds-defying success. Furthermore, being a full-time cash game player, I certainly have plenty of experience with variance. I had my worst 6 weeks ever this spring, and on Pokerstars itself (thankfully not anywhere else) I've had an astoundingly frustrating year in the 100-200 game, to the point where I have wondered how far real variance can actually go on one site. (I see that's another thread of mine from NWP that has carried over here.).
True story, I did see him up against a friend of mine in a hand, when my friend had 4c3c, board was AsKs3s (something like that, I'm half-botching this story) and I believe Druff had the flush, and my friend hit runner runner 4 -3 for a monster pot.RIGGED

  11. twin caracas always seems to have a stack of over $10k on the $2k max buy-in 10-20 NL ..... I rarely see H@llengol ,or however you spell it ,lose either. Babyhan tears up the 100-200 Limit
Also, you gotta realize that the winning high-limit PS players will go on and on about how incredibly soft the 10-20 NL game is there.Prahlad Friedman is great, but I think most people don't realize that there's a bunch of the winningest online players that we have never and most likely will ever know. To point one out and say he/she's the best, let alone that no one else is even CLOSE, is hyperbole.
  12. This is actually kind of annoying.  No, I didn't "chunk off" a big lead in that tournament.  I sure did have a huge lead and kept if for quite a while.  Then the limits went up, I played three hands PERFECTLY and got crushed on the river by a three outer, a flush, and a two outer.  Yeah, I gave away my chips allright... oh brother.  Seriously people, all you have control over is making the right decisions.  When the cards spit in your face there is no secret formula for avoiding disaster.  The guy finished 1st and 3rd which is awesome.  It can also distort your perception of reality.  He is a good player- I remember playing at Stars with him- but he will soon understand that luck plays a significant role in the late stages of any tournament, ESPECIALLY limit hold'em.  Last year I finished 1st and 7th in two WSOP limit hold'em events.  This year I cashed in precisely two events, both limit hold'em (36/22).  I played well in both those tournaments, but couldn't get lucky late in the tournament.  Happens.    As for me not being focused, or giving my chips away, or blah, blah, blah, all I can say is that I don't want to moan about the beats I took, but what exactly can you do about this:  A guy won't stop raising me when I have the absolute nuts and he has two pair late in a tournament.  The board pairs on the river and I'm the donkey who chunked off my chips.  The board doesn't pair and I'm a genius again, LOL. :-)
Move this BS to the Bad Beat forum please, mods..........sw.
