  1. wow that's crazy. Something seems off though, with the article saying the player "lobbed" the puck in to the zone. Happens all the freakin time for some reason, the kid looks up and sees you standing there, you get out of the lane, give him plenty of room to play the puck in to the corner or opposite side, and for seemingly no logical reason, he fkin winds up and wings it pretty much right at you.

  2. I prefer the direct auto, but it's not a dealbreaker. I have a few "personal scripts" from 06 trilogy that I really like, where the player wrote an inscription or something on the card along with their autos. I'll have to pull those out some day.

  3. eBay?BTW, I'm still torn on how I feel about cutting up vintage items such as The Rocket's gloves.
ebay takes ftp money? nah, I haven't seen much on the 'bay at all and don't feel like spending >200 a stick, since I'm probably going to drill a hole in it anyway and just put it on my wall
  4. haha, as far as buying packs or anything like that - never again. I'll buy or trade for a nice habs' card here and there though for sure. Actually, that brings something to mind -- anyone have any lines on habs game used sticks at all? I need 2, maybe 3 to finish off my office wall. Can trade cards or pay w/poker monies :club::)

  5. We were just talking about this at work...and as much as I like the guy, I think it's Price that has to go. The team just has no confidence in him, and it shows in how they play when he's in net. He's not the type of goalie that can come in and stand on his head while getting outshot every night by a 2:1 margin. He'd be great on a defensively focused team that could clear the puck out of their own end and limit the shots against, but this isn't the club for that.

  6. with you i think we'd more likely trade no? Do you mean all PENS autos or all autos in general? I didn't see anything else pitt related in my box, but I only looked through one.I'd trade the low end/jersey/rookie crap for similar canadiens if you have anything.

  7. I was going to ask white's coach, who I know well, for the player
fwiw, I'd only do this for a major where I'd kicked the kid off the ice and didn't get the number before he went off due to a skirmish or something. For your every day run of the mill tripping penalty, just wait a second to see if a kid follows you to the box and if not, just pick somebody from the group...lol
  8. BUT, I will say this.... I think a lot of the animosity was created by serge.... NO ONE on here has made more trolling posts than serge.... needling habs fans and pens fans, constantly making derogatory remarks, etc.
So much this. Just for fun, I used the search function looking only for the term "poutine" in posts made by the departed serge. It returned in no less than THIRTY THREE threads, and I'm sure there are multiple references IN those threads about it, I'm just too lazy to bother looking for them.I'm as guilty/more guilty than anyone of busting his balls, but as Chris said, he's not without fault either. The difference is, I'm an adult and can take it just as well as I can dish it out.
  9. From the Toronto Sun:The Maple Leafs’ boss was talking up a storm Saturday, declaring the Leafs were not out of the playoff race, but were ready for any trade scenario, either before the NHL Olympic roster freeze in three weeks or the frenzied follow up to the March 3 league deadline. The Leafs have just concluded two days of pro scouting meetings in Ft. Lauderdale and Burke hung out the ‘Open For Business’ sign right after.

“We rate all the teams, rate all the players and are ready to move if a team steps up,” Burke said. “If I could make a deal today that could propel us into the playoffs, I’d make it."
uh, is this guy fkin drunk? What trade exactly could propel the Leafs in to the playoffs? Ponikarovsky and Stajan for Malkin and Crosby?
  10. -You really think I'm serge don't you?-Seriously, I'm not serge. From what I've gathered in my trolling days, serge doesn't use any of the punctuation that I do. I'm a fundamentally different human being. Also literally, and physically.
haha, now I know you're not serge, cuz you made me laugh - and you were able to respond to my post without ending up in tears or telling me to %* myself. You're now good people :club:
  11. You're....2/3 right. Serge is almost certainly older than I am (22?), thus he has seen more futility than I have, and probably has a better recollection of some of the disappointment (GG Kerry Fraser) ...what did he cost you, other than the chance to get beaten mercilessly by the habs, just as the kings were...than I do, thus every glimmer of hope to him looks like the sun exploding. Can't really fault him. Yes, we can. Being a fan of a team is one thing. Acting like a crybaby over meaningless internet postings is entirely another. I've grown up as the generation X of leaf fans you might say: dedicated, but bitter and cynical. The countless other leaf fans? Same boat (Kessel Vessel?) as serge. We're the biggest hockey market in the world, and shit tends to get blown WAYYYYYYY out of proportion here. Bad things (have the mob trashed Vesa's house yet? Slackers.) there will be no mob going to Vesa's house - nobody cares enough, just add him to the pile of goaltending failures of MLSE management...what will be more interesting to see is what happens with the "monster" as an RFA this year (barring him having yet another heart attack - but who can blame him) , but also good things like new potential (ie Phil Kessel). The TO Media, MLSE, fans, EVERYBODY general manager by way of trading away 3 premium future draft choices put WAY too much on Kessel's shoulders. They set hopelessly impossible goals and are now going to lay the playoffless carcass of the leafs 09-10 season at the feet of Kessel and his 13-game scoring slump. Which is absurd. Nobody's blaming Kessel for the Leafs not contending this year except for Ron Wilson, who's resorted to taking pot shots at an under-talented team to cover up his poor coaching decisions. True hockey fans understand one guy can't do it all on his own.However. I don't think Burkie REALLY believed it when he said "We will contend for a playoff spot". He had to realize he had average and unproven goaltending and very little firepower up front, even if he thought the defense would be a lot better (Even I figured they'd be better defensively than this). If you truly believe that statement, that only adds fuel to the fire of you being a secondary account for the departed mr serge (come to think of it, you're posting a lot today since his supposed departure)
