  1. Implied oddds, but because of stacks, it's pretty shaky heads up. We need a lot of money in the pot to make these hands pay. We have made the pot so big, and committed everyone to this pot, and we are so close to being good here, that I think there's only one move and that's to push.
Implied odds arent that great. Villain only had 110 left after his raise. Not to mention we have to worry about the UTG limper who could limp-reraise and lock us out of the pot, or if he folds we've lost our chance to rake in a big pot. I'd fold preflop.
  2. Hey guys.Just a quick couple of questions.Hey guys just trying to find out a few queries i have, (Not including the check knock)1 - Why does the dealer knock before he deals the cards ?2 - I saw on a poker movie that one player done a double knock (knocked on the table twice) to another person then the other guy replied with a single knock ? anyone know what that is ?Cheers
Why is everyone leaving the theatre during this scene? Sounds to me like they're just checking.
  3. Down to three people. 1000/2000/200Hero - 75,536Villain - 42,409UTG raises to 6000, SB folds, I flat call from BB with JsQsFlop Qd 8s 10s (13,600 in pot)Hero checks to let Villain c-bet and hang himself.Villain bets 13,600 and Hero shoves. And over and a gutter ball and he decides he should still call with Kh9c. Turn is Jh and I immediately start looking for the nearest fetus to hurl into a wall. $600 for 3rd. Pfffffffffffft. Poker sucks.
At least he was getting near 3 to 1, not the worst call in the world.
  4. Definitely not +ev for your opponent to call with TPTK after a solid flop bet like that from you and with the OR cold calling before him and players left to act behind him. I know a set is tough to fold, but if i'm UTG+1 there's no way I'd call off a big stack like that with the 4th nuts and a lot of draws out there on such a coordinated board with so much action in the hand. In fact, why is he cold-calling the first bet in the first place? He can't get away from the hand no matter what happens anyway.......You were pretty fortunate to get the action you got, but also lucky of course for avoiding the flush and full house.

  5. You suspect your opponent is on an open ended straight draw after the flop. What is minimum amount you should bet to make it a wrong decision for your opponent to call?a. 1/3 the potb. 1/2 the potc. 2/3 the potd. checke. none of the abovep.s. this is all the information you have.
You can bet 5x the pot and it could still be a correct call depending on stack sizes.
  6. Last night I was playing a home game with 7 handed 1-2 NL. Everything was going good until this one particular hand. I am on the button with AK and there was 5 limpers I raise the pot to $18. The guy that is first to act after me thinks and calls, 3 players muck after him and this other guy raises (who is known to put plays with donkey hands) to 35. I push all in, I got about $350 and both of them covered, the other 2 guys have about 60-80 in front of them. Guy who orginally called the $18 raise goes all in for $65 the other calls I cant really remember what he had it was like 65-80 range. So the flop comes out K84 and the guy that first called goes "oh thats a great flop bring the clubs" and sure enough the turn is a club and river is an ace. He flips over his hand J2 of clubs and everyone at the table has this puzzled shock look like WOW how the **** do you call that and get so lucky. I ask the other guy what he had, and if he had a big pair and he said noooo way you had me crushed. So I took down this little side pot of like 15 dollars or so. So Im asking this guy "how do you call that? and he gets this cocky look on his face and acts like he is the best player" I play with this guy all the time. He responds by "because it was you raising." So ovbiously he has a target out for me???? But his call is unjustified no matter what anyone says $18 preflop first caller out of position and than calls when someone raises and pushes all in, wow donkey. So I am just waiting to get my money in a pot and give this guy a bad beat. I get 10 9 on the button again and raise to 22 (several hands later) the same donk that called me with J2 of clubs pushes all in for $96. I got about $650ish at this time so I decided to gamble and hope to give him a bad beat. The flop comes out KJ6 turn is a Q and river J. He doesnt show his hand real fast so I knew he didnt have a full house and I said "I got a straight...." he shows pocket aces and starts going on this rant "you're going to call me with 10 9 off suit?????????" my only response was "now you know how it feels when I lost to jack duece!" and he just kept going on and on all night how that was the worst call in the world. Got to love the irony in this one.So has anyone else have a TARGET when they play? I don't think its a good idea, but this guy ALWAYS targets me and majority of the time he loses so I dont understand why in the world he tries to run me down all the time. I was wondering how you guys deal with this as far as being targeted?
He played like a donkey and then got you to play like a donkey. Nice.
  7. 200 views and one reply? So that means, it's a retarted idea?
Actually I take it back. I didn't understand taking the risk from 70 to 200, and I think 50/50 deals are fairer, but now I realized that you included that daily part in there. So when I actually think about it, assuming he actually has some winning sessions, you'd get your investment back pretty quickly and then its all gravy from there. So go for it if you can trust him and like his skills. But how are you going to really know his daily results? And if he doesn't pay you immediately, he might lose the BR and be in debt to you.
  8. ding ding dingagree 100%, only hand he can put him on i think. based on preflop action that flop probably wouldnt hit a hand booth had, if it did it would be an extreme situation and calling would be more profitable in the long run based on how few times booth would reraise pre with 66-77
In the 2p2 thread, someone posted that Ivey and Booth talked afterwards and Ivey said he put him on AA. Barry Greenstein also posted that Ivey has never even seen Booth, and he had no idea how he plays. Barry said he would call pretty quickly against Booth in particular.EDIT: Damn. Got beat by a few seconds.
