  1. Okay,None of this makes sense. “Sugar”, only needed to call for 25% of 5,000? so I assume he wanted to make a deal in order to get 37.5% of the pot. So we have (a) Possibly make a deal with a man who is not familiar with bad beat jackpots in general, let alone the one at that particular casino, and hopefully win 37.5% of 5,000(B) Call a $6 bet to get 25% of the 5,000 (over 1,000) of the jackpot….which is very very rare and it makes it a good day for the entire table. But he indeed,© foldsI have to conclude that Sugar is insanely greedy…to the point that if he can’t have it all, then no one gets anything. Sugar just should’ve

  2. Well, the 10-20 Omaha 8/ half kill was pretty soft....but I am a white college kid...and it was soft for me you bigot.Suppose I would've said that I was constantly picking off the cartoonish Asians who seemingly couldn’t wait to give me their money? I would probably catch a lot of heat.

  3. I play both...two completely different games.Depending on the table...limit hold'em often has larger pots. I would even argue that limit hold'em requires more skill in several areas of the game to beat it consistently. Limit can also be more profitable if played correctly. Most limit players are not scared of no limit. If you play baby no limit...that would be like asking you if you are scared to play 50-100 limit. It actually makes me angry that no-limit is sometimes considered to be inherently "high-limit". At the Bike in Los Angeles, I was placed in the high limit area to play 1,2 no limit. I buy in for 200, and my friends who are playing 5-10 (low limit) are buying in for the 300...yet they are not "worthy enough" to sit in the high limit area. Also consider this...the Big Games are all rotated limit games.[/i]

  4. Actual situation in the poker room of the Atlantis Hotel/casino in Reno, NV:Out loud to the table during a 3/6 limit game -After complaints from players followed by a warning from the room manager about how long he was taking to make his decisions on every street on every hand (nearly 30 to 45 seconds), this player raises his voice with authority and says,“…I know what I’m doing….I watch ESPN..” Again…a true story

  5. I run into arrogant ******* players of all ages. You fail to talk about the angry mid aged man who is unhappy with life who harasses dealers, screams when he looses, and turns tomato red when he is having a bad night....and has little to no concept of the game of poker.I feel your pain about encountering asses at the tables...but there are asses of all types, ages, genders, races, high limit low limit, everything. You can combat this more by addressing the larger problem, rather than foisting this on an age group.

  6. The half hour fee is what the NYC card clubs do....This method should not be used in any casino..take a big-picture perspective. If you put in a four hour session - thats 40 bucks...nearly a fourth of a standard 1-2 baby no limit buy in. It's almost turning poker into a regular casino table game. Mark my words..you will never see any nevada poker room use this for nl hold'em.

  7. can anyone tell me if there is a place in vegas that spreads a variety of omaha hi/lo games? Even omaha tournaments?also looking for a live razz, or lo draw game.Perhaps, is there a place in vegas where poker is offered in variety...any suggestions?

  8. I was there four weeks ago...when i was there, the rake system was still the ol' winner of the pot pays the rake (which is an unusual way of taking rake anyway)...there were no timed fees...And at a casino, there should never be timed fees. So to answer your question, three weeks ago there were no half hour fees at the limit tables. If in fact they've added fees, I will not go back.I write about the poker clubs in NYC and their half hour fees in this bloghttp://terrancemlane.blogspot.com/2005/04/...oker-rooms.htmlI also wrote about my TS trip in this one. http://terrancemlane.blogspot.com/2005/04/...is-weekend.html

  9. 5-10 horse would be great...i'll check it out. I"ve played at the G Nugget before and enjoyed the room. I heard that they moved the poker room away from the pool though...is this true? i'm gonna be at the Aladdin...from the 2nd to the 7th

  10. I would not be concerned about the player who moved in on you....but you already know this...as far as the caller...this is where information on past hands is essential. If he called quickly, you're beat...if there is any hesitation..i would probably call...but again, this is assuming I had no informaiton about this player's past hands. www.terrancemlane.blogspot.com

  11. I have...i didn't play no limit, and it was a year ago, but from what i understand they have many no limit games starting with 1,2 (200 max) to 2,5..5,10 and maybe even moreAlso, last time i was there the Palms was the only poker room in which smoking was permitted. If you don’t want to be around smoke, you will have to go somewhere else (unless this has changed).

  12. Last year the Golden Nugget, located downtown, opened up a poker room last year. I enjoyed it. So many hotels have poker rooms now. Most have low limits, but some are trying to spread bigger games. I may try the Adladdin, they have a new room, I've never been there though. LIke i said, so many places have rooms, so if i were you, i would call around and get tournament info... www.terrancemlane.blogspot.com
