  1. Hey all, I am playing the Sunday Storm on pokerstars tonight, I have never really played many large scale tournaments like this with so many people. Would be grateful of any advice that anyone can give. Thanks

  2. agreed, i do nt see how anyone can argue with that point, players of potential but without moving up and playin the highest limits thats all it is. I know there are many good 5/10 players but there are not many bad 100/200 players etc, unless they have more money than sense.

  3. Just keep one account...
sorry think i phrased that wrong. I will only have one account but you have the option to deposit in euro or dollars, and the funds stay in the currency u deposited in. So i will be keeping my low stakes in dollars and my higher stakes in euros. I think this shold work, well im hoping lol. Does anyone play the turbo takedown?
  4. I'm not concerned with how the 5-10 players approach the game. Not in the least. All I want to know is how the top guys think, and how they play. Playing 5-10 wouldn't get me closer to that goal than just jumping right in and learning while I play. Having said ALL this. I do eventually plan to learn how to multi-table, trying 4 games at once, and will likely start out in the $5-$10 games.
Tottally agreed there, it would be silly to drop to the 5/10 at this stage when you are playing a regular 100/200. I wouldnt even consider it. I know this is a lot different, but I am a regular live cash player, I dont play nowhere near 100/200, but play a regular 5/10 and 10/20 (£) at my cardroom, I sat at a 1/2 table a few nights ago and I forgot how different it is. I felt like I was at the .5/.10 microstakes tables on pokerstars. I will post some of the play what went on as I had to write it down i was gobsmacked. It has just proved to me how different the mindset is of players from different stakes, I prolly had my worst nights poker for around 6 months, and dont think ill be playing at these stakes in a live game again. (unless I go broke of course).
  5. Oh no, n, no, no. I have never, and will never, sit idly by when a guy takes a shot like that. He was moved to our table, looked at the table and noticed it was his BB. He then pretended to be confused and waited for the dealer to deal the hand, then sat down. I told him karma was going to bust him, and sure enough, an hour later my Russian angle shooting friend was out the door.
LOL that is just crazy though. In response to being "pissy at the table" how would you react if someone done that at a big event, I know I would be pissed off. Fair play pity more people dont speak out rather than let nonsense like that ruin and spoil the event for the other players at the table.Oh and DN, so you can predict future events now aswel as hole cards lol people will be calling you GOD soon haha
  6. just put it in your gf's name. thanks me later
lol. good idea. I have thought of an idea, going to try it out sunday.I usually convert funds into $, so when i make my larger deposit seperate from my micro challenge I will deposit in euro, seperating both of the accounts. Hopefully this will work lol.
  7. Hey all, just a quick question,Is there any way of having 2 accounts with pokerstars? I have set myself a challenge but I could do with a seperate account to play the sunday million etc. If not can anyone advise a way to keep track of my challenge whilst still having increased funds for these tournaments?

  8. Ok thanks guys, i will be staking over the next couple of weeks. I have done well in some live cash games recently and dont realy have the time to play the long tournaments of the weeekend, so gna give someone else the chance. May want to rail in a few games beforehand just too "scout" maybe. Is this ok?Any1 interested leave pokerstars username, tournament preference (turbo etc), stakes usually played, time usually online (and time zone). Thanks guys.

  9. Good players put people on ranges. Great players put people on hands. Screw these haters. I like your thought process. I would shove over his turn bet though, you only have 500 left so if he has any sort of straight draw (AK,KT,AT) he will call a fair amount drawing dead. Whenever you're in the situation where you have the nuts and the other guy most likely has air, Always take the line that will induce more action from bluffs. Your bet/call, bet/call , bet line is pretty sexy and achieves this. putting in a C/R at any point will scare him away too much and c/c has to rely on him not only betting , but betting enough to put stacks in. Nice Hand.
Thanks for the advice fighter, i have always tried to put people on hands, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. I find sitting at a table for 3 hours long enough to realise betting patterns etc which i why i play alot of live cash play. I think this is my problem online, i cant focus as much. Had a bad night at the tables last night, only £1/2 though thankfully nothing i played held up. Lets hope tonights games a bit better.
  10. We are beating a lot of his raising range here and I don't want to miss a bet.. a lot of times AK etc will float one bet here and I want that money in good. This is limit poker, it seems like you missed that.
sure did mills, posting in a limit thread didnt realise. lol i dont know much about limit poker.
  11. I'm probably not checking any street here, personally
personally i would make a bet on the river. but be prepared too fold if neccesay. Ye bet the river maybe just over half pot but be prepared to throw them, imo.Why would you not check any street?
  12. Ok too explai my fold, i was quite sure one of these guys had a high pp from the way they were beting both pre-flop and on flop. Also I had a decent stack too not have too risk any more chips than neccesary as it is only 9-man sng. However, I wish i would have called............... turn came 8................. AAARRRRGGGHHHH.One guy turned over jacks the other aces, so my fold is 100% defencable as I only had 2 realistic outs to better my hand and was behind from pre-flop.Also the check-call worried me, after the pre-flop play.

  13. ok so heres a $3 9 man sng at poker stars, do you think i folded to early or made a good fold? (hopefully this converter works) Notice i had a decent stack, would it b worth it?PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 3.4 Tournament, 25/50 Blinds (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comsaw flopSB (t1395)BB (t1330)UTG (t1050)UTG+1 (t1425)MP1 (t1015)Hero (MP2) (t2960)CO (t1770)Button (t2555)Hero's M: 39.47Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 8 :club:, 8 :4h2 folds, MP1 calls t50, Hero bets t100, 1 fold, Button raises to t200, 1 fold, BB calls t150, 1 fold, Hero calls t100Flop: (t675) 3 :3h, 7 :ts, 5 :5c(3 players)BB checks, Hero checks, Button bets t300, BB calls t300, Hero foldsoutcome will be posted.....

  14. ok, when i said kq, i should have said 2 high face cards really, so sorry for any mix up. I am a new member lol not a joke account. To the last comment, I have already stated in a previous post that I am predominantly a live cash player and am looking to improve my online play, whch in the past i havent had enough time to progress as I would like. Which is one of the reasons I joined this forum, to gain knowledge from experienced online players. Does this explain my reasons for joining enough? And anyway what is wrong with looking at forums, whatever stakes you play? there is always something that can help your game.Too add a bit more info, the guy had raised big aces 4x bb on a number of occasions, same with pp's. I felt when he was hitting hands he wasnt betting big, trying to maximise profit. This is one of the reasons I felt he had KQ, as i didnt think he had big ace nor pocket pair nor the jack as by jdging the way he had been playing he would have bet small hoping for a call. I was wrong he did have big ace but thats the way it goes...

  15. Anyway.......I flat called his raise, after thinking and thinking, TURN.... Qthat sort of pleased me, opening up posibility of straight and also flush for him.My turn to act I bet £300 into him and he reraised me again to £900, i was like wtf. so i flat called again. Pot was at over 2k now i had about £500 left. RIVER.... 7I pushed rest of stack in thinking plese dont have j q or pkt queens. The guy said well Ive put this much in I have too see now and called. I turned my cards over and he went white lol, shoowing A Q. he said i thought u had 2 over cards and were pot stealing as you have all night , then said 'its like playing online, why would you call a raise with pocket 2s' lol.I think this is a great example of how an image adds a massive edge to ur game. I admit this guy had played poorly, but i am not complaigning- he can come every night lol.

  16. Best read ever?Seriously, wtf. Not only are you apparently skilled enough to put someone on two exact cards, but you can put them on KQ when he raises multiway on a JJ2 rainbow flop? :club::ts:4h:5c:3h
no i felt he had kq or there abouts, he actually wasnt holding those cards but was close. I had been playing against him since i sat at the table so sort of had an idea of the hands he was raising with etc. There was no need to be all cocky really was there?
  17. I went to my local card room this evening for around 3 hours, £5/£10 9 player table, i took £1000 on with me with 4 extra buy ins of he same amount as i were planning on a long night, but due to tiredness (and that whisky lol) i came away early. I had lost my first £1000 to a full house, guy holding pocket 7s, didnt see it coming but thats the way it goes. I was currently on around £2600, so i was around £600 up. Five of the guys are regular players, 2 unknowns and an occasional cash player (depends how he does on the roulette tables) so i knew most of the players and the way they play. I was waiting for the blinds to come round before i called it a night, 4 hands to go and this is what happened....Middle position im dealt pocket 2s, no callers up to me so i flat called, one unknown after me raises 2x, all fold except a regular on bb who calls and so do i. So 3 of us in pot, i had mixed it up all night played quite well, the unknown was a bit eratic raising alot of hands (then folding to my pot size bet on flop :club:) FLOP comes.......... J 2 J rainbowI bet £45 (hoping the guy had noticed my regular continuation bets and thought ill get him), the unknown raises to £140, BB Folds......Now I dont beleive hes got the jack, nor a pocket pair, in my mind he had Q K. So I was left in a dilemma, do i flat call and hope for another big raise on the turn, or re-raise and maybe take the pot bt possibly miss out on alot of cash as he had a bigger stack than me.What would you do???I will post the rest when I have some opinions from you guys............

play the low stakeswas a nice pot for you, well done. anything like that is just a coin flip, especially all in pre flop. Its quite tricky really, i dont usually play micro tables but have started since yesterday, and was suprised what people go in with lol. AK at these stakes, especially if u were re-raised 5 times prior, was a definate re-raise all in to me. if u not gna be aggressive with that then u would never get in a pot.was it the same guy raising? i gather so by the way u opened the post lol. People may disagree with me here but at these stakes id have done the same. I think on these low stake tables u gta play the cards more, whereas higher limits u need to think about alot more aspects of the game, such as position etc. thats just my opinion tho, dont want to argue about it, I have not much experience at these micro tables
