Yesterday's poker question with the 66

    Call 29%

    All in 15%

    Raise to 2200 36%

    Raise to 4000 20%

Best answer is call followed by R to 2200

So my answer is: "quite silly." Sounds like me and my game.

That's why Daniel is the best in the world, and I'm not even in his universe.

  2. Fell asleep early last night. But I've been playing some tournaments today.

The most significant difference I see between PS and the other sites, 888 WSOP, Party and Borgata is the tournament structure. There is so much more play on Poker Stars. The starting chip stacks and blind levels allow for much more time than the existing sites.

    A big improvement.

  3. I'm back home from the hospital and feeling much better.

I jumped into a $5 NLH MTT that started at 11:00Am here. There are currently 306 players logged in.

My tourney is currently sitting at 27/51 players.

Besides the NLH cash games there are PLO tables going, both H and H/L. Stakes from $2.50/$5.00 to $0.05/$0.10

There's also one table of 8-Game $1/$2 which has a 1 person waiting list.

I plan on putting some decent time in tonight. It will be interesting what a Friday night looks like.

  4. A Quick summary of Poker Stars in New Jersey.

This will be shorter than I'd like... I'm in the hospital and people are coming in and out jabbing

and poking me as well as asking me all kinds of questions and listening to my lungs.

At about 14:00 EST there were 357 users logged in when I signed in.

It's been a few years since I've played on PS, but the user interface looked somewhat familiar and wasn't hard to figure out al all.

My biggest impression was the variety of cash games they spread. It's been a while, and here is NJ the last 2 years, the sites basically spread NLH and PLO. Not much else... pretty boring and bland.

Here is the list of the cash games spread:

    Limit Badugi

    8 - Game

    Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

    PL 2-7 Triple Draw

    NL 2-7 Single Draw

    Limit 5 Card Draw

    PL 5 Card Draw

    Limit Razz

    Limit Stud

    Limit Stud H/L

    Limit Omaha H/L

    PL Omaha

    Limit HE

    NLH (of course)

Forgive me for not having the buyins. When I get a chance I'll try and add them later. But after the drought here in the States the last 5 years or so this was like Heaven.

They had a tab for something called ZOOM. But there were "No games of this type available at the moment." I have no clue what this is supposed to be. Perhaps someone else can be of help.

There is a tab for "Spin & Gos" which I've heard about but never played until today. They spread 4 buy-ins of NLH

$1 to win up to $1K

$2 to win up to $2K

$5 to win up to $5K

$10 to win up to $10K

I played a few $2 games. They are 3 handed and the $2 started with 500 chips. I don't know if there is any difference at the other levels. My crappy run from years ago continued and I lost each one in typical suck out fashion. (Didn't care.)

They also have SNGs. I'll be back with more detail later.

Their MTTs covered a pretty good variety of games, NLH, PLO, Stud. And there as a nice range of buy-ins from freerolls and tickets and $0.10 up to $500 for the Sunday Majors.

Their Sunday Majors looked to be equal to the other NJ sites in buy-ins and Prize pools. But I'm a micro stakes donkey so I really don't play those.

It was really good to see PS back in the USofA. The spread of cash games alone put a smile on my face.

My playing while here will be limited. I have an iPad and a Surface Pro 4 to use. The Surface Pro 4 is useless to play with. I can login to the site, but after about 15 minutes, it tells me that they cannot determine that I'm in New Jersey and kicks me off. I've had this issue with the other sites in NJ, so it's not just Poker Stars. I don't know if it is Windows 10 or something to do with the Surface Pro or the combination, but it sucks. That leaves me to play using the App for the iPad. I can stay connected wit it, but the interface is extremely limited compared to the full blown model.

When I get home and fire up my Mac, I'll be looking forward to spending more time playing the cash games and some tournaments.

In short... a truly welcome return to the US and New Jersey. I'll probably be spending most of my poker time on PS when I get back home. My only minor disappointment is that they no longer allow player to player money transfers. No more 180 man SNG barrages. Oh well...

  5. So depressing to see greed put an ugly finish to what started out as a exciting and innovative idea to put some life into poker.

A few individuals managed to reinforce the image of poker as a shady game inhabited by corrupt people whose only goal is to fleece unsuspecting amateurs.

The payout is a slap in the face to any players.

  6. From the WSOP website: "After four colossal starting flights, drawing around 5,000 to 6,000 entrants each, Event #2 of the World Series of Poker, The Colossus $565 No-Limit Hold'em event is heading to Day 2. "

They made it through Day 1. The numbers are still being crunched to determine total entries and how many advanced. Here's a link: http://www.wsop.com/...05&dayof=142054

I'm impressed that they pulled it off without any major glitches. (As far as we know.) That's a lot of players to accommodate in a short amount of time. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if they try it again next year.

Can the casino put a cap on the number of players for a tournament?

  7. Watch out for the scooters. This year in addition to the Senior Tournament (50 and over), they will be having a Super Senior Tournament (65 and over).

Some 75 yr. old ought to wear a hoody and earphones as a joke

Another pathetic post from the biggest joke on this site. Perhaps when you have aged some more you may gain some wisdom and class. I doubt it.

  8. There have been Heads Up Limit Bots for many many years. Some like the U of Alberta one in the public eye and others developed to play online against unsuspecting players.

I'm sure you're right Bob. I just thought it was interesting that this group claims their algorithm is: "incapable of losing against any opponent in a fair game”. Pretty strong words.

Worst day for Asians since Hiroshima.

    Too funny.
