  1. In everyone's opinion... What book can I get a good lesson in bankroll management? Please include title, and author.
  2. Ok, I'm a noob. I've seen ads for rakebacks. What's a rakeback, and how does it work? Is it worth my time seeking one? Which one do you suggest? Explain to me how they work.Thanks.
  3. Haven't you heard? Everyone else, besides me, and the guy asking the question, in here are pro's and know exactly what to do, which allows them to be condescending douchebags. I'm surprised you didn't know that, you stupid idiot. : P
  4. Interesting... So, this would be better for the loose, aggressive player than? Sorry... The "better" loose, aggressive player than? : )
  5. This is out of Phil Gordon's Little Green Book: It's My Turn To Bet... Think!Every single time it's my turn to act, I try to run a simple script through my head:-How are my opponents playing? Conservatively? Aggressively? Tentatively?-What are some of the hands my opponents are likely to hold?-What do my opponents think I have?-Am I in good position?-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What do you do that's similar? What do you do differently? What would you add to this list? What would you take away from this list? What would you do?Thank you!
  6. I'm curious to hear what people have to say about the pros and cons of NLHE 6 max vs. 9.Why would you prefer to play against a max of 6 instead of 9?Please add any, and all other opinions/comments. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.
  7. I'm fine, thank you. Sorry, I reply as I read them. I don't read the entire tread, then reply.
  8. Kenosha Wisconsin! I lived there for a little while. Went to high school in Paddock Lake. Small World.
  9. LMAO! At least you're cool enough to recognize a good burn. Most people would just puss out, and cry, but you gave him props. Well done! : )
  10. ROTFLMMFAO!!! It's like that scene from the Chappelle's Show, where Rick James says he wouldn't dig his feet into someones couch with his muddy boots, then moments later, when asked if he did, he says he did. "As for my sentence structures don't care people want something perfect go back to school thanks for the warning""Never said any one needed anything I said I didn't care if people had a problem with it and if they wanted something perfect go back to school. But seeing that FPC filled with the Special education kids i wont pick on you guys it would be pointless anyways you wouldn't unders
  11. Yeah, I don't know how that happened. Sorry!
  12. LMFAO!!! I guess I should have been more specific. What I meant was... Not at that sitting. I mean how long in weeks, months, years, did it take before you could sit down at a poker table and get a good read on people in 2-3 orbits?
  13. "Cards-Chips-Position is the poker version of playing Rock-Paper-Scissors. Rock is your chips(easy to remember). Paper is your cards. This leaves Scissors to equal your position. When it comes down to how you wish to play your hand, you need to know what advantages you have and just like rock paper, scissors, there is cycle to it.Cards beat chips, Chips beat position, Position beats cards."Is this formula only good in fast paced tournaments, or can it be applied to all tournaments? I find this VERY eye opening. It's like the day I read Phil Gordon's Rule of 4 and 2. I think I'll buy this book.
  14. I have that book. I found it VERY overwhelming though when I first got it. I'm taking another stab at it now. So far so good, but I read during breaks at work, so I haven't gotten too far yet, so we'll see. I hear a lot of good feedback on this book so far, so I'm sure I'll get a lot of help here on the forums if I have a problem understanding some of the material. Thanks.
  15. I didn't read Phil Gordon's Little Black Book either. But I liked the other two. I also bought Sklansky's The Theory of Poker because Phil mentions it in the Little Green Book, but found it VERY overwhelming, and am just now taking another stab at it to see if I need to wait a little longer, or if I can grasp the concepts of the book now.The Super System books don't deal with Hold'em? Why are they such an essential book for the poker player then?
  16. How long would you say (take a guess if you're not really sure) it took you before you could get a good read of a table within 2-3 orbits? I'm just trying to measure my rate of progression, if any. : )
  17. What is, "straight up poker"? Can you go into a little detail on that, please? Do you mean fundamentally sound? Also, How long would you say (take a guess if you're not really sure) it took you before you could get a good read of a table within 2-3 orbits? I'm just trying to measure my rate of progression, if any. : )
  18. LMFAO!!! Does that mean that sentence blows, or that they're right... That book is the best?
  19. 1.) On average. How long (how many hands) should it take before you get a decent read on a player? 2.) If you don't get a good read on a player within the amount of time you usually average. Do you try to avoid him/her, and focus your efforts on the rest of the table? Thanks in advance. : )
  20. How many books are in the Dan Harrington NL Hold'em Tournament set, and what are their titles? Just so I know what exactly to look for. I've noticed that a lot of poker players seem to like Harrington's work.
