  1. Ok so I datamine, use PTO and AceHud. These together generally give me a wealth of knowledge about my opponents when i'm sitting at the tables, but I really feel like i'm lacking in my note taking. Genereally I'll open the notes I have on players ands its something like..."weak aggressive in O8 5/10" or something along those lines...I feel like I should be doing a little better than that. What kind of notes do you guys generally use?

  2. Hey everyone,I'm looking for a software program that will record my screen while I play. I'd like to run a few SnGs and Post them on my website to allow you guys to give me imput on how you may have done things different. I'm not a holdem player at all (I prefer taking advantage of the limitless bad players at O8) but would like to learn the proper way to run SnGs. I have read threads and articles on how to play NL SnG's ect but feedback from a community you value opinions from is priceless (insert random priceless posts below). Also I havn't been able to find the answer to this via my less than amazing "search" skills. Which NL SnGs generally yield the highest ROI on FTP? I personally have issues running more than 4 SnG tables at once....4 short handed games gets a bit ridiculous and anything beyond that I start timing out on and would hate to bubble because i'm to slow ect. Does the fast turnaround from the 6man NL Turbo games make up for the "crapshootiness" of them?As usual thanks for the help. :club:

  3. I have A LOT of free time on my hands these days with my current job and was wondering if anyone does any sort of regular "training techniques" outside of actually playing poker to sharpen their skills?I remember when I first learned poker years and years ago I actually made flash cards and memorized the odds of making hands based on the number of outs left in the deck ect....this was before i learned the # of outs x 2 or 4 trick lol.I also use to lay out 3 cards and then tell myself the top 5 hands. All of these things are trivial these days, but i'm just curious if any of you actually do anything outside of playing and possibly reviewing hands on pokertracker to help sharpen up the old poker mind.

  4. If your playing poker as a Job then treat it like one and get on a regular schedule. Take lots of short breaks and step away from the computer during these times. If poker isn't a job....well just play w/e games/limits you can afford without going broke and stop worring so much about building a roll :club:

  5. So I ran into someone today while sitting a soft 8/16 O8 who asked me to come with him on a smoke break. I don't smoke but was curious why he would want to talk to me so i followed. We got outside and he asked me if I had ever considered working with a partner in the O8 games.I told him that I wasn't a cheat and to leave me the hell alone.I went back to the table gathered my chips and cashed out.Once I got home I started thinking of how often this may be happening....and is it really cheating?Like if i'm giving signals to my partner to check or raise...anyone who is paying enough attention could catch on and use it against us. But if we were somehow communication our cards to one another that would be very unfair....I dunno the more i think about it...the more i have mixed feelings. What do you guys think about it?

  6. Does anyone here use the PTO or PTS?I remember using PT for Holdem and it was great...but it was dealing with much less information. If anyone has any experience with PT for Omaha or Stud could you post here on how well its been working for you and does it track Hi/Lo games smoothly or is the information overly cluttered?Seems to me like the number of required hands to get a feel of your opponent given their position ect would be astronomically more than that of holdem...

  7. I'd recommend not trying to build a BR from $25. I'm sure it IS possible. But the level of play from the .05/.10 bracket to the 1/2 bracket is soooooo diff the "knowledge" you would gain from those levels really isn't going to transfer over.My advice is to get a "real" job. Set aside 25% of w/e fun money (money after bills ect) you have each pay period for a month. Take that money and deposit it into w/e online pokersite you would prefer. Now start grinding out the Sit'n'go or ring games, whichever you prefer. Your varience should be less in SnG's if your worried about that.I'm not going to outline how much you need for the various levels ect as their are 100's of threads already stating that info...but my advice is work on your discipline. If there is anything that breaks players its their lack of discipline. If you can't play within your means at these levels you'll never be able to make it at the higher levels....Basically never put yourself in a position that can bust you...and if your losing at your level take a step down...no shame in beating an easier game!

  8. Ok so i used to use Neteller for all my online withdrawl transactions. It appears from what i've heard they did some shady stuff and are no longer an option for use.So my question is for the Full Tilt players. Which of the deposit/withdrawl methods do you use and how quick/easy is the turn around and registration process. Thanks again,

  9. You deposited 200$ but are playing in a 3/6game?? Um, BR management dude...
I'm BR'd for 30/60 live O8...but i'm not willing to through a bunch of money into an online site without the proper software and awareness for any gameplay over the 5/10 level. I'm under the assumption most of the players in this bracket aren't really using much for poker software.....although i could be mistaken...................If anyone could provide links to the sites with the software you use, I would be very grateful. Thanks
  10. Hello everyone,Its been a looooooong time since I’ve posted here. I stopped playing online just before FCP opened its own online poker site....so as you can see its been a day or two.I will be traveling over the course of the next year so playing via Casino will be a bit more difficult. So i've decided to get back into playing online again. A couple days ago I deposited $200 and have been running well at the 3/6 to 5/10 HORSE and HOSE tables. I'm up to just over 1k and would like to continue moving up, but......Back when i stopped playing online their were various software programs that helped out online players...Poker Tracker and Ace Hud were very popular.I'm curious what the most current software programs are that players seem to be using today. I don't want to move into any sort of higher level online play and be handicapped. So until then I’ll stick to the low limit stuff until i can get back into data mining ect.I appreciate the help guys.Take Care

  11. With trips and quads? No! If they are terrible passive players, don't set up bluffs.
OK maybe i confused some people. This was meant as a preflop situation...If your holding XXXX with the exlusion of trips or quads in your hand preflop. Should you be evening up in the small blind when your getting 11 to 1 odds on your call?
  12. Ok so i see this all the time when playing PLO8 on Full Tilt.4 Limpers + BB + SB..BB is very passive. The SB will fold preflop and not even up.This just seems like it should be wrong. Your getting 11 to 1 odds preflop to call with a VERY slim chance of a raise comming from the BB. It seems that with any 4 cards excluding trips and quads you would have the correct pot odds to even up.Am i wrong or should i be folding more in the SB?

  13. Playing a SNG last night and it was down to 4 handed when I made a crazy realization. The guy to my left had the button which would make me the cutoff, however I was first to act, which would also make me UTG.So which is it?  Am I UTG or in the cutoff or am i high?
