  1. If you had the possibility to become 1 year younger in exchange for every 5 % of your net worth, how much % would you give up (if any)? I mean, you'd still be living in this time in 2012, but only younger and have less money. To clarify, 1 year younger for 5 % of your net worth2 years younger for 10 % of your net worth3 years for 15 %6 years for 30 % etc

  2. Marathon session today. A lot of tables open. Allready up $50 after 17 sng's so far. Would like to play 80 or something but we'll see about that.
won $13 this session but was up way more. kinda disappointed but I'll be back. BR at $213.57 now. Finished 42nd in the BOP high orbit venus divison leaderboard last week. Missed out some cash there.
  3. Poker and building a bankroll sucks. It's boring as hell and you need to hear 'ty' in the rail whenever someone cracks your set of jacks with 53o in a 3bet pot after hitting a river gutshot. Arggh. My game has for some reason turned to **** and am tilting away my bankroll somehow. Bankroll is now at $112.I need a break.
how many hands have you played so far?
  4. Snake do you have a chart or table to help us see your total progression? If not it's no big deal.
nah sorry..Just finished 100 sng's this week. And yes I was a bad boy and played in the venus division. I actually played a few tourneys and a friend of mine HU plo. So i lost a bit and was down to 50 again. As stated in the first post I was allowed to do this if I deposited more $ to cover it up. Didn't feel to do that so I played with an aggressive BR management to go broke or get back on track. It worked out. Got $200 now. And I can post a screen shot of my results. Hope it makes you happy Chet :club:. Thanks for postingProbably wont stay at 11th or even make it to top 40 when the week is over but I'll give it another 100 so we'll see if I can get a better result.

  5. How did this session go Snake?@JSpencer, I was definitely sarcastic there.
straight to hell. Played cash games at full tilt at the same time. Wasn't focused on my sng challenge. I actually won about $10 since I was at 90 when I started y-day (have to get better at editing the OP). I was up at about 130 but went on a bad rush. Played 77 sng's. Gonna play focused next time!
  6. Gonna start paying more attention to my challenge. Last weak I got around 1250 BOP points. This weak I'm going for the leaderboard win (gotta aim high). I have to play good and run good to make it. I'm gonna play the 9-handed non turbos to reduce variance. So I'm starting right now. Gonna update in a few hours.
so I guess I'm gonna ignore this since I ran like shit and play poorly after that. It's a struggle but I'm gonna play a TON tonight. 12-tabling the 10-max. Hopefully I can play around 100 of them
  7. I've been playing poker for ..3-4 years? I've probably had 2-3 really bad cold streaks that lasted between 4-6 weeks. Of those three, two would be periods of time where I would put in the hours and make $0. When you're pulling in $800-$1000 a month, making $0 REALLY sucks and can have you seriously questioning your game, even if it's the same game that's been so successful month after month. That's the funny thing with poker. We freak out when we end up running bad over the course of 5000-10,000 hands.. Even though, over the course of 100,000 or 1,000,000 hands, we're almost guaranteed to make a good ROI. Yet, people make their situation worse by getting emotional, going on tilt, ignoring good bankroll management, not taking a break etc.I had one really bad streak about 2-3 months ago, where I lost almost half my bankroll. I'm sure when I tell you I had AA run down no less than four times in a row by junk hands, you'll relate. It got so bad that when my opponent called my allin with 3 outs, I was sick to my stomach, because I "knew" I was about to lose the pot with two cards to come. That's not a good play to be.What do you do? If you feel you're emotionally affected by a long streak of bad beats, take a break. At the very least, drop WAY down, and play for fun. Get your confidence back. I also found scaling back the variety of games I played also helped. If your best game is omaha, play that exclusively and build your backroll back up. If sngs are a steady source of money, play them exclusively. Get your focus back. You really do have to be emotionally detached from results, and pay attention to improving your game. Some people will never know how truly horrible you can run in this game. But you're certainly not alone. GL!
    really good post potatoman
  8. There is nothing much to do and all I can give you is boring answers: 1)move down to a ridicoulus low level and beat the crap out of it. If you happen to lose, so what? It's just a few dollars. 2) Learn another game and start from the lowest levels. Play stud, razz whatever game you do not know and learn how to beat it from the lowest level. That'll keep you off your regular game. 3) Take a break - completely. Go out and buy yourself a pie. Eat it. Then go outside and ride your bike for a very long time until you cant find your way back home. Do some other random non-poker related stuff for whatever time you need to get of tilt. 4) Go through hands. Perhaps you are getting 2-outed everytime and running very bad, but you are probably losing more than you should because of not playing as good as you normally do since your on tilt. 5) youtube tuff-fish and laugh your ass off when he's bitching about his bad beats at the tables. Usually works for me. Hope this helps

  9. Penny hyperturbos - that sounds pretty ridiculous :DAre you just playing one table sit and goes or multi table ones as well? Also, does it make sense to play SNGs that count towards the battle of planets or are they flooded with tougher opponents?
sorry coolhand, didn't notice your question until now. I play STT's. I might play some of the 18-man or 27-man sng's since I get more BOP points from them. The variance is bigger in those sng's and they take longer, thats why I focus on STT's. The BOP promotion is flooded with sick players at the very top. The lower divisions are weak and I'm confident I'll get some BOP cash sooner or later. The very first week they launched the BOP I actually finished 4th in the venus division high orbit. I think I got 120 dollars for my effort and a BOP 50k triple shootout ticket. I didnt cash in that one though
  10. Played another 16 sng's. Might play another session before I go to bed. I have 14 left to 100 played sng's this week. I was hoping to catch some battle of planets cash but that seems far away. I played way too sloppy in some session so it will be very tough to even reach the leaderboard. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna play another 100 before the end of the week and hopefully I'll be in top 40 of the leaderboard.

  11. imo the STT are a bad way to build a roll, too much variance as the game becomes a shove fest and i rarely see people pulling over a 20% roi even at lower limits... play cash games until you get your roll to about $50 and then move into mtt... starting with 45 mans and moving up as the roll gets bigger... its the route i took after failing miserably for a really long time and the roi is above 80% which is something i could never do at stt but maybe thats just me...
i completely agree with that, i just don't know that with >30 buy ins you can make a real roll from it... and as far as the cash games now that i think about it i hated those as well and the real way i got my roll running prior to mtt was through HU games... at the lower limits they are probably the easiest way to build a roll until you have the support for mtt...
IMO stt is the best way to build a roll. Sure, it becomes a shove fest in the end but since low limit players don't know how to play shove mode correctly you can expect to be a big winner if you know how to do it yourself
