  1. Hero is dealt A A UTG. Preflop-- Hero raises, 2 folds, Button 3 bets (Very Very LAG), blinds fold, Hero calls-- I don't want to give away my hand quite yet. I'm setting up a check raise on the turn. Flop-- Q T T -- He probably caught a piece of it with AQ or KK/JJ. Maybe QQ or TT, but that's not very likely. -- Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls-- Turn 2 -- Hero checks, Button bets, Hero raises, Button 3 bets.... hero callsRiver 6 -- Hero checks, button bets, hero callsPlayed well? Didn't cap preflop because it was heads up, there was no chance of him folding, and I'd gain a lot
  2. I realize that this is a hard thing to really define, but how far do you go with your continuation bets... both in and out of position?Example-- 5/10 at Pacific with lots of LAGs and Lpsv'sIf I raise preflop with AK, AQ, KQ, etc., bet the flop, and then get called by 1 guy, is it usually a good idea to fire again if he checks to me on the turn and I miss?Against more than 1 opponent, I'll just take the free card and give up on the pot if I miss usually. I think a leak of mine is continuing again on the turn out of position. Heads up should you bet into a caller on the flop out of position?I
  3. Here's what ended up happening. a) I check min. raised the flop for value. Clearly, he's way behind, but I don't want him gone quite yet. Maybe he thinks I'm bluffing?B) I weak lead the turn, and it worked perfectly, but I want him to call my reraise. Got him to put 5$ in on the turn. c) I think he's got Kx on the river, and don't want him to fold. I bet 40% of the pot or so, and he called. The hilarious part, was he had J9o for the second nuts yet didn't raise me!I love calling stations.
  4. Heads up, I didn't see any reason to raise preflop. I was just trying to milk a few bucks out of him if i hit top pair. Played well?Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed) converterUTG+1 ($54.75)MP1 ($97.55)MP2 ($44.7)MP3 ($39.05)CO ($49.25)Button ($50)SB ($49.5)Hero ($59.12)UTG ($36.7)Preflop: Hero is BB with Qs, Ks. SB posts a blind of $0.25. 2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, 5 folds, Hero checks.Flop: ($1.25) 6s, Kd, Ts (2 players)Hero checks, MP1 bets $0.5, Hero raises to $1, MP1 calls $0.50.Turn: ($3.25) Qd (2 players)Hero bets $1, MP1 raises to $2, Hero raises to $5, MP1 calls $3.R
  5. is there a hand converter that works? I tried using the one in the sticky, but it put a bunch of weird script in there. I'm with Kdawg on this one.... why raise the turn on the first hand? I'm almost certainly behind, but I'm not raising for value. 1st hand, I lose to AT-- no surprise. Could I have folded the river?2nd hand, I lose to JTo, big surprise.
  6. I don't think there's much I could have done about either of these. They were consecutive hands on the same table, but I want some reassurance on my play. Hand 1.... maybe fold on the river? I think I was getting about 10 or 11:1 on the river call though. Hand 2.... raise on the turn is correct, given that this player was LAG?***** Hand History for Game 1956608947 *****$2/$4 Hold'em - Tuesday, April 26, 16:41:22 EDT 2005Table Table 39275 (Real Money)Seat 6 is the buttonTotal number of players : 10 Seat 2: scalper4U ( $45.5 )Seat 3: TBNOWD ( $95 )Seat 4: mbburch ( $117.5 )Seat 5: tex2mex (
  7. I think I should have reraised the flop.... but other than that, I like my play here. Comments?I think I should have reraised the flop.... but other than that, I like my play here. Comments?Hero has A A in BB. UTG+1 calls, Button calls, SB calls. Hero raises 4xBB to $2, UTG+1 calls, Button folds, SB folds. Flop 2 3 4 -- Hero bets 4$, UTG +1 raises to 8$, Hero calls.Turn K -- Hero checks, UTG+1 bets 10$, Hero calls. River Q -- Hero bets all in $19.75, UTG+1 calls.
  8. That's why I raised preflop-- I would have happily called a 3xBB preflop raise, and I'd knew I'd get a ton of callers if I made it myself. I don't do it often, but when I do, it generally works well. Unfortunately, I checked here, fairly sure that one of the 2 was on a flush draw, and gave the guy with A Q a free card. River was 6 , and I called his 3$ bet into a 40$ pot to make him show.
  9. Typical 50$ NL at pacific. Very, very passive, loose table. Hero is dealt 4 3 on button with 50$ in stack. 5 limp to hero, hero raises 3xBB to $1.50. 5 callers. Flop 4 4 Q -- Great flop, but I have to protect. 2 checks, MP1 bets 2$, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero raises to 12$, MP1 calls, CO calls. Turn 6d -- Mp1 checks, CO checks, hero?
  10. I was playing kinda scared because I had been making stupid aggressive plays all night. If I'm going all in on a draw, I usually like to check raise it, because then I represent even more strength. Is this flawed logic in that it induces a call somehow? Please elaborate.
  11. My table image was that of a fish (long story). I had planned on check raising all in. But such a big raise made me think he was protecting a set from the flush draw, and I was 3:1 against a set. All in or fold?***** Hand History for Game 1906007645 *****$50 NL Hold'em - Saturday, April 16, 22:16:31 EDT 2005Table Table 36962 (Real Money)Seat 7 is the buttonTotal number of players : 9 Seat 1: eightsinhole ( $29.7 )Seat 2: bornguitar ( $30.95 )Seat 3: hanmi1 ( $145.75 )Seat 5: remotespace ( $53.05 )Seat 6: nata_ura ( $56.57 )Seat 7: frankslade ( $57.27 )Seat 8: UnRealNess ( $7.47 )Seat 9: div
  12. I do it every once in a while if I can really convince the guy I have the hand I'm representing. ExampleHero is Button with Q J -- All folds to MP2, mp2 calls, CO raises 3xBB to 3$, Hero calls, Blinds fold, MP2 folds. Flop K K 2 -- CO bets 3$. Hero calls (hoping to min. raise turn and stab river). Turn 9 -- CO bets 5$, Hero raises to 10$ (hey, I've even got a gutshot now), CO folds.
  13. This is either call down or raise the turn and fold to a 3 bet.If he's drawing, then the raise on the turn is a great play, and charges him for his draw. You can bet the river for value. If he's got the flush, he 3 bets, and you lose 2BB, the same price as just calling him down.
  14. Hand 2: Bet/raise the flop for value. I like the check on the turn as well.Hand 1: Checking the flop looks good. I think you have to call on the flop. You're getting 3:1 on a call and you have 10 guarenteed outs. a Jack MIGHT be an out. In addition, if the BB calls and you hit, you might have as many as 4 implied BB's. Easy call. I don't think betting the turn would have gotten you anywhere.
