  1. I've had AIM since I was 14 (I'm 20) and I wouldn't know what to do without it. Did the UK make a big switch or has their always been a lack of AIM usage in the country?
I don't know anyone that uses it, it's all MSN over here, dunno whyGood luck, i'm looking at building a roll myself now, first month where i'm trying hard (and failing, i'm running so bad it's untrue at the moment :-/)
  2. Hmmm, so the ABC method should be more effective on 10max over 6max tables? I always play 6max as I think I can better reads with smaller fields, but might try tables of 10 for a bit and look to multi-table if it's profitable, to build a bit of a roll

  3. ab exercises I do are (and I don't know the technical name for them, so I'll assign my own and describe them) the double ended sit ups, where you pull your knees up when you do your situps, like the ones he did in american psycho (oddest description of an exercise ever); then leg lifts: lie flat on your back, lift your legs up 6 inches, hold for 10 seconds, down, repeat a lot. after a while you can mix in spreading your feet out in a V for 10 seconds too. that works more of the sides I believe. both of those work the lower part of the abs for that v thing that comes down that makes the ladies swoon. YEAH YOU KNOW DOG. excuse me, that happens sometimes. AAAAnyways... I also do side dips, where you hold a weight to your side, the bend over to that side at the waist, then back up. works your side muscles too. good stuff. finally the plank and side planks are pretty awesome, but you'll have to look those up because I'm tired of typing.
They're 'V' situps, the leg raises are good too, but tend to do more upper abs than lowerA fairly easy ab exercise is to have a pole parallel to the ground, across you neck, with your hands on either end - keep your feet planted and pivot your upper body until each hand is nearly in front of your face, alternating - do it until failI'm just tryin to get back into shape again, started bike riding as running bores the crap out of me - doing a few weights again, once I drop a couple of pounds i'll start using protein again and get into the weights more heavily
  4. I'd *love* to see some more small stakes online cash with more commentary if possible..On the 'What's new' section, it'd be really handy to have the text linked to the vids, or have the sections they're in printed so you don't have to search around

  5. In this case, limp away. But raising preflop, when opening pots, would be what I would normally recommend. Certainly, cut back on cbets at the lower limits.
It's the way i'd prefer to play, raising (with premium and sometimes s/connectors, c-bets etc), it just doesn't seem effective often at these stakes though unless you're connecting alot and have position to control the pot size
  6. $50, really, is too little to deposit at FullTilt for cash games as the minimum buy-in is $10, meaning you'd only have 5 buy-ins.At PokerStars, you can deposit $50 and they'll match it, giving you $100 (the additional $50 will be payed to you in ten installments of $5 after a certain amount of time, I suspect). The good thing about this option is that with $100 you'll be easily rolled to play $0.02/0.05, which will give you good bankroll management. Once you've built this up to say, $200 and learnt the basics, you could transfer to FullTilt and exploit the Rakeback. The reason I recommend FullTilt for Cash in that their lowest levels are $10 ($0.05/$0.10 blind) so you get worse players there. You'll also get 27% of your rakeback, which mounts up when you get it payed to you (usually on a monthly basis). Rakeback is not available at PokerStars. That's the basics, but definitely not all there is to know. If you have any other questions, just PM me and reply here and I'll be happy to help. All the best. :ts
Cheers for that, I might go with PS then - i've managed to get by with smaller deposits in the past, I put about 25$ on a few months ago and managed to get it upto $115, then took a few beats and tilted a bit and sluffed it down to 50, which is where it's at on PKR, but i've previously lasted over a year with $20...bad BR management prolly but it's worked before :club:
  7. If no one's folding to your air then, well, don't bet with air.
I did drastically cut my c-bets, but started betting when I hit a flop and finally caught a a few cards - got up 30% and then flopped trip J's on a A4J board, got him allin with AJ by the turn (8), river...AceNFTMFWWith c-bets often not being very effective at these stakes it made me wonder if the limp is better and wait until you connect, sounds like y'all don't agree thoTry again tomorrow...
  8. BUMPSorry the original idea died. I ended up forgetting about this topic with exams looming, but they're done now so...See OP. :)Whenever - 6pm-12am ET pref for me. PokerStars, preferably, too, but I don't mind, really. Whatever the majority wants.
I'm interested (tho it'll be weird not playing with some random donk plays at these stakes :ts)Just noticed where you're from - im in Warrington :club:
  9. For a Micro-Cash player, play at FullTilt.Get Rakeback through a link in someone's signature. Please get it.You also get a 100% deposit bonus up to $600. How much do you intend on depositing at first?
Ta - what makes you favour FT for micro cash? I'm probably only gonna deposit 50$ or so at first
  10. In these smaller stakes games, where probably 80% of the time if someone's limped in the pot they'll call a 3x raise (and c-bets) and it's not that often to get preflop raises, is there more value in limping into pots with suited connectors, QTsuited etc in the hope to get good draws, 2pairs vs the all common overvalue of a pair at these stakes?

  11. Cheers - just been having a look on a few rake sites, can't find one that does rakeback for Stars or am I being blind? (tho i'm only low stakes so dunno if it'd make that big of a difference)Anyone recommend Stars over FTP, AP etc? - I've been using PKR for a couple of years as I started on it with my mates, but it's slow and the mutlitabling is crap so I wanna change

  12. OK, i've watched a fair amount so far, so this is what I think so far - but I reserve the right to come back later and add stuff ;)The ring game with the pro's and commentary is very nice, great to hear their insights (and then comments by DN are interesting too) - I've still got more to watch on this and am looking forward to it.The stuff by Annette is quite good, plenty of talking about picking spots to move etc, looks like it has promise if she does more stuff for sure (and i don't mind the swearing she asks about, it's more natural)I've not seen much of the small ball stuff so far, but what I have seen looks great, Daniel's a natural for this stuff and it shows - not dull to listen to and plenty of info.I've just been working through some of the stuff by Adam and that looks good too - shame it's later stage stuff i've seen so far, but he goes over what cards he'd be shoving with in what position etc and what he'd fold to a reraise etc. I'm interested to finish the stuff i've seen so far for sure...The main issue I have is that I joined mainly for stuff on lower stakes online cash games and what i've seen so far is not good, to the point it's pretty annoying... There's easily 60%+ dead air time where nothing is being discussed (probably conservative estimate too..) - No starting range of hands mentioned...ever...., no tactics - in the lowest limit (.5/1 I think) I don't think I ever saw him attack blinds etc, but nothing was mentioned on it, is this normal play just to wait for premium hands at this level etc..?There's a section called 'taking advantage of the fish' played at a slightly higher stakes AFAICR, but nothing of great use is mentioned, the main 'play' being to wake up with AA in the SB and be lucky enough to get a raise in front, reraise and have the donk call.. I don't wanna cause offense, but it's pretty frustrating to me - I was hopin' there'd be stuff to soak up and I find myself so far going more to the tournament stuff just because what i've seen so far is really weak on my stakes cash games. I'm not a total n00b (I've read PH's book and Daniels, watched more poker than's healthy) but i'd at least like to know if the ranges i'm calling/raising/tactics etc at this level I use are right or need changing :(I'll prolly update in a few days when i've seen moreOh...and that's the good and the bad, here's the ugly - The person who did the greenscreen/roto work on Daniel wants shooting, the edges are *terrible!!* (sorry, I work in vfx and am just being a geek, employ me instead :club:)

  13. I watched two of Annette's video's last night and in the very first one, she said that if anyone had any requests to let her know. I'm fairly certain that she doesn't want every goob in the world emailing her, so is there a certain place we should send suggestions because I would love to here her narrate a tourney where she plays "blind". That would be awesome!!!
Yeh ditto on the narrated blind tourney that'd be really interesting, along with a full lower limit tourney narration would be awesome (I tried adding her on facebook like she mentions but no joy so far :club:)I agree with all of OP's suggestions too
