  1. As usual, the devil is in the details. For instance, if the WPT has a clause that says a player's likeness can be used to promote the WPT TV show, then I think most reasonable people would have no problem with that. However, if the WPT goes on to make non-TV show related products, such as video games, instructional videos, etc, and are saying they own the players' likeness for such products for ever and ever, then I think most reasonable people would say that's over the top and should not be allowed. So what are the details of that clause?People are arguing the merits of a case on here where probably only the principles involved have the required knowledge about the details. Without that knowledge, I won't consider any of the opinions on here "informed".

  2. Kinda sad though of what Poker has become in a tourny like that. It's not just the big Pros and semi pros and a few amateurs. It's full of noobs, internet qualifiers and people just wanting a shot at a cool 12 million dollars.Sure that makes the sport popular as well, but when the winner can very well be another no namer again, it kinda makes everything a little out of whack.
I don't mind a no-name winning it all, but it would be sad if there's not a single recognized name at the final table.
  3. Johnson All-in Versus NegreanuOn a flop of 8d6h2c James Johnson ($59,300) leads out for $6,000 and Daniel Negreanu ($331,000) calls. Johnson bets $6,000 at the 7d turn and Negreanu raises to $26,000 and Johnson moves all-in for $43,300. Negreanu calls with 9c9s versus Johnson's QcQd. The river J brings no help to Negreanu and he loses a big pot early, falling to $271,700 while Johnson doubles up.
  4. Here is an important tip for all of you: When you aren't 100% sure what your opponent declared and you don't see any chips in the pot, you should ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS clarify his action before you proceed.
I agree when you are not 100% sure, but in the case with David Williams, it sure looked like you were 100% sure that he said "All-In", and that I am 85% sure of :club:
I've been lurking on this board for quite some time, but haven't felt the need to post until now.I swear some of you intentionally say provocative / stupid things just to irk Daniel into responding. What's the deal? I saw the WPT episode in question, and I saw absolutely nothing wrong with that hand. When Williams declared all-in, it looked like Daniel didn't hear him, or if he did, he wanted to make sure he heard it right over such an important part of the tourney. Then when it was confirmed that it was an all-in, having nothing more than a pair he wanted to analyze the hand and think about the odds that he was beat. He took a whole 3 seconds to do that. And for that he's accused of slow-rolling?
