  1. You wre right ot get in preflop from the BB position. In this situation I would have put Darren on a high pair (AA, KK) and Dirk on a straight draw after seeing the betting patterns on the turn. So the question is what to do at this point with bet and raise infront of me. Well at this point I have implied pot odds around 8.5 to 1. And I have 9 outs (2 J, 3Q, 4T) so my odds are around 5 to 1. Pot odds outweigh and I call.In the end my assumptions may have been wrong but that is my honest answer. I am still learning, but that is how the situation plays out in my mind.Peace
  2. This is getting off course but think of pot odds this way. How much do I have to spend to win what is in the pot right now. So, in this case you are putting up 2800 to win 5825, giving you 2.08 to 1 odds.Peace
  3. Ho K. In this situation I call the small blind. Sure pott odds are against me a little bit here. But my thinking is this:It is more then possible that with a small pair such as 5-5 and everyone folding infront of him but myself, he figures I raised just to scare out the the buitton and SB. So that makes his small pair a favorite, and he is short stacked so at that point he either folds or goes all-in. We know his decision. So based on my thoughts of what he is thinking, I figure I have prety much a 48% chance of taking this hand. But, I would also be knocking someone out (assuming tour
  4. I just started taking poker seriously, and started reading about it a month and a half ago. My first book was Play Poker Like The Pros, and I am now on The Theory of Poker. Next is Super System. I love to learn about the psychology and strategy of poker. I actually asked a question on this to Dan on the Fan 590. That is just me gloating. lol.Anyway, I would have to say Phil Hellmuth had some good stories but he plays way too tight, or preaches to play way too tight. As I read The Theory of Poker, I must say it is an excellent book that has helped me understand odds and positioning. Exc
  5. Sucks to be American. No offence. Here in Canada downloading is legal and free. So if you have videos of Daniel, sign up to Shareaza and share them that way. I have already downloaded a number of videos of WSOP and of Howard Lederer from there, oh and Rounders (The Bomb).Peace
