  1. We can win a side pot of 530 x 3 + 80 = 1670 by investing 530 - 80 = 450. Break even at 450/1670 = 27%

This looks like a loser to me.I'm confused on who's calling here. It's UTG who is super gambler, right?

i think UTG+1's range is too tight here, but even expanding it a little prob. doesn't make it right. OP can probably find a better spot, but if he's looking to gamble and the BB is going to call with that range then maybe. Problem is BB might not be as predictable as this, this uncertainty leans toward a fold.
  2. Just a heads up for those looking to accumalate w$ through low buy in sats the 2-7td satts are softttt. I have very little expirience in this game but even I know not to call 3 bets then discard 4...lol! One guy was still discarding 3 on the final draw against a stand pat calling bets every draw.
the guy standing pat should probably raise.
  3. I dunno. Maybe we see things differently, but the fact is the guy purposely SAID something to influence the hand. My mistake was to actually pay more attention to what he said than to pay attention to the hand itself and how it had played out. I felt he said what he did to represent weakness when, if fact, it was rather ambiguous and could have meant strength and he was complaining he wouldn't get any action.Personally, my stance is that people in the hand should not speak unless spoken to by the person on whom the action is. The person whose turn it is to bet may speak and may solicit questions, similar to DN's style. When the action is not on you and you start yapping, you should have your teeth knocked out.
if a pot is heads up in a cash game you should be allowed to say pretty much whatever you want. Online saying OH CRAP MISCLICK is different I think, maybe its just my opinion. That being said if you reraise someone who says they misclicked you got it coming to you.OP, did he ship or give back the $12? he shouldve shipped 17.60 i think, he shouldnt get the profit
  4. I got played like this in a tourney once. I think I had a flush or something, board had paired, when a 4th of the suit came on the river, my remaining opponent says "Oh, crap. Not a good card" or something like that and probe bets. I had 2nd nut flush or I might have boated, i don't recall, but I shoved over top of him. He insta-called with quads and eliminated me.Frankly, although I don't engage in this BS myself (I think it's closer to cheating than not), I still think I'll need to learn to process it better, as a lot of people do it.
not even in the same ballpark
  5. what does the W stand for then?I know T$ is tournament $
i dunno, but i do know:W Dollars (W$)In addition to our Tournament Dollars, we also offer special W$. W$ can be used to register into any qualifying special PokerStars event.Special poker events currently include: * PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) * European Poker Tour (EPT) * PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) * *World Series of Poker (*WSOP) * World Poker Tour Championship (WPT)When you win a seat in one of the W$ special events, for example a seat in the 2005 PCA-WPT event in the Bahamas, you must play the event and will not be allowed to unregister. If you win multiple seats in the same event, the value of these seats will be automatically credited to your W$ account. If you win a seat to a satellite for a W$ special event, you have the option to unregister from the satellite and receive W$. W$ can be used to register in any W$ special event.
  6. Well gee, thanks for finding my response legitimate enough to respond to.Yes, indeed my response was intended to refer to the fact that we're all happy when we take a lot of money off of someone, and therefore makes your broad, general statements about people taking joy out of other peoples losses obsolete and hypocritical.Misleading? Maybe a little, insofar as I didn't intend to mean we should take joy in a community member getting fleeced for a lot of money. With that said, nor should one fell pity.He wasn't robbed at gunpoint, he wasn't infected with AIDS while giving mouth to mouth to some dying kid in Africa while suffering an open cold-sore, his loved one wasn't struck dead by a meteor. That is to say: nothing that happened was beyond his control. He put something on the line, and lost. It was a deliberate risk.Shit happens.
reaaallllll friendly community we got ourselves here.
  7. Ok, so maybe 95%, but this looks very very much like he did it on purpose - kind of like Brad Booth's almost-fold on Poker After Dark. It's actually not even original, I have heard of exactly this move before.
for sure, happens a fair amount. I don't know why Alaei would read this as weak though, couldve taken advantage of the cheap flop on someone who "wanted" to raise more.
  8. Think about the point of poker and consider how stupid this statement is.Anyway, tough nite Fluff, keep on keeping on.
it's different when their loss is your gain, but when someone from OUR community loses that much money there shouldn't be any joy here
  9. Good game?i guess, i didnt see any coolers.i did however see a hand that wasflop4,6,7turn Qriver 3and you checked called the entire way with 5,7and yu even check called the river when the 3 hit. No flush draw.you might not remember that hand since you played like 8k hands. But when i saw you turn over 5,7 on that board and just check call check call check call, i was wondering why you even bother playing Hu?
wow dude, way to point out one poorly played hand by the guy when he just lost over 80k. try not to be such a fucking asshole
  10. I'm surprised it doesn't seem like they're going to get 16 players. You would think Stars would know their uber-high stakes clientele well enough to know if they intended on playing something like this.
there were 17 registered either yesterday or day before, i dunno what happened. They may still run it with 8 no?
